"Left 4 Dead" Catch All

The petty crime option is intriguing, but I meant I may never stop playing Left 4 Dead. It will be the StarCraft to my Korea.

It sure sounds great but so did The Ship and actually playing it was a little underwhelming.

This it the multiplayer mode I thought Dead Rising would have, though. So I'm crossing my fingers.

I've got a good feeling about this one. Source + Zombies + Coop = Fun.

It's a law of nature, dontchaknow.

This does sound interesting. I've been looking for a good co-op game for quite a while, and if they get this right it would fit the bill. The idea of the Director in particular sounds like it has potential - procedural a.i. mixing things up would go a long way towards replayability.

Yeah, I don't think this is a Ship situation here. It's not a high concept that's unproven in actual gameplay. It's co-op zombie survival shootin'. And from the screens I've seen, it's not Ship fugly either. I fully expect this to rock, and I expect I'll end up getting this on PC and 360 (PC comes out first, 360 is where most of my friends will play)

I was kind of expecting more improvised melee weapons. Feels a little less survival-horror-y when everyone has a fair supply of guns and ammo.

I think that's ok given the supposed relative speed of the zombies in the game.

Yeah, the "28 Days Later" zombie.

Another long preview: http://www.left4dead411.com/left-4-dead-preview-pg1.php

I'm not one to buy games at full price but I'll make an exception for this. After all, this may be the last game I ever buy.

Damn long preview, but it did manage to make me want to play this game even more.
Looks like Turtle Rock is really paying much attention to fit the right gameplay in this game.

I really hope this comes to 360. The community aspect would really suit this game well. Also, it sounds like 5.1 would be such a help that it would be my prefered setup. Very interesting bit about revives You can only be resurrected three times per round, and the final time you're a one hit, one kill kind of bait.

Back in '97 I was ringing around games companies trying to get a job. I was pitching the idea of a game, based on a A.I and emotion isseratation I did, that changed its difficulty level on the fly to push and pull gamers' emotions; and did so by analysing the gamer's performance and approximating their emotional state.

I remember one guy saying 'There's no point'. And now I see stuff like this, that reminds me of what I said.

It's so f*cking frustrating. As the founder of Excite said 'Being early is the same as being wrong'.

Wikipedia says 360 release is Winter.

Yeah, there's no "hope" necessary, the 360 version has long been announced and discussed in previews/interviews.

Everything Valve and Valve-related (HL2 + TF2!) is going for those sweet, sweet console sales figures right now. (I'd love some cross-platform play, but that's probably being too hopeful. Oh well, they're going to taek all my moneys twice)

It's official.

Hype Overwhelming.

This game has become a must buy for me. I mean, you can still shoot people when you get taken down.

I think Lunabean might be interested in this one!

Thanks, souldaddy. I saw that a few days ago but didn't want to post three previews in a row.

This video, more than anything before, has me dying with anticipation. The mere description of what I saw was enough to sell my friends on this game. Especially, the "GET TO ZE CHOPPA!" part with the wounded girl on the ground.

I wants it. I wants it now.

I had a chance to play this at Valve HQ when I went to Seattle for the Peeping Tom show, but I was unable to take advantage of it because of two pointless irritations known as "my job" and "sleep."

This tidbit makes me dance around like there's ass in my pants.

My concern about buying Valve's products on the 360 is that Valve likes to give out free maps, like Epic. Microsoft's "economic experiments" won't allow that to happen.

From what I understand, Microsoft's policy on pricing is that if the material is free for another platform it will be free on Live. Left 4 Dead has only been announced for 360 and PC, but the HL2/Ep1/Ep2/TF2/Portal bundle is coming to those platforms plus PS3. If Valve releases maps for free on PC and PS3, they'll be free to 360 users as well.

There's been games I've been excited about prior to their release (Oblivion, Stalker, Bioshock, etc), but none of those touch the level of excitement I have for this game. I look forward to many long GWJer nights trying to survive the zombie horde.

And I look forward to playing with you for the first time! I can't believe I have yet to play with a guy who has Mr T in his sig.

Says the guy who had a high end 3D card and a 21" monitor in 1998.

Don't worry. You can afford it.

Wow. I haven't been this amped for a game in Months.

I've said it before, but this is probably a two platform game for me, because I have to play with my PC friends and my 360 friends.

Really? I used to play BF2 a lot and joined in a bunch of the crazy Swat4 games (oh sorry, was that a bean bag to the crotch? My bad.) and the short lived but fun The Ship games. Unfortunately for me most of the GWJer nights are Thursdays which is "TV night" for the wife and I. Anyway, whatever night this games ends up on I'm in. Nothing stands in the way of me and zombies. Nothing.

I have officially changed my opinion from deeply intrigued to I WANT!

Give me a gun sarge! I wanna kill a zombie for mommy!

What really thrills me about this, despite the speedy FPS gameplay that I blow at, is just that it's totally designed for Co-Op fun. I've always had 10x more fun doing Co-Op than versus, even in the incredibly rare occasions that I beat anyone at anything. If that AI system holds up and the game manages to stay scary and not turn into a grind, good, good, good times.

I've been getting my zombie kicks in Zombie Survival on Garry's mod. Much better than CS Zombie. Now I've got to wait til a free weekend or November to play LFD, but I'm sure it will be worth it.
