Fixed.

Harsh and heartless. I wave my privates at you!

There are always bad calls. But there are also epic bad calls, I can think of a certain high stick goal back in 2001 for example. This one ranks as a horrid call for the ages. Revisionist bad calls.

Milan Lucic got a match penalty after the game was done against Montreal this year so they could suspend him. There have been calls just as bad as the Kronwall one in these playoffs.

Was that the one where he crosschecked a player in the face?

In the shoulder, yes. The follow through was a glove in the face. Though I'm not really debating the severity of that but rather the nonsense of changing the call by the NHL after the game.

Havlat stomps people. He is Chris Pronger.

Franzen showed what one should do when the other team goes into goon mode: mouthguard theft. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNj5M...

That could be the best video of these Playoffs. I laughed out loud. For realz.

If Detroit and Pittsburgh make it to the Finals, expect every announcer to be talking about if Hossa made the right choice or not depending on the score of each game.

Pens/Wings again? Wake me up when the next season starts.

I'll drunk call you if/when the Pens win the Cup.

And the Pens sweep. Canes played with some desperation tonight, but still couldn't match the Pens strength. Tired? Injured? Who knows. The Pens earned the conference championship. I'll root for them over Detroit, but if Chicago is in I'll cheer on the 'Hawks.

Most sincere condolences, my Carolinian friend.

ASSHATTERY SUCCEEDS! I blamed you, anyway.

Eh, now I get to actually enjoy the playoffs instead of shrieking and puking blood. But thanks for the thought, ya lug ;).

I'm not allowed to cheer for a team this year. They lose when I do.

Oh, what's this? I suddenly find myself sending you a Redwings jersey...

Ditto. Epic fail.

The Pens are screwed.

I watched that and was pretty surprised to see him pick up the trophy. I can't fault him for his logic though: not touching the trophy last year didn't work, so why not try something different? Especially seeing as they are facing the same team (assuming Chicago doesn't pull off a miracle).

I think in 2003 the Devils touched it and posed with it. Didn't hurt that much that year.

Same with the Avs in 1995 and 2001.

The Oilers dodged it in 2006, and it didn't do Squat for them. I say Grab it. Superstitions are dumb.

I think the only superstition in hockey should be the playoff beards, but even that seems to be more in the line of tradition.

Who is Darren Helm?

Didn't watch the playoffs last year? Kid can skate like the wind. Was supposed to be on the team during the regular season but cap constraints kept him off the roster until the playoffs. Former Medicine Hat Tiger. I only know this because Junior fans don't shut up about their alumni.

So the conference finals are over, and now, we await the finals which start.. next Friday?

Which start this Saturday. 8pm.

And for those of you without VS, games 1 and 2, and then 5, 6, and 7 are on NBC. If it is a sweep, you will need cable or satellite to see the clincher. I point this out as I gave up DirecTV in January. The main thing I have missed is sports. In St. Louis, there was OTA broadcasts of some Blues games, but next season they will all be on Fox Sports Midwest. I may have to get it back after all.

There's usually a ustream feed for playoff games. That's what I've been watching when the games are on non-basic cable channels.

No kidding. He played an excellent game last night.. deserved the game winner. My comment is more me reflecting that it's just ridiculous how these prospects keep coming out of Detroit's minor league system and playing well at the highest level. Players like Helm are why Detroit is the best-run franchise in hockey.

Really? The talk on the radio on Wednesday was that the finals would start next Friday. hmm..

Saturday and Sunday back-to-back games in Detroit.
