I think my second game this month will be Dawn of War 2's campaign...it's about time I got around to finishing that I think.
Throw Advance Wars: Days of Ruin up there for me. Need to free up the slot for Shin Megami DS.
Please put me down for Resistance: Fall of Man for the PS3. Now I just have to re-learn the controls...
Please put me down for Dead Space and Mega Man 9!
I'm about half-way through Dead Space now, so with another month up my sleeve I'm sure I can topple it. As for Mega Man 9, I tore through the final four stages with 9 lives and 7 energy tanks left last night, but then got hammered by the final boss. I'll give it another couple of attempts, but if I can't pull it off then, I'll probably give up.

Credits roll when you get your 'A' License or your 'Burnout' License, forget which one exactly, though that's what I considered finished.
That'll do. Thanks.
Cutting it close because of the trilogy thing, but I'll let it slide. :P
Wha? All of the games in the trilogy are old! It's a collection of dinosaur games! I'm not cheating!
Fine, you know what? Add Super Metroid to the list too! Ha! I sure showed you!

Have faith, pneuman! Those first few attack patterns are mostly avoidable. But once you get to the final form, all bets are off. I can't dodge those attacks to save my life. If all else fails, youtube.
Crackdown for me.
Booyah! Mega Man 9 falls!
[color=white]I ended up managing another really good play-through of the final levels, and got to the boss area with I think 8 lives and 7 E-tanks, as well as my M-tank. Last time, I tried to save the M-tank for the final battle, and I think that was my undoing -- trying to take down those repeated bosses with the Mega Blaster lead to me using far more E-tanks than I should have. This time, I used the M-tank before the repeated bosses, took them out with ease, and went in to the final boss with all of those lives and E-tanks in tow. Combined with that half-damage guard power-up thingie, the final went down without too much trouble

With all the talk of Mass Effect on the site lately, I've picked it back up on the 360. It's definitely been a lot of fun, and I'm not too far past the Citadel, so I'm sure there's plenty to go.
I also ended up playing Star Control 2 again on the PC. I played it nearly 20 years ago, but was too disorganized to get a good ending. The fan-made remake is very solid, and it's a lot of fun to revisit the universe. Again, I'm very early on in the game.
I'd feel lucky if I finished either of those this month, but that's what I'll be trying to complete.
Put me down for Fable: The Lost Chapters. I'm having a moment of indecision, but so far that's looking like the most likely candidate. I'm also playing Wolfenstein, but since that's a pretty new game it doesn't count.
Thanks Hemi!
Scratch off Killzone. I don't really care to beat it, seeing as how it's a 4-hour romp of crap.
Forza Motorsport 2
When the game initially came out, I quickly got to level 50 and had only 2 endurance races to go towards completing the career mode, and then my 360's HDD got corrupted. With the announcement of Forza 3 a few months ago, I promised myself that I would finish Forza 2 before it came out. This time around, I'm using the Wireless Racing Wheel and enjoying it more so. Got about 16 races to go.

