FFXIV: catch all

I know for me, I would rather a dead guild than a gwj branded guild run by non goodjers. Just let it go.

Do Certis and Elysium have a policy when it comes to stuff with the GWJ name?

Chrome FTL

Not that I've seen.

There's a stack of cash and materials in the lock box that I don't want/would rather another Goodjer have, so I'll just pass the FC to whichever Goodjers is longest standing, and leader the others so that even if said leader goes inactive, there are other options. If they want to empty the coffers and disband they are welcome to.

5 new Goodjers have joined the past two weeks. I'll let them decide what they want

The death of a GWJ guild usually means it still exists and all the goodies are intact, but the people playing will be a part of some other, more active guild also and main there.

This makes the most sense to me.

And I end up an officer?

I didn't post anything at the risk of being seen trying to lead... and man...

TIME TO ABUSE THIS POWER!!!!!!!!! THE RICHES! THE STUFF! THE... >_>

<_<

;_;

Just wanted to thank Mitchell for running the FC. I haven't hit the level cap and so haven't really partied up with anyone in the FC yet, but people have been friendly nonetheless. Ensuring the FC is populated with courteous people is no easy feat. Thanks!

For the remaining FC members, feel free to say hi in game. My character is Shabecca Eldessta. If you are low level, I'd be happy to help you run dungeons, etc.

I'm right before my first dungeon so I might take you up on that.

Please do! I'm not on every day, but if I am on feel free to invite me to your party.

Go wreak havoc on those Primals!

Always happy to invite Goodjers to the LS of course, so if new people come, let me know.

I went with a kind of Goodjer = Officer power structure since I had no idea who would actually be active and such. Just didn't actually know the lurkers <3

Also... winning a Front Lines match with friends is like coffee and it's way too late at night for me to drink coffee, doh!

It's free weekend for inactive account.

The game didn't grab me at first. Found it too slow. Did they kinda speed up the pace of the game?

Not sure about speed up but I gave a few things a test run and found the dungeons seemed to be a LOT easier, things I was having tons of trouble with before were downed in first run using the same gear.

Not sure what speed up means, yeah.

If you are talking about grinding for levels, there are plenty of decent ways to level up. They've made it so that your highest level dungeon is always the best way to level up, and a dungeon roulette is there with bonus exp for it. There are also challenge logs for doing some FATES, some dungeons, some guildhests, and some levels for a bonus amount of exp to your next level.

If you are talking about, OMG SOOO MANY STORY QUESTS, then that has not changed. There are a lot of story quests you do to get to end-game, and that hasn't changed

Well the game still starts slow. You're not really doing stuff on your own until level 5 and 2 hours in the game.

That said, the game has grabbed me now, but didn't when it came out. There's a lot of quests and also the "levequests" that are kind of like dailies you can do at any level. I'm at level 28 now in my "main" class and I've found there's a huge wealth of lower level content I haven't even touched yet.

But you do still have to stick it out for the first few hours, unfortunately.

Looks like it is time for the game's one year anniversary celebration (and even includes a free login week). I just hope the seasonal events aren't all level 50 quests since I'm only in the mid 30's so far.

I imagine they won't be. Most of the seasonal events have been in the teens.

These will by my first so that's good to know.

I just renewed my subscription after a six month break.

I'm always playing disciples of war, I enjoy both tanking and DD classes. My question, what's the best class for me to take to end game as my first level capped class?

Can't wait for the new ninja job. I hope they introduce Samurai in the next content release.

If you like tanking, you'll be able to get into instances almost instantly, and thus get experience very quickly, plus you'll always be in demand for endgame. The only reason most people don't do this is because they don't like tanking, I think.

If you want to go DPS, they're all decent, it comes down to your personal preference of what you like to play.

This.

I was tempted to pick this back up because I want to get back into a MMO, but nothing on the market seems that strong. I stopped playing when instances required that you have a specific class or it cannot be done. Also, some of the grinding towards the end of the game for fates and crafting started to really feel like a chore instead of fun. Was any of this changed at all in patches or new content releases?

Any instance can be queued with a premade party instead of the standard 1 tank 1 healer 2 DPS. It's generally not advised, but it can be fun If you are a (ranged) DPS waiting on Duty Finder to match you, this still takes quite some time, like it always has.

I never felt higher level crafting was grindy, at least up to 50. If you want to work yourself up to 3-star crafting, it is a little challenge and a lot of grind.

Levels 42-50 feel a lot more spaced out than earlier levels. Dungeon experience has gone up. So if you do your highest level dungeon once per day with rested exp you will pretty much level once per day. So this is *slightly* better. Having just leveled a 3rd character (not class) to 50, it's still a little grindy. It's grindier the faster you want it done.

I'm taking my time levelling a few classes while I wait for my wife to catch up. Our problem is that past level 30, it's very easy to blow through your allowance of level for little progression.

Is it better to start running instances dungeons, or is it more efficient to chase FATES/grind leves?

If you're not doing your daily roulette you're leaving EXP on the table!

Yea, the roulette EXP is great. One dungeon gets me over a half level at level 37 with rested exp.

FATES and Leves are solid while waiting in queue for your highest level dungeon or Duty Roulette. Around level 42 or so your daily Duty Roulette starts being worse than your highest level dungeon.

Activate the challenge log for more bonus exp options

Got bored of levelling my other classes so I hopped on to PLD and did Brayflox Longstop for the first time. The boss mechanics were pretty easy and intuitive, but the poison pool dragon was a little annoying to reposition every minute or so. I quite enjoyed tanking again, so I'll probably take PLD up to 50 as my first endgame character.

I'm wondering what would be the most efficient way to earn GC seals. Would it just be a lot of FATE's?

I just recently started a second character to try my hand at tanking (though I'm basically learning from scratch). My main Black Mage character is currently at level 48 and I'm just easing my way up the last bit.

FATES are a very steady source.

Greed on any dungeon loot you can, those gear pieces can all be turned into your Grand Company for seals (you will need the 3rd or 2nd highest rank to do it, maybe?)

If you have crafting classes, turning in the daily provisions and supplies help too.

Making good progress, level 40 PLD and just cleared Titan story fight.

Quick question - which class is responsible for sleeping adds in a dungeon run? Is it the Black Mage or white Mage or both? I ask as my wife struggles with healing and cc duties and in ffxi the healer was the secondary cc not the primary.
