That reminds me, I guess they didn't talk about female Hrothgar yet either. I assume one of the later fan fests will have more info about those.

I’m debating on coming back for the free 14 days. Anything special happening?
The tenth anniversary event is going on til October (which gets you a cool mount), along with a Moogle tomestone event where you can run various content to earn currency that’s turned in for all kinds of mounts, minions, emotes, housing items, and other cosmetics. Otherwise we’re in a bit of a lull until patch 6.5 comes out in October. A lot of people are coming back to farm content, so queues should be quick.
And there is a lot in the mogstone event.
I celebrated by getting the street set I'd threatened to do as soon as it went on sale. And it did, so.
Came back for my free 14 days and holy f@#k I don't remember how to play my character. Are there any catchup mechanics to help me get back in the rhythm? Of course, I'm close to 50 so maybe I just grind it out and hop onto Red Mage since I'll be learning all over again.

You can run story dungeons with NPCs now, that can be a stress free way to dive back into things. Otherwise run around the world doing FATEs, or just stand in front of a training dummy pressing your buttons until it comes back to you.

I was afraid you'd say that, BLM is pretty infamous for changing its whole play pattern and rotation every 10 levels, so I don't think I'd remember how to play it very well at 50 either. I think generally you want to cast Fire 1 until you get a free Fire 3, and then do Ice 3 when you run out so you go right into the state to get all the MP back. I'd say you can get away with running dungeons with some randos to get your legs back--generally, people are pretty cool about returners, and if they aren't that's on them, why are they getting all in a tizzy over an ARR dungeon?
