Small? Check.
Speaker? Check.
Beer storage? Check.

Ladies and gentleman, we have a winner.

And it wins on the size factor.

Which brings up a good point: If he's somewhat limited on space available, why can't it be a stool?

Because I don't want to sit on a stool for 6-8 hours when gaming. I wanted a comfy chair that has speakers in the headrest. Not that it's any huge surprise, you guys have taken this thread to a whole new level

The last time I enjoyed a thread this much was when ... uhh ... Certis (maybe) had a box in the attic and everyone took bets on what was in it. Oh ya, that and the "man-shaving" thread.

That was Sway's box.

And 6-8 hours of straight gaming is the kind of thing I only dream about. I'm lucky to hit 10 hours each week.

I am not fancy. I have a simple chair and bed in my room. Just a used easy chair from when a family friend redecorated. I use a core ball at my PC.

If you want a chair, hit up your local furniture store/outlet. They are always trying to get rid of old stock chairs, couches, loveseats, foutons. Find what you see as comfortable and go with it. The beauty of furniture shopping is you can try everything in the store before you buy.

I just want an excuse to contribute to this thread, so the Ultimate Game Chair. Can you guess what I googled?

I gather that Pyramat make some good chairs, though I am not sure that I would want one. Does it have to have legs to be a chair? It might help that it doesn't if, say, you had limited space. I'm not sure whether or not that is an issue here.

I have wondered if a chaise lounge would be more comfortable than a recliner for much of the gaming that I do on the consoles. Anyone here use one?

Funny you should mention a chase. It's what's giving me that "limited space" that has become so popular. Due to the length of the chase I can't imagine it would be good for gaming. Maybe if I got a wireless mouse/keyboard.

Limited space is a big issue.

I used to use office-chairs for gaming at my computer desks, but I always wanted a recliner. Unfortunately, they're rather hard to scoot up to a desk. So I got four of these:

Now I can scoot up to a desk with the recliner pretty easily. It takes a bit more space than an office-chair, but since the bottom kicks forward under the desk, it's not as huge as one would expect. Finding a way to mount some rear-channel speakers to it is my one my next goals.

Sorry, but I felt inclined to revive this thread cuz it makes me giggle. Also I've been looking for a gaming chair as well. The price is right on this one.
Here is the ultimate provided you are not limited on space.

I suggest you get you brother to wreck you dad's 1992 Cadillac Eldorado so you can pull the driver and passenger seats out and make the comfiest gaming chairs ever.

You can even buy a power converter to make the seat adjustment work.

I have actually been toying with the idea of raising one of them up to computer desk height and rigging up my flightstick/throttle so I can dogfight in style. Anybody ever done anything similar?

With whaleskin hubcaps and all leather cow interior and big brown baby seal eyes for headlights! Yeah!

Because of this thread, God now kills a kitten whenever someone uses the word chair.

Oh, drat...

Well if you want a chair that its 100% ergonomic to the human body. I suggest this.

Back to the debate between using a chase and a recliner: I personally find that recliners are more comfortable for gaming because the way it shapes the body with the knees bent as opposed to the chase where the legs are pretty much flat. Chase lounges are good for sleeping but I prefer a recliner for gaming. Plus a recliner is actually a chair and a chase is more so something else...which I hear matters.

"See how the genitals make use of the gap!"

All of this talk of chaise lounges (please not that there is an 'I' there, please...) reminds be of a conversation I had in a furniture store when I didn't know what these chaise lounges were.

Me: So this is a sofa, what is it?
Saleswoman: Oh, this is a chase lounge.
Me: What? Oh, I see a chaise lounge. But... chaise just means chair in French.
Saleswoman: A chase lounge...
Me: But... it's... Fren...

On topic. I can't believe I passed by this thread.

It's actually chaise longue: "long chair".

Thank you. That makes a lot of sense. My Googling did not produce the second part, longue for long. It seems in North America, the furniture industry decided chaise lounge was just easier to say. Which makes it a bit confusing. According to Wikipedia, it's even in dictionaries as chaise lounge.

Is money an issue? For a measly $39,950 you can play games and pretend you're in Alien.

I believe space is an issue.

Is that a chair? I think it needs to be a chair.

I'm falling behind on my Goodjer Commandment responsibilities. So, the short of it is that space is limited and it has to be a chair? I'm thinking a stool with a cushion, unless snobs don't think stools are chairs.

Edit: Okay, so Dethroned isn't keen on stools. Yeesh, somebody with space issues can't afford to be snobby.

I hope that space is not an issue.

No, I don't see why it would be.

Truly, Chair Pants are the ideal solution when it has to be a chair and space is an issue.

Thank you, chair pants!
