GOG.com What's good on there?

Mad Max on PC is just £3.29 at the moment (works out just over $4 US), but if you use the code CDKEYSCYBER10, you'll get another 10% off.

Steam download.

Sorry, meant to put that in the Deals thread. For future reference, how to I delete a post?

You can't delete posts directly. The standard practice around here is to just edit your post and put a "nevermind" or "wrong thread" message.

Gotcha. Thanks CptDomano.

I can't help but read all of your posts as anxious Butters

Galaxy does allow the ability to go completely offline, choose install locations, copy installers, turn off automatic updates, and even roll back to prior versions. Basically it does everything Steam does without being a jerk about it. It's friendly enough that when possible I've moved away from Steam and towards Galaxy.

Edit: In addition to all those great file management features you can turn on and off any of the social elements of the platform. I use it solely to list my library, get to the GoG store quickly and manage updates.

You forgot one thing: GOG Connect. It's awesome that some developers have said "hey, you don't have to buy the game twice."

This is why I buy from Humble primarily. You get the Humble copy and a Steam copy (usually) and eventually you get one from GOG Connect. Win-win.

In this case, that is probably fair! I didn't know anything about grey markets previously. Glad to have been educated.

Outwith that, must just be the craziness of my work coming through, as I'm not normally anxious!

I'm guessing my avatar probably doesn't help either...

I have never played it but I have only ever heard this level of enthusiasm about it:

Oh I'm grabbing it. We should do a GWJ night.

That may have been the fastest I have ever whipped my credit card out.

SWAT 4 is a magical game.

Step 1: Open door
Step 2: Throw bean bag grenade into the room
Step 3: Close door
Step 4: Open door, cuff unconscious baddies

YES!

Oh, as for a multiplayer night, I'm doing my own next week if anyone would like to join:

Calendar - https://www.spacegamejunkie.com/cale...
Discord - https://discord.gg/dEfyMtP

If you guys make your own, please let me know and I will try to be there. I love this game so much.

I'm in! I've not played the game in forever, so please be kind, and I've also not played a game with Goodjers since college (I just turned 30), but... I can't not play SWAT 4.

I see no reason not to make that GWJ night as well.

What's the server situation like? Someone just hosts?

You need to use a virtual LAN service like Evolve, GameRanger or Hamachi. I've used them all and Evolve is the best.

http://evolvehq.com/

Basically you install evolve and someone hosts a "Party". Once everyone has joined the party, it tricks your PC to thinking you're on the same LAN.

If you're on Windows 10, there's a teensy fix you have to do once you join a party to get the network adapter to work

Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7il...
Text - Evolve Windows 10 Fix....... go to Device Manager > Evolve Virtual Ethernet Adapter > Advanced Tab > and set the Value for the Mac Address to "0" and this fixes it

Once you all have green lights, it's smooth sailing from that.

GOOMGGGGGGG! Hidden and Dangerous y'all! Both of 'em!

https://www.gog.com/news/release_hid...

Technically you can grab those a legit freeware anyway, but presumably these versions work out of the box on modern kit?

If so...well worth it. Loved those games

Nope, just the first one, and the deluxe one at that, which APPARENTLY is different from the original first game, but is included!

Hidden & Dangerous! There's a blast from the past. I was enthralled by one of those games, I forget which, and was absolutely gutted to find out my computer couldn't run it. I had to return my copy and make do with a fix here and there at a friend's house. (Thanks, Spikeout.) It may have to go on my gaming bucket list now.

Some of the lesser known Sierra-era adventure games are starting to pop up on GOG now. First it was the Laura Bow Series back in February, and just yesterday Codename: Iceman dropped.

Now I'm really having to wrack my brain to see if there are any old games from the early 90s that I'm still waiting on. Pretty sure GOG has me covered now. I guess it's just Conquests (Longbow/Camelot) now?

They've still got a ways to go with Sierra's catalog. They're missing most of the Dynamix titles, Conquests series, Manhunter series, Gold Rush! (which changed hands a while back anyways), and the titles that were part of the Discovery series (EcoQuest, Dr. Brain, Pepper's Adventures in Time).

WTF. No spaceships.

So much good stuff. Got World in Conflict since the Steam version no longer seems to work.

Tried it a week ago, wouldn't load.
