A lot of the haxxor include legitimate Battle.net links in their e-mails. The tipoff is the sentence that starts "If you didn't make changes to your account, click here." The link that follows is the one that gets ya. Don't be fooled!

Well, tried logging into Battle.Net, and my login/password are showing as incorrect.

edited to break the links. Also to note that any other mail I've gotten from them, including when I did the battle.net merger, came as labelled from Blizzard Entertainment, noreply AT blizzard.com

Sadly (or gladly, I guess), that looks legit.

Here's the Blizzard page on what to do next. There's an 800 number to call (800-592-5499) after 10 a.m. EST.

In the meantime, you might want to check your computer for any nasties.

And after you regain control of your WoW account, see if you can assign it to an e-mail address that you solely for WoW/Blizzard games -- nothing else. The only phishing e-mails I get are to an e-mail account harvested from a site that gives space to guild websites.

I can't say enough about this. I have multiple emails that I use for different things. WoW was always on a different one that I used strictly for WoW and everything else was on an account I used for most other websites. Then I have a throw away account that I use for questionable sites and such.

Had to post this bit of absurdity. I think it's a bit generous to call it a phishing attempt, but anyway:

Deathwing the Destroyer returns to Azeroth. There is a serious saturation point in the World of Warcraft ID(s) and it is very difficult for players to creat a role. That we may delete some of the same as role's ID(s) to ensure to get a better gaming experience for players.

Sorry, because the part ID(s) which is not logged on ,for a long time. For our regular check may cause your ID(s) is cleared. We need you to submit the further questionnaire in person. In order to confirm that you are still in Azeroth.

I need to submit a questionnaire in person! Screw clicking the link, time to book my flight to Beijing!

Their translator is horrible, or maybe they were on our last raid and were sharing drinks with you zee.

Glad you bumped this. I don't know what happened, but in the past month I finally stopped getting spam emails. Thank god.

Maybe even the spammers are playing RIFT and LoL these days?
