The Official Trading Post

Blackberry Storm had a SIM too. Verizon SIM phones are few and far between though.

For the most part, Verizon phones with a SIM are 4G LTE phones, because LTE requires a SIM. It actually makes Verizon's authentication wonky, and moving around any significant distance with a 4G LTE phone can cause you to lose your data connection fairly frequently.

I didn't realize Verizon and AT&T had phones without SIM-- that's been their only method of authenticating their phones for as long as I can remember. But then, I never owned an iPhone, so I don't know how they work. But I can tell you that Virgin phones are CDMA, so no SIM card.

I can also tell you that I just got the HTC Evo V (aka Evo 3D), and this thing is awesome so far-- though I haven't tried to install any games beyond 100 Floors just yet.

EDIT: Quick Google confirms Verizon is also CDMA. Huh-- I had no idea.

No one should remotely consider a 4S until the 5 is revealed. It's rumored to have a bigger screen for the first time, as well as a smaller dock connector and some other changes. The screen size war is being dominated by Android, and this Fall Apple is expected to strike back.

This will be the biggest change since retina display. Lucky me, my contract runs out this fall.

Warning: continuing off topic.

Verizon should let you activate any device that has a clean ESN.

Virgin is an MVNO operating on Sprint's CDMA network, so all Virgin and Sprint phones do not use SIM cards. The MVNOs are often of the pre-paid variety, and their iPhones will be the smallest capacity models. AT&T and T-Mobile are the nationwide GSM carriers in the U.S. I've heard that some people manage to get their Sprint phones working on Virgin, but therein lies dark magicks. Wikipedia can tell you which ones are GSM (SIM card) and which are CDMA.

I know they only released the EVO V a couple weeks ago for Virgin, but my phone does say Sprint on it, which kind of surprised me. I already knew at the time that Virgin is Sprint's no-contract provider, but I just expected the only difference between Virgin's and Sprint's versions of the phone would be the carrier's moniker on the case.

Major props to LilCodger for taking care of me. Really appreciate the help, man!

Looking for a smartphone on Verizon. My HTC Trophy, a Windows Phone 7, is now defunct, and until then, I'm rocking my Razr, circa ~2005.

Also, I'm a year into my 2-year contract.

Would prefer an iPhone of sorts, but not sure I can afford it. PM me, please.

This has bee taken care of - Thanks, LilCodger!

Would trade either for a copy of Dark Souls or Dragon's Dogma.

Are those 360 or PS3?

Sorry, edited my post to clarify. Both are on the 360.

Both of those are really tempting, but I just don't think I would get to them for a while. Too many big honking games on the pile already.

How much would you add for shipping to Canada for KoA? I can PM you the address so you can check your post office if you would like.

Interesting - I have enjoyed two of those games (KoA and Dark Souls, which I'm playing now) and am planning to make DD my next purchase. Perhaps we have similar tastes!

I'd probably enjoy Skyrim, too, but I got burned out on Oblivion. I've started thinking Elder Scrolls games are big for the sake of being big.

Sent you a PM, I don't mind shipping to Canada but I don't know how much extra it will cost.

Fedaykin, I think you're right, we've been in a lot of the same game threads over the years, especially RPGs. I'm in the middle of moving though, and I probably won't be able to get to any games for a while. If you get a copy of Dragon's Dogma in the meantime I may be inquiring about it later in the summer.

I am looking for a complete copy of Buzz for the PS3 with controllers. I have tons of games for trade, most on the 360. I'm sure we can work something out.

I checked, and it costs more than I am willing to pay for a game that will end up, more than likely, on my pile.

Thanks anyways.

[Cross-posted from Comics]

A month ago I suggested a graphic novel trade between GWJ-ers in the Comics thread so we could off-load titles we weren't crazy about for others that caught our interest. Here's my current list of expendable titles, with writer, artist, and condition. I'd much rather trade than sell, but we can do a sale if need be. PM or post here or in Comics.

Condition key: Like New (read once or twice, but you could still give as a gift), Good (obvious it's been read a half dozen times), Acceptable (remaindered, stickered, or cover-creased in some way).

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Black Dossier [hardback] Moore/O'Neill Like New
The Twelve Straczynski/Weston Like New
Astonishing X-Men: Dangerous Whedon/Cassaday Good
Astonishing X-Men: Unstoppable Whedon/Cassaday Good
Spider-Man (Ultimate Collection) Millar/Dodson [barely] Acceptable
Moon Knight Bendis/Maleev Like New
Green Lantern: The Sinestro Corps War Johns/Gibbons Good
100 Bullets: First Shot, Last Call Azzarello/Risso Good
100 Bullets: Decayed Azzarello/Risso Good
Wolverine: Logan Vaughan/Risso Good
Gotham City Sirens: Division Calloway/Guinaldo Like New
Avengers 1959 Chaykin Like New
The Dark Knight Strikes Again #2 Miller/Varley Good
Civil War Millar/McNiven Acceptable
Red Hoeber et al [barely] Acceptable
Titans: Family Reunion Wallace/Fiorentino Good
Golden City #1-3 [hardback, IN FRENCH] Pecqueur/Malfin Good sample: http://lambiek.net/artists/m/malfin_...

Thanks for looking! I will accept trades for books as well.

Anyone looking to score a like-new Fender Strat (Mexican made) at a nice markdown? It comes with a canvas gig bag, patch cord, electronic tuner, picks, etc. I'll have to get a guitar shipping box (I believe they can be ordered). This is a bit of a feeler post, so just wondering if anyone has interest. They go for $500 new, and mine has hardly been used. (I tried, I suck). It was purchased in summer 2008, and has spent 99.9999% of the time stored in my closet in it's gig bag. It's in excellent condition.

It's this exact model and color scheme:

IMAGE(http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g81/ziffel66/_c354516_image_0.jpg)

I also have a Fender G-dec Jr amp.

IMAGE(http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g81/ziffel66/2351000000_frt_wmd_001.jpg)

Fender lists them at $199 MSRP, I think they go for $149 retail. It's considered a practice amp, but it's louder than sh*t.

If interested, PM me and maybe we can work out an agreeable price. Potential buyer from Florida or south Georgia, we could possibly arrange a meet-up. Otherwise I'm willing to ship to the U.S. lower 48.

edit: just called a local music store, and they sell guitar shipping boxes. So shipping will be no problemo.

I have a few miscellaneous items I wouldn't mind passing along:

Fruit Ninja Kinect XBL code
Dirt 3 Steam code
Kill Screen Volume 1, Issue 5: Sound - http://shop.killscreendaily.com/products/issue-5-sound

Have any interest? I'm happy to work something out, sale or trade. PM me or reply here.

I've just wrapped up Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands on 360. Looking to trade or pass it on.

Does anyone have an AC Adapter for the Gameboy Advance SP (the clamshell design) that they might want to sell? Heck I might even buy a GBA SP set if it comes with an AC adapter.
