Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Awesome website

I love scrolling through the banner..

I loved the first title and I'm looking forward to the new one. I thought it had a perfect blend of Arcade and RPG action.

I liked it too. Getting it as part of my 360 bundle was a bonus, but it was a really solid game. I'm looking forward to seeing some new characters, and possibly some updates to the costume system. I'd love to be able to have 2 costumes at once, and able to switch between them at will (think Spiderman switching to the Black costume in Web of Shadows).

I loved the first game and I can't wait to play the sequel. Can't wait I tell you!

The scrolling banner is awesome. I wish I had read some of the Civil War comics before this.

I'm still hesitant. Handing over the development to a company that usually makes DS games could result in it being a resurgence of fresh ideas or a broken disaster.

I've played through the first one twice and a half. There is TONS of content in that game, and I hope the next one is just as long. Could do without the underwater bits though.

I'm pretty stoked for this.

They're going with the Civil War crossover for this? Oh sweet. Definite rental, possible purchase if the gameplay lasts.

I rarely get my girlfriend to play games with me but we were* really enjoying the first one.

I use the past tense because we ran into the bug where all our unlocked characters and abilities re-locked after putting 6+ hours into it. Think of playing an RPG and putting all your stats towards the coolest high level spell, then starting it up the next day and only to have it back at level one with no way to re-level it! I subscribed to multiple threads on different forums and to this day people are still posting about it. They never patched it and the only solution provided was to unplug your xbox from live while playing and start the game over.

Everyone beat up Castle Crashers for a similar bug but at least they patched it. I'll wait and see if this one is bug free before giving them any more money.

My Marvel-Fan-Boy soul will not allow me to not buy this. It is a forgone conclusion.

The cutscenes look like ass, I really liked the cutscenes on the previous one, it was like a really well made movie =(

I didn't play it but I watched my brother and damn those cutscenes were awesome.

edit: Here's a sample, it still looks good I think... Captain America is awesome

I really, really liked the first one, but I must say that the sequel looks pretty poor, considering there's three years between games.

I'll still buy it though, because I'm a sucker for the brand.

Bah. I liked the first game, and will probably get the second, but the whole Civil War series was just ass.

Why's that?

I think it will still sell a ton, but it does seem lower quality compared to the previous game. Like Cptglanton says, it's been like 3 years... I was just hoping for like a movie based on those cutscenes =)

If there's QTE's in this one, I'm out.

Never could get past that gay water level in the first one. But I'm a pretty huge Marvel fan so I'll probably pick this one up.

I mostly liked Civil War, but sadly my expectations were correct: they completely blew every chance they had of making an interesting and long-term change in the Marvel universe using the events of the story.

This will be a rent for sure, and most likely a buy. I don't remember if you could have local people at home play and have people online jump in, but I'm hoping this one allows it.

The Civil War story line will be interesting in this format to tsee how it comes out. I think it is going ot be great just from the standpoint of being able to fight some heroes as well as villains.

Wow, I thought you guys were just Female Doggoing, but those videos are not impressive. It's like they need one or two more texture passes. Hopefully they polish things up in the next six months.

It's probably just the PS3 holding back development.

I'M JUST KIDDING!

Battling evil-doers with various Marvel heroes with a RPG stat system is like ambrosia for my Marvel-Fan-Boy soul.

I can understand where you're coming from though.

We still play MUA off and on with the pc and it really scales well to 1920 x 1080. Gameplay is relatively kid friendly with a 360 controller but there is a surprising amount of depth to the combat. The cut scenes were mostly well done, with the exception of the preening, strutting Loki hehe. I don't remember Ms Marvel being such a stone cold fox in the comics either. Will be watching this one closely!

I'll agree that the video isn't too impressive, but there still work to be done... And doing the Civil War storyline should ensure at least two play-throughs.

I've been meaning to replay the first one. I guess I had better get on with it now!

MUA 1 is still going for near to full price at retail in the UK on the 360.

Ah, yes. The "GAY" water level. That's where you recruit Northstar and the Rawhide Kid.

That's criminal!.. Wait, the Gold edition is $40 here. Not what I would consider cheap either.

And lol @ Matt's post.

And you get the regular version for ten bucks that's packaged with Forza 2.

Link? They're $30 on amazon, and probably comes complete with "Not For Resale" stickers... You can get them for $6 used on Amazon as well.

Still, the asking price (not the off-the-truck bargain price), is higher than I would have expected.

The original cutscenes were done by Blur studios and were some of the best game cinematics I've ever seen. The in-engine cinematics on the other hand... It looked like they used the PS2 version for the in-engine scenes, giving Captain America a blank lifeless stare that made me laugh every time he talked.

I forgot how awesome the Nightcrawler cinematic was in the first game. I would buy a game that played as awesome as that cutscene looked.

Just watched the promo movie and yeah, not the same polish as the first game. I'm hoping though, that what we are looking at is more in game cinematic using the game engine, than CG cut scenes. If that is the case I'm fine with what we are being shown. I do know that the new team up powers look to be awesome, and will hopefully be integrated much better than the first game and X-men Legends 2

Ahaha, yeah the ingame cutscenes were awful, at least the Thor I saw had a horrible mullet made of polygons (and moustache I think).

Those cutscenes were awesome, for sure. I saw the Galactus one and DAAAAAAMN, that's how it should've been in that FF4 movie... And the ending was awesome too. They should hire those guys again, but maybe it was too expensive.

No PC version this time? Not good. At all.

Necro-thread! I just started playing Ultimate Alliance II with my seven year old. The basic beat-em-up, co-op gameplay in M:UA and M:UA2 still holds up really well. I would love to see this series revived/remastered for the current generation.

These games were such wonderful tributes to the Marvel universe. It seems like such a shame that they are basically forgotten.
