"Left 4 Dead" Catch All

I went PC/360 with the Orange box, and i probably wont do it again. This will be day 1 PC for me.

Apparently I'm one of the few that is in the wait and see category. If it turns out to be a good game the platform I buy it for will depend on one thing. If it has 4-player split screen it will be 360, if not, the PC it is.

Day 1 pc here. Massive game boner.

Funny, in that I went PC/360 for the Orange Box as well, but this is probably a Day 1 360 title for me. This game would normally be a wait and see for me, but it's Valve, so I am pretty sure its going to be all kinds of awesome.

CONFORM!

After having played TF2 on the 360... it's all PC-only from here on out.

Well, to be fair, I'm not much of a TF2 fan. I really wanted to like it, but just couldn't get a good feel for it, even playing on XP on my iMac. Portal felt much better on the 360, to me. Same with Half Life 2.

I'll have it on PC.

PC! Rock on!

PC.

I kind of understand the platform roll call for a multiplayer game with a large number of players, but this is four, no?

Yeah I double dipped CoD4 and got it for both. I had a lot of fun with it for a while on the 360 but I like the game that much more on the PC.

Definitely getting the PC version of Left 4 Dead.

It's still nice to know what format the majority of the players will be playing on, particularly if there's people on the boards you've played a lot of games with in the past. I could be swayed one way or the other by specific people if they went 360, but so far the PC version looks to be winning on that front.

It makes me happy.

Almost certainly a day 1 for me, though as yet undecided on platform. I ended up double dipping on TF2, and I recognize that the controls will be better on PC, but nonetheless, it always seems easier to get a small group together to play something on 360 than on PC, even with the efforts of a wonderful site such as this.

PC all the way after the travesty that Orange Box was on the 360 compared to PC. CoD4 to a lesser extent too.

I played Episode 2 and Portal on the 360 as well as CoD4 on a regular basis and I wonder what the ?¤&% you are talking about sir.

Can't honestly speak about TF2 though. I've played it on PC for a full day at a LAN party and I had more than enough, so I didn't even bother trying it on the 360.

Compared to the PC it was just horrible. Play them both switching between them like I did and it might be clear. Obviously we have different preferences.

Fair enough. 360 then.

I might double dip and go both but chances are I will be going 360 for it but if Steam has a preorder sale or something for it than I probably will end up with both.

Yeah, I'm really, really excited about this game.
Could replace TF2 for me... I can't wait to play as an Infected.

That's how Valve roped me into double dipping for the Orange Box. Then I barely played TF2 at all on the PC.

I'll be getting it on 360, but if I was a pc gamer I'd definitely go that route. You know any new content valve brings out will hit pc first, user mods will be pc only, patches will be quicker, etc, etc.

I'm still not as pumped about this as most people. If/when I get it, it'll likely be on 360. On the other hand, I'm going to have to get a new gaming PC eventually.

PC, I say, somewhat redundantly.

But... but... your avatar!

[edit] To clarify: I was expecting an arrow:

Or something similar

PC too....

It's been years now and I'm still okay. I have a PC and Steam and have been loving a little retro-gaming of late, but the hassle... But I digress.

I really think that the 360 is going to be the ideal pick-up and play platform. I'm, actually, kind of eager to get 3 pub'tards in a room and see what they do under pressure in a cooperative setting. It could be a great console experience, great way to meet people... PC might be the inferior format.

The Orange Box on Xbox 360 is like Led Zeppelin on cassette tape. It's some of the greatest source material of all time, but there's a level of quality that you are flat out not getting on that format.

(Unlike cassette tape, though, it's not because the 360 is somehow inherently inferior, it's just the port itself that's not up to snuff)

OR... talking (or even screaming) will draw enemies to you!!!

So you could distract zombies while your buddy finishes reloading that shottie!!

Whahuh?

Hmm... 3 pubtards in a room under pressure to work cooperatively... what could the outcome possibly be?
77% gunslinging with predictably poor results
14% gunslinging while hooting like {ableist slur} monkeys (with predictably poor results)
7% everyone trying to take charge followed by at least one person dropping out of disgust/by accident/to be a pain in the ass
2% weinerbomb
1% normal human beings - a good time is had by all

That's 101%.

Hehe, I loved that movie.
