Call your bank and ask to do a REG E dispute, chances are they will provide a courtesy credit, while the matter is researched, or at least they do at the bank I work at.
Already tried. It'll take the bank a week to remove the charge, minimum.
I’m not normally a fan of Twitter, but I would tweet the heck out of this to the CEO and add some mainstream news channels That might get results
You can try Twitter of course, but does your local TV news affiliate have a consumer advocacy line? If you get them involved, it's more likely to make them act more quickly. A lot of these companies don't care about your tweets if you only have a couple dozen followers.
"T-Mobile's mistake makes family return gifts in order to eat on Christmas Eve" is an eye-catching headline if I ever saw one.
Bought a bunch of BLM stickers and came across a ALM sticker. Personally I find ALM movement that only exist to oppose BLM. So finding a all lives matter sticker rubbed me the wrong way.
What kind of f*ckery is that? I’ve been tempted to make BLM slaptags. Haven’t. Likely won’t. Inspired by Miles Morales tho.
Shingles is awful. I'm in so much pain.
Also, I'm in a fantasy basketball league and I learned after the draft that the draft went on without me. I wasn't made aware of the day we were drafting, because my friend of 27 years who brought me into the league 12 years ago, hasn't spoken to me since March. I assume it's because he's a Republican and I'm a Democrat and I've lashed out on FB generally over the behavior of the Republican Party.
What a strange way to learn our friendship is likely over.
I loathe that the Christmas "miracle" I'm hoping for is for the mere opportunity to give NVIDIA $800.

Oh man! Shingles SUCKS!!
So does finding out that a friend now considers you a former friend. And the way you found out is shitty indeed.
when people assume just because you don't turn into a raging f*ckstick within two comments, something is just an abstract thought experiment to you.
I don't need some hypothetical meant to cause reassessment through hyperbole when the memory of the real thing is less than a year old.
I would say the silver lining is being reminded that I never updated my emergency contact, but with my emergency contact gone, contacting someone can wait, as it's no longer an emergency.
I feel your pain Trichy. We did a similar thing with T-mobile and when I got the first bill I noticed the phones weren't on there from the old plan. So I called, they said it would be fixed and I should see it on the next bill or the one after because we were so close to the end of the current billing cycle. Fine. Next two bills nothing. Call again. Assured its in process.
3 weeks later I am getting a call from a collection agency for the amount of my phones. We were planning on leaving T-mobile anyway because their service sucks the moment you get 10 feet from an urban area and this just makes it all the easier.
Hell we only ever had them because they were the cheapest option for 4 lines back when the kids were on my plan.
Verizon really is comically better than every other provider in the US.
Shame about them being Verizon, though.
Are you okay cheeze?
As heated as language can get in places on GWJ, we do care about each other when it comes down to it.
Sorry to hear you are going through shingles DS. I am thankful every day over the last 2 months that my doctor recommended getting the shingles vaccine. (it made me groggy for 4-5 days)
Makes me happy I stuck with my TracFone.

They are indeed the most skillfully baked shit pie available in the united states. If only we lived in one of those countries that has access to fruit pies.
I am fine, fangblackbone, thanks for asking. I'm just a little bit wiser about how seriously to take people.
The pandemic has sort of put us in a state of flux where we don't want to completely isolate but a lot of people are showing their true colors at the same time. I hope things change once we get passed this but there are definitely many genies we won't and shouldn't put back in the bottle.
I have had to reinvent myself so many times that the good news is we never lose the ability to become wiser as we age. Glad you are okay and sorry that some individual(s) let you down.
This is the current visibility in the state of Minnesota:
If you can get a shingles vaccine, get one.
Shingles sucks and it's more or less preventable. You can get shingles randomly out of nowhere (the doc will blame stress) if you have had chicken pox before.
"Yeah randomly". Most people get shingles from trying to screw their house. The doctors just don't want to house shame people. This is why I always use protection when screwing things into my house.
The only way we can see people for Christmas (outside our own bubble) is outside, so we put a party tent and bought a terrace heater. So OF COURSE it's super windy and hailing rain for Christmas, as a final f*ck you from 2020 to all of us.

