... and don't worry Atomicvideohead, we'll keep your secret that you enjoy sitting for hours and watching well-muscled male spandex clad backsides too. I'm typing very quietly... so your secret should be fine until you choose to reveal it.
Personally, I still prefer my female bloodelf priest...
Note: Not directed at anyone here specifically
I find it ironic that we have a superhero game where you can make just about any type of character imaginable yet 90% of all heroes are hawt females who would easily fit into a WoW fashion show. They also invariably have the "vixen" stance and are wearing negligible amounts of clothing.
So gamers complain about not having enough customization in MMOs and when they finally get one that does let you make a unique character they all make copycat hawt chix with the only difference being if their size 36D boobs are metal or skin.
When I was first toying around with the character creator I tried a bunch of different characters. I made a female mind controller and tried to make her look like a "normal" woman. After playing her a couple of levels I had to quit because frankly I was embarassed whe my wife walked into the room and saw me playing a character who was supposed to look like a psychiatrist but instead looked like a meth addled porn star trying to be stripper pretending to be a psychiatrist.
Again, I'm not dissing on any characters in this thread. Even the sexy babes here have at least some context. I'm just sort of bemoaning the general lack of creativity in general.
I'll try to post my character(s) when I get home if I remember.
It's the vixen stance. The costumes and proportions are not out of place really, given the source material. In fact, there are plenty of mainstream comic examples that are more over the top than what's possible with the creator. But vixen stance adds a certain unmistakable eau de slut, and it's the default stance for females.
*hrumph* i find the scurrilous accusations that i only make female characters to be outrageous!!
here's two more......
(left) My second attempt at a much more 'shodanny' S.H.O.D.A.N
(right) an alternative costume for Motoko (with source pic).
I'll try and do Batou next, just to keep everyone happy
Man....some of these outfits should really come with a "camel-toe" option.
Hrm...though the thought of camel-toe on a pair of metal tights is sorta.....disconcerting.
But hey, they are superheroes!

*Shrug* I don't remember complaining, but I see a lot more variety in game than in this thread. I think the amount of flexibility in the creator is awesome, but I didn't want to spend an execessive amount of time developing a unique character. I just wanted to play and see if I liked the game.
At some point, now that I am signed up to play the game, I may come up with an idea for a "unique" hero. Until then, I'm having fun developing a backstory for what began as a generic dual wielding MA hero to test a game in beta.
For what it's worth, the costume pictured above is my hero's *second* costume. The first one was a bit risque and I had to come up with something suitable for my girls to see over my shoulder. So, I definitely agree that the creator gives you the tools to head down the "hawt" path.
Edit: Looking at this thread again, the female costumes don't seem particularly risque. (Mine has probably the most exposed skin.) Except for one or two, they are all probably an idealized weight/athletic figure, but they are superheros. That kinda comes with the source material.
Yeah, I went out of my way to say I wasn't referring to this thead but I should know that post would cause people to be a little defensive. I'm on my 3rd day without a cigarette so if I sound old and crochety it is probably because I am ready to remove the brains of my coworkers with a wooden spoon.
Anyway, ya'll play your buxom heros and don't let me playerhate!
Nah, it's a valid point to make. I wasn't trying to be defensive. There's definitely a high percentage of female heros in this thread.
Just for the sake of balance
Batou on the left (colours are all wrong...the available choices are woefully limited)
A certain Inspector fella on the right. Gadgeteer of course
Psychic Surgeon -- TK/Shadow Form. Board certified specialist in Telekinetic Vivisection!
Astral Archer -- Archery/Electric Form

Yeah—I can't believe they made that the default instead of heroic. Sure, it's the pose you're most like to see for female characters in comic books, but still...
I swear that the whole hip-jut waist-twist chest-out thing adds two full cups of oogaba along with a heaping teaspoon of badonkadonk.
Edited to add: Oh hey, I hear that the JPEGs output by the character creator (the comic book cover images) apparently *are* the saved costume files as well—so if you download those and put them into the CO screen-shot directory, then you can load the costume. Neat!

Hey now, I spend my hours in first person perspective eating sandvich and spamming a call for medic. Champions is going to have to wait til november for me.
I was just kidding around
The avatars in CO look really cool. Like someone said, it reminds me of Crackdown's art style too.
Where can you get those pics on the comic book cover?
They show up in your screenshots folder.
No idea why the resolution is so low on the pics but either way...
These are the three costumes I have for my main. The first is for when he's in Millenium City, the second for Canada, and the third for the desert. Lucky me, I took the 3rd pic while the duster was clipping through his leg.
I wanted to post a pic of my Cthulhu themed sorcerer with the lovely tentacle face but the screen cap was so tiny there was no way to see what was going on. I'll have to work on that.
Any demigod players here? have a go at making Lord Erebus!
Saw a great Chuck Norris:Texas Ranger and Gundam costume last weekend as well.

Forget Erebus! Anyone who can make a rook gets the crown!
*edit* nevermind

Here are mine:
She's my main. I made her in CoH and carried her over here. I had to use the "k" because Apocalypse is forbidden
My namesake. The prototypical, mystical hot chick. With pointy ears.
Made the Flea with the idea that he would have super jump for his travel power. He's really small.
B-12 was part of the "Vita-Men" in CoH
Ice Ape was created at my son's behest. He wanted me to create a Giraffe afterward.
Those are awesome Sephirotic. I really wish I could just get a stand-alone character creator from these guys :).
Cryxs
Noidia______________________________________Cade Bane (from Star Wars)
And for anyone that hasn't played with him, watching Cryxs fight is like watching a squirrel sized badger go apesh*t on a bad guy. It's really fun to watch.
Egad! Large images!!
Sorry, fixed. Linked the full size to the character names.
