Upcoming Batman Movie - 2011

Didn't see any threads on this so here's one.

Seems like rumor has it that Megan Fox will be playing Catwoman

From the Sun UK:

All the other stars who have reinvented the Batman films are back on board - CHRISTIAN BALE, MICHAEL CAINE and director CHRISTOPHER NOLAN.

MEGAN FOX has signed up to play Catwoman in the next Batman movie.
...
Shooting starts next year but the film is not expected to be released until 2011.

I realize one should take tabloids like the Sun with a grain of salt, but this doesn't bond well with me. Yeah she's hot, sure, but a terrible actress.

But Megan Fox is a horrible actress. Didn't we get enough of the "look purdy but can't act to save her life" with Katie Holmes?

They also claimed Johnny Depp was the Riddler, didn't they? I'm not buying this one either....

GOD I hope I don't eat those words.

Johnny Depp doesn't have the intelligent psychopath in his repertoire. He can only play the clueless psychopath.

I don't know what to think about Megan Fox as Catwoman. I think my head would explode, both for seeing her in a skimpy cat costume and for her ruining a Batman movie.

It's the Sun. A tabloid. Do you also believe in bat boy?

I'm in!

Didn't Nolan say at some point that he would never use Catwoman?

I think this is pretty much crap.

My Nolan-meter has dropped a few notches

Thank God for The Sun. Without them, how would we know that Eddie Murphy is replacing Johnny Depp to play The Riddler, while Shia Labeouf is coming on as Robin and Rachel Weisz is playing Catwoman when the movie comes out in 2010? Though, they could be doing better. After all, they got scooped on the story that Sam Worthington is taking over as Batman. I can't wait!

Katie Holmes is pretty?

Hah! I figured The Sun UK was a tabloid but wasn't aware that they were one of those. Thought they were more akin to People or something.

Katie Holmes was pretty. She peaked in The Gift.

Eddie Murphy as the Riddler... I know it's fake, but man, don't post jokes like that.

I'd actually like to see a Batman movie with Mr. Freeze, not the craptacular Batman and Robin Mr. Freeze storyline and horrible everything else, but the awesome Batman cartoon's fairly mature Mr. Freeze storyline for "Heart of Ice".

I call shenanigans!

Don't get me wrong though, I'd pay $11 in heartbeat, to see Megan Fox run around in a PVC body-suit for 90+ minutes. I just dont think think it's gonna happen... but I sure as hell hope I'm wrong.

That'd be sweet, but I think he's too comic-y for Nolan, which is a shame, because I think Nolan has the temperament to make a pretty sweet Mr. Freeze. I expect to see some Penguin, in keeping with the "freaks taking over" theme. And I'm cool with that, I like the Penguin. He has a different dynamic.

I think that is the most likely, though I'd bet they would play down his freak nature by a lot. All of the villains so far have represented larger themes, The Penguin would be a good one to explore high society white-collar crime. If they removed all traces of psychological damage or wacky technology and just played the character as a rich, powerful, intelligent chessmaster type, it could be really interesting.

Yeah, I thought they made a horrible mistake with Maggie Gyllenhal (sp?) in the new flick, but I just watched Batman Begins recently (the superior flick, IMHO, despite the major plot hole of the microwave bit, but meh) and I realized, "Holy crap, they actually look a good bit alike." Which is to say, Katie Holmes is not nearly as hot as I had remembered her.

Hey man, live the dream; call her up, see if she's busy, and offer her $11. Film it for us if she accepts.

Bastard. You owe me a cup of coffee and new keyboard.

Not a bad idea though...

I hope this is true. Megan Fox as Catwoman would totally make this film worth watching. Megan Fox as anything, really. Make her Batman.

I require a photoshopped movie poster for this. Internets, to work!

Isn't Christopher Nolan tied up with Inception until Summer next year? That doesn't give him an awful lot of time to do a sequel to the second biggest movie ever.

I would like to see them introduce Bane and have the infamous scene of him "Breaking The Bat". Don't simply have Bane as a muscle bound thug as he is often depicted, but instead stick to the comic book mythos where not only is he inhumanly strong, but possess one of the greatest minds in the world.

I doubt Nolan (or anyone) will be able to match The Dark Knight, but a movie where Batman is pitted against a villain who is an equal in both physical and mental capability would be awesome to see.

Ohhhh I like this idea. Although I wonder how they would handle the time it takes for his back to heal in the movie?

Problem with this is that they don't really have an established character to take Batman's place while he heals since there is no Robin. Of course they could introduce a Robin, or use another character like Gordon, but that would be a pretty large deviation from canon.

Thank goodness for that.

How many bloody Batman movies are they going to make? Ugh.

If they're making another, or since they're making another one, are there any non-retread villains left in the Batman universe, aside from something like Clayface?

They still have access to all the villains from the first four comed-- er, movies...