I threw it in multi because of VC release.
Thank you, Hem Hem.
I already had one false start with MGS4. At this point, I only care how the story continues, and figured I'ld rather not waste my time on dying a lot and repeating stealth sequences I'm not crazy about, so I put it on the easiest possible setting. Turns out that setting is so easy, though, that it actually hinders the gameplay: I found myself completely confused as to what I was supposed to be doing. It's far more obvious when I bump it up a notch, because then I actually find myself in immediate danger if I try going a certain way and this results in the level design being more fluid.
Played an hour or so of Burnout Paradise last night. I really enjoyed it, much more than I remember when I played a little when I first downloaded it (who knows how many months ago).
You can wipe Spy Fiction from the list. Not because i completed it but because i'm about to put the controller through the TV so hard it's going to end up in the PS2 through the AV cable....
The game is good, as far as spy, stealthy, stealthy games go but it suffers from that problem that seems to mainly be the remit of 80's and Japanese-developed games - difficulty spikes and unfair enemies. I managed to get through 95% of the game up until the second to last boss which, apart from my attacks doing hardly any damage, his ability to teleport across the room, run faster than i can, his insta-hit and unblockable attacks along with his ability to negate the whole aiming system that's been used throughout the whole game...... is a multi-stage boss..... with increasing difficulty!!
His second stage of attack is pretty much the same as the first one except that it's multiplied by 6 - he produces clones or holograms of himself (or some other sh*t that's completely unexplained when in the context of the rest of the game) that all act in the same way he does - dealing out massive damage.... Oh, they die easily enough, but they respawn each attack round and, of course, there's no real way to force your aiming system to target the real boss and, apart from all his other awesomesauce attacks he also gains a new one which takes off half of your health.
It's completely unfair and it's broken the game. I thought i was doing something wrong at first but after checking walkthrough sites it appears that, no, i'm not doing anything wrong i'm just nowhere near good enough. I hate games that punish you for playing them... the Metroid Prime series were another good example of this though i don't hate them for it as none of the fights i couldn't complete felt unfair like this one does. Japanese developers, i hate you right now..... i'm glad the Japanese development industry is in trouble because you need to change how you make games. I don't mind difficulty but i hate bullsh*t stuff like this.
I'm done with Spy Fiction and i'm really pissed off.
Trine on PC for me. Bought it in the Steam weekend deal a couple of weeks ago and didn't play until toady! Criminal, I know. I'd love to put another down, but the other games I have on the go at the moment are Titan Quest and Crisis Core, both of which I'm pretty sure will keep me going for much more than a month:) Also plan on returning to Kings Bounty at some point. I have too much gameage going on and I'm not playing nearly as many as I want to, arg.
Surprisingly, my first of the month ends up being Grand Theft Auto III! I've attempted to play GTAIII and Vice City multiple times, but could never get into them. This time, determined to do it, I worked my way through unappealing opening area. I won't lie - I had much more fun than I expected to. A 74% completion rate in 5 days....this game is doing something right!
I realize that GTA III came first, but I'm going to compare it to Mafia either. GTA is more pure fun, has a more varied soundtrack, more interactivity (boats and a small plane), way more side quests, a more varied arsenal, and a far more satisfying ability to cause rampant destruction. However, I prefer Mafia because the world is far more believable (cops actually care if you speed for example), has a FAR stronger story, looks prettier and is more atmospheric, and has characters you care about - I even rarely ran over pedestrians in Mafia, whereas I treated GTA more like Carmageddon. Mafia also isn't collect-a-thon crazy, and although GTA's many radio stations provided a large variety of styles with good songs, I got rather tired of all of them since they loop so frequently - I never got tired of the majority Mafia's music. Still, lots of points for the variety, fun, and humor, and I'll be visiting Vice City again, probably much sooner than originally expected.
EDIT: Actually, one HUGE complaint I had was rival factions' supernatural ability to recognize - and start shooting at - me as I approached, no matter which vehicle I was in and no matter what speed I was traveling at. This made some tasks go from "not too hard" to "frustrating" or even "F THIS!" thanks to at least one of the factions (mafia) having BS weapons (some sort of shotgun) that can insta-kill anything, including the normally ultra-durable fire truck.
RAGE!!
I think somebody didn't understand the title of the thread...
EDIT 2: In the course of a pleasant afternoon, Wallace & Gromit: Muzzled! was started and completed. It seemed shorter than I remember the previous two being, but the pacing was somehow better. Perhaps I've gotten more used to the characters and world and as such feel more absorbed in it. Also, I usually get stuck once per Telltale game, but that didn't happen this time. It's still adventure gaming light - less cranial gymnastics, same great entertainment.

Trine is only two months old. it's a little "new" for the pile of shame, but I'll let it slide this time.
Yeah, I wasn't so sure about it, but I felt like I had missed the boat enough that it could qualify. Plus buying on impulse because of a deal and then neglecting it has to help. Thanks:)
Scratch Rune Factory Frontier off the list for me. It is a fun and charming little game, but I've reached a point where my enjoyment of it is starting to lessen, so I'm going to quit before I sour the whole experience. I feel that I've seen everything the game has to offer in some form or other, but I'm not interested in doing the grinding necessary to see every level and item. To be fair, there's a bit more variety to the grinding here than there is in, say, a Final Fantasy game by virtue of there being so many different skills to grind, but grinding is still grinding.
All in all, I'd recommend this to anyone with the caveat to quit when it stops being fun (but doesn't that apply to all games?)
I think I'm going to take Dawn of War 2 off the list for now...I've just hit chapter 5 in Dragon Quest (when you're back in control of the main protagonist again) and I think it's still going to take me some time to get through it so I'm going to focus on that for now.
OK, put me down for KOTOR, I never finished it when it came out, I just got it on Steam and maybe this time...
Well my 360 Elite has died so I am scuppered in terms of playing GTA IV. Fortunately it was an E74 message and it's covered under the extended red ring warranty.
Oh and I think I hate Microsoft's automated answering service. Why tell someone a piece of information once when you can tell them three times. She also had trouble understanding my accent, which is extremely mild compared to many. I'd hate to be a Glaswegian with a tech support query.

Yer funbox gone all conkers, gov'nah??
I just remembered that I actually finished my game this month: crushed Penny Arcade Ep 2! Not that that's much of an accomplishment, but I got 200/200 GS on a single playthrough. Where's Ep 3?
I've been loving Arcade titles lately. First Trials HD and Shadow Complex, now Defense Grid and Puzzle Quest (recently discounted to 400 points!).
Yer funbox gone all conkers, gov'nah??
That's exactly what the automated answering service said.
I think I might end up buying Shadow Complex. The demo was fun. I usually don't like side scrollers.
Well, FFX is almost done - except now that I have the airship, I'm too busy wandering around and doing sidequests - more Aeons, Celestial Weapons, etc. The pacing of this game is dumb - it's linear as hell for 95% of the game and then it opens up only at the very end. I much prefer FF6 where it opened up halfway through the game.
Still, I'm having tons of fun doing all the sidequests. I think a big reason for that is because there are virtually no cutscenes, and my mobility is much higher. Having a No Encounters item also helps.
Anyways, looks like I'll be playing FFX at least a while longer - I don't think I'll grind enough to beat the Omega Ruins, but I want to try for some of the less obnoxious power-ups.
