Haha ok, from time to time

But if you saw some of these comments. Yikes.

The floor of your trunk usually lifts out so you could pull it out and then power wash it at a car wash. Sometimes the carpet is attached to a bit of paperboard though so if yours is that way maybe not do the car wash thing. If it is rubber on the back or the carpet comes loose from the paperboard then have at it.

Yep, did exactly that yesterday. Weirdly enough, spraying a 1:1 mixture of water and very cheap vodka helped a ton with the smell. More scrubbing today to get the rest of the visible gunk off should make a big difference.

I made the mistake of commenting on an article that discussed CD Project Red's (more specifically, Cyberpunk) questionable history with LGBTI+ issues. It was a simple "thanks for writing this, please don't think all of your readers are angry that you did this" sort of post.

I woke up this morning to a torrent of angry gamers throwing around insults like "SJW" and "snowflake". I know it's just internet arguments, but it really got to me. There was close to 20 replies to my post, all of them with really flimsy, ad hominem arguments.

It feels like gamer culture is so violently against any suggestion that something game-related can hurt people, and that those hurt can have legitimate feelings about it. I counted maybe 2 comments out of the hundreds that actually recognized that social and gender minorities can be legitimately damaged by mass media representation.

And I don't know where all of this is going. I woke up and instantly felt angry about the culture surrounding my favourite hobby. I'm thankful that GWJ is different, but I'm reminded once again why I just don't engage with Facebook.

Mrs Sorb once replied to a celebrity person here in the UK on Facebook. The celebrity was posting about looking after their 6 month old child how much they loved their kid but how tiring it was. I think mini-Sorb was maybe 18 months old at the time.

Mrs Sorb was basically saying ‘yeah it’s knackering but it’s totally worth it’.

Next day she quit Facebook completely thanks to her wall being plastered with vitriol from supporters of said celebrity thinking she was taking the piss, and vitriol from everyone else saying ‘She’s a fecking celebrity, she earns millions and probably has a staff of 20 people looking after the same kid. How dare you pay her a compliment!’

Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you say, people are just {sexist slur}s.

Don’t need to. I’m a woman on the internet!
Been dealing with that kind of sh*t since the 90s. Remind me to tell you the story of how our Realm online guildmaster had to take my picture down from the roster because of the emails. I was 14.

It'd be nice to have a $70 gaming mouse last two years before one of the buttons starts sending two events per click.

Is this a new thing? Never saw anything like it before I started buying from the "gamer" section of the store, but now it's happened to three mice in a row.

That's why I buy $15-20 gaming mice from Amazon. They tend to last 2-3 years so far, but if one broke in a year, I'd just buy a different one.

I never buy stuff marketed for gamers. The quality always seems to be worse, and the price is higher compared to normal office stuff. Particular for headphones and chairs. Snacks and drinks too now that I think about it.

I just buy Logitech stuff. Those tend to last a bit before conking out. I've bought 3 Razer products - keyboard, mouse, and headset. I'm never buying from them ever again.

I still use my Logitech Mx518 from 2011 at work.

I've had multiple Logitech products over the last few years conk out early.

Logitech replaced every single one.

I still buy mostly Logitech stuff.

I have two ~10 year old Logitech G series mice that get regular use and are still going. My MX518 made it to 7ish before the sensor died.

The only early failure was the wheel on a G703, and to back up what Legion said Logitech replaced that for free.

Of the other "gaming" peripheral brands that I see people buy a lot IMO Razer is the worst.

I've had the exact opposite experience. A 6 or 7 year old Razer died on me, and I replaced it with a Logitech, MX518 that lasted less than a year. I'm on a 6 year old Razer Death Adder right now. Wouldn't buy anything else.

My first two were different generations of Razer Deathadder, both started double clicking on mouse 1. Now I'm using a Logitech G something, and oddly it's doing the same thing on mouse 4, which you wouldn't think would be the first part to wear out, but there you are.

Unfortunately at the shop in my neighborhood it's either "gamer" mice or else office supply stuff with no side buttons, etc.

My deathadder is mostly fine after 4ish years, but the rubberized grip they put on it now looks like boogers. Also the left handed mouse is way over priced for what it is... Replaced with the Logitech g300s and really enjoy the extra buttons and the much crisper clicking action.

My Razor mouse likes to click twice a lot too. If/when it ever gives out, I won't be getting another, and I don't use all the buttons like I thought I would so there's no good reason to get another.

I hate that I'm feeling in both and up and down mood today.

Having read the last couple pages of the Cyberpunk thread here, I totally take this back. GWJ ain't different at all.

What's the over-under the thread will be locked because the fascist nazi transphobe f*cks are being polite and the marginalized are angry and vitriolic so maybe both sides need to just cool off?

It has become one of those threads I wish I could remove from my Recent Threads list. I try to stay out of this stuff when things get like they are. As a hetero white male I have very little to contribute to either side of the discussion and some of the people in the thread just seem to baiting people on the other side now. I am all for people speaking their minds and standing up for what they believe in, but at the same time I just want to talk about a rad looking game that I am excited to play.

Can't people just argue about Keanu Reeves acting ability?

Are people really surprised that a Cyberpunk game demands political analysis?

I think one side here is entirely justified in their anger and doesn't need to cool off at all. In fact, it is the rest of us who should be getting angrier and picking up the slack. We can help them by showing up and spending our resources to shut down the transphobes instead of forcing them to justify their own existence to every polite, gaslighting, sealioning troll that crawls out of the woodwork.

Yup. But I was already told to leave the thread so..

Rykin wrote:

It's not about standing up for what we believe in, it's about standing up for ourselves.

So you don't believe in yourself? This is what I was saying you are trying to start an argument over semantics here.

I think we're done here.

Almost every cultural thing has had a history of being sh*tty to people, and most are currently being sh*tty to at least some marginalized group. Making things objectively better is important, and not simply a matter of standing for a subjective belief.
