Random thing you loathe right now.

Star Wars Episode 7 - slated for 2015. This is not a joke. It was announced a little while ago at the press conference where Disney announced they're buying LucasFilm.

So Steve Jobs buys Pixar from Lucasfilm then Disney buys Pixar and most of the top dogs at Pixar become top dogs at Disney and then Disney buys Lucasfilm. The circle is now complete. The student has become the master.

There are always two..... Or in this case three. You forget that Disney bought Marvel a few years ago, too.

It'll be interesting to see if they cross over any of the properties. Someone on Twitter suggested Pixar doing a Grim Fandango film. I'd pay to watch that, for sure.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Wait, does that mean the Marvel rides will move from Universal Studios park to Disneyworld??!?! So confused!

Hiring Java/C# types. Just sayin'.

I was actually going to make a similar post but I don't think we're hiring right now. Still, Garden Ninja, you've been in Seattle long enough that's it's probably not that bad to jump ship. Plenty of jobs around here.

I may have a new sig.

QS - over in the Disney/Lucas thread, someone mentioned that Universal owns theme park rights "east of the Mississippi" to Marvel through 2030.

So any Disney Imagineered Marvel rides would be relegated to Disneyland in CA until then.

I'm hoping this means the Indiana Jones and Star Wars rides at Disney Studios get a nice overhaul.

I suppose the silver lining is that they have a chance to be not horrible since George Lucas isn't making them?

But how does Marvel fit into the Lucasfilm/Pixar/Disney circle of strange coincidences?

If Disney could now buy Hasbro and Lego I think they would own like 90% of my childhood. Atari and Nintendo would give them like 99%.

In an effort to be helpful, my mom accidentally spilled water on my keyboard. Wasn't much, and I've dried it with a towel and blew air into it as much as I could see water still coming out. I think it worked, but I don't know if there's still any residue left inside.

I'm typing so far, so I think I'm good, but do you guys know if I should turn it upside down for a while and let it sit or something? Am I risking a fiery explosion from hell to obliterate my really pissed off face?

If it's a wired board, you should be fine. Let it dry, but otherwise no worries.

Pack it in rice for a day or so if you're nervous.

Star Tours at Disney Studios got an overhaul last year. There is no Indiana Jones ride at Studios but there is an aging stunt show that could use some revamping. Indiana Jones ride is at Disneyland and is already perfect, no overhaul required.

My loathe is not being able to tear myself away from storm coverage.

Yeah, they need to add some Crystal Skull content to that IJ stunt show.

I went to purchase and download the new ACIII game on to my wife's Vita yesterday, but could not find the console. Turns out she believes it was stolen from her car. ACIII was the primary reason my wife wanted the Vita. Her and my daughter were so excited to play the female protagonist.

Gone with it are the LBP cart and a 32 Gig memory stick. F*cking sucks. I'm not sure we can afford to just replace it any time soon.

The blind spots that usually indicate a migraine is going to be coming along in a bit.

Didn't help that I've been having a stressful couple of weeks, but I mostly just needed to grouse. I don't feel great about how business handle things, but after talking with a couple co-worked, it's not as bad as I thought. I also just got out of a meeting that made it clear that the Dev Department has my back.

I'll just leave this here:

Bah, humbug.

My PS3 died. Like lights won't even come on dead. I turned it on, lights came on, there was some noise from inside the casing and then... light goes back off. Silence follows.

So I thought, well, that's just the power supply. Looked it up online. $30 for a replacement.

Decided I'd try and get some stuff off my system's hard drive in case the repair goes badly. Plugged the little sucker into my USB dock and... more nothing. Tried plugging it in directly in my PC. Nope.

Hard drive is dead too. When the PSU went it would seem it took some other hardware with it.

So much for my easy (and cheap) repair.

The same thing happened to my Dad's Launch PS3 last weekend. No status updates, so I assume it's still bricked.

This is about where I'm at. I mean, objectively, all of the worst star wars movies had heavy lucas involvement. Minimize that, and you get the awesomeness that is Empire. Maximize it, and you get Phantom Menace.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly thrilled with Leia being a Disney Princess now. But as long as they get decent writers, and a good director, and keep Lucas the hell away, we could get another Empire out of this. I mean, Tron was a Disney movie folks. Would any of you say that Tron isn't awesome? We could have that, but Star Wars!

Tron was an awesome feature length Daft Punk music video Daft Punk Star Wars... well at least it'd still be better than Lucas Star Wars.

I'm seriously considering just abandoning the thing entirely, trading in all my games, and using my old Laptop and XBMC to handle all my media streaming duties from now on. Just need to find a way to use a bluetooth remote to control the XBMC software.

I can't do $270 for a new PS3 right now and have zero interest in dealing with Sony's $160 out of warranty repair.

I was thinking the old school Tron from the 80s. But the new one was pretty solid as well, even if it really was like a 90 minute long Daft Punk video. Either way, we could potentially have a series of Star Wars movies, each as solid as Empire.

Having the best interview I've had in months, being told I'd hear back by the end of the week... and then not hearing back.

Following up and then waiting another two days before finally hearing back that I didn't get the job.

Woohoo full year of unemployment coming up!

My mistake--the original was great! Loved the new one too, just for different reasons.

That's rough. I went through that for quite a while, and I know how much it sucks. Good luck.
