Futurama - New Season Coming in 2010

I have no need for cable. Anything ELSE I would watch is either online the next day (legally) or available in a handy sports bar format, where I can also purchase food and alcohol.

Until Futurama was announced on Comedy Central that is. Now I need to rethink how this is going to work...

Easy solution. Make a friend who has cable.

Well, apparently you DO have need for cable

Anyway... I had a dream last night that the first two episodes had already been leaked onto the web, and the first episode was a great return to form. I also dreamed that the opening sequence on the second episode was an awesome and hilarious throwback to classic movie serials. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough dream time last night for the rest of the episode, but I plan to do some more dreaming later today.

Working on it! I'm new to the area...

While I was on the way to work today I passed someone in front of the apt building two houses down from mine who was out for a smoke break. He had a "Crl-Shift-KILL" shirt on w/ Bender's head. I kicked myself afterwards for not IMMEDIATELY stopping the car, introducing myself, and inviting myself over to his place tomorrow night.

yeah, that wouldn't have been creepy or anything...

That was just a dream? They haven't actually aired? I wondered why "Back off, Slutclops!" wasn't everywhere today.

You had a dream where you were watching tv?

That's my kind of dream.

For legal purposes, YES, it was just a dream....

Oddly enough, after you mentioned it, I went and had the same dream. Not the best dream ever, but I certainly enjoyed it, and will dream it again tonight.

Wait a minute... I get the feeling you guys aren't talking about actual dreams.

It's some kind of sex thing isn't it?

Anyone in Chicago want to come over to watch tonight? Shoot me an email or PM.

By Chicago do you mean Vancouver?

Can you get here in time?

Watching it now... So exciting!

It's annoying that a good chunk of my screen is black. Stupid Comcast, not having Comedy Central HD.

I want a Chamber of Understanding. And some wily fish. In a barrel.

I counted several times I laughed out loud (particularly trying to "wake up" Leela). And as a total Fry and Leela fangirl, I loved the way they approached that relationship. I'm glad they're not backing away from that to come up with some stupid sitcom-y reason why the two of them wouldn't be together in the new series. Also: Slut-clops and Poopiter were brilliant.

Spoiler:

Zap had some great lines in the second episode. "I wax my rocket every day" or something along those lines. I loved his cringing when Leela found him out.

I'm so glad the show is back.

Any one up for a game of Parcheesi?

...still waiting... stupid mountain time.

I was concerned about the show's return after the somewhat sloppy video releases, but that concern turns out to be wholly unfounded. It's almost as though all the intervening years never happened.

I want a Chamber of Understanding.

Favorite part of both episodes so far.

I laughed pretty hard at both, it seems Futurama is back and on top of their game. Really it was better than the movies.

Mountain Time? Try Pacific Time! I've still 10 AGONIZING MINUTES.

My new residence has Comcast. I kept looking for CC HD to set up my DVR for Daily Show and Colbert... quite annoying.

Also, great show(s?) tonight. I missed most of the 2nd, but the 1st was fun.

I never got around to watching the fourth movie...would it be of any benefit at all to do so before watching the new episode (I'm away at a camp right now; if all goes as planned, the new episode awaits my wife and I on our DVR at home)?

It picks up right where the last movie leaves it, but it won't really spoil anything to watch the new episodes before watching the last movie.

I'm really glad futurama is back, loved the first episode but didn't find the second That funny. Still I'm glad it's back.

Yeah...not feeling it. First episode was kind of spluh, second was more "What the V-Giny is going on here?" I have a bad feeling about this, bad as in "Family Guy since it was uncancelled" kind of bad.

For me it was......

first one: YEAH!

second one: mehhhh

Also, I personally find the early family guy eps unwatchable. Even though I know of its flaws, I enjoy the new ones.

They can make racier jokes on Comedy Central. Naturally, their first attempts are pretty juvenile.

That said, I enjoyed the new episodes.

We're back, baby!!! I'm happy.

I think it would help a little, if only to understand how some relationships have changed. (Also for the line: "As everybody knows, there's only one thing men can't resist: Hookers.") But it's not their best outing.