We're supposed to have severe storms with high wind and possible tornados.

The drive to work this morning was already dicey. Santa's gonna have to break out the high performance sled.

Santa relies on quantum mechanics to get everything delivered on time. He’ll be fine.

I've been working for Verizon for 18 years so I'll take that as a compliment, I think.

I’ve had very few issues with AT&T as a cell provider. I’ve been a customer for 25 years. I realize that other's experiences have differed.
I tried DirectTV, which in my area is controlled by AT&T, and both the service and the customer service is total garbage. Avoid at all cost.
Verizon, though! I had a traumatic experience with those guys circa 2001. One of their representatives committed sales fraud and identity theft against me. Verizon’s stance was that since he was a 3rd party representative, they would do absolutely nothing to help me out. Then, they added insult and injury upon the already suffered insult and injury by claiming that I owed them $300.00 for a contract violation. They hounded me with harassing phone calls and threatened to ruin my credit by sending me to collection.
A lawyer told me how to handle it and eventually Verizon conceded. This happened as my wife and I were preparing to purchase our first home. The way Verizon behaved was completely unconscionable and I will never do business with them again. I don’t care how much they’ve improved in recent years, I’ll never give them money.
Sorry, DeThroned. That’s not meant to be a critique of your character in any way. You’re clearly part of the reason why Verizon is so renowned today.
My wife just developed a cough. Going to get tested at noon, but that means isolation for her until we get the results of the test back. Given we have a new puppy, and that christmas is tomorrow, Dumpsterfire 2020 is right on track.

I had this happen in 2016, and only caught the identity theft because there was a package from AT&T at my house one day with phones and a tablet in my name. Just want to mention that the thief had done the same with Verizon and they were able to catch the fraud before the equipment was shipped out, and as soon as I showed them the police report they shut the accounts down. It was one of the easier companies to deal with. I also had two banks, Hertz rental cars (that was a fun one), and a couple other things I'm blanking on at the moment.
However... my wife got a call from a collection agency a few nights ago that is bringing all this back up. They claim I had medical services rendered back in 2017 to the tune of $733.50. Considering I only get seen at military medical facilities which go directly through Tricare, I'm torn between this being a scam call posing as a collection agency or the identity thieves using my identity to get medical services. They weren't caught until towards the end of 2017.
I looked up the doctor they told me on the phone, and it was a surgeon in PA... which I haven't even driven through PA in nearly 20 years. I told them to send me a proof of debt by mail so I could look through it which mostly ended the call. Afterwards I pulled my credit reports and they show nothing being sent to collections, so now I'm just waiting to see if something shows up.
Probably a scam call.

All good. Like I said, not my department. And how much I'd love to say that my company is awesome and can do no wrong, that's a lie. There's definitely no perfect company out there. I'm glad you got it all taken care of, and also sorry to bring up a bitter memory from 19 years ago!
Covid and no pants dreams mixing into one dream. I knew I was in public and I was wearing my mask but it was not covering my nose.
Same feeling as a no pants dream but so dumb. I was wearing the mask already, just cover your nose dream me. Dream me is dumb.

I had the weirdest dream last night. I was supposed to be presiding over a church service in this huge church I've never seen before, and the tablet I was using had this strange program on it that was some sort of virtual reality thing, and I didn't know how to operate it so it kept shifting between reality and virtual reality, so at some point I ended up walking around wearing an oversized set of giraffe pajamas in the middle of a crowded church, except that it wasn't really a set because the top and bottom were different designs. Other things happened too, but I kind of wish I had that program in my waking life and so I loathe that I don't have it.
COVID really hasn't entered into my dream life in any way so masks just haven't entered into the equation at all there.
