If you're paying to get into it, it's an aquarium.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that the answer to "what is the line between an aquarium and soup" is "your lips".
How can I stop Google determining my location by IP? It thinks my IP is in Las Vegas.
The only suggestions I've been able to find online are:
1) restart my internet gateway (does not work)
2) report the error to Google and wait a few months until they fix it
3) use a browser plugin that can configure location anywhere you want (also does not work, Google still uses IP)
Not being able to disable this is ridiculous.
You forgot option 4 - stop using Google.

Okay, give me a better option for a shopping search that includes local stores. I'll wait.
I know google sucks, and I don't use it for general searches, but it does do a couple of things reasonably well. If you can convince it of your location, that is.
Does Google maps get your location wrong too? Usually when I'm looking to buy stuff locally I'll use that instead.
What does your PC think your location is? Perhaps it's not a Google issue but something with how your PC is configured.

All Google services get it wrong.

It's an IP thing. I have a Verizon gateway, and the IP I am assigned was apparently in Las Vegas at some point in the past. Windows Location Manager shows my location based on my home address.
I supposed you've tried this, but in case not:
Have you tried manually setting your location in Windows?
Yep. Google doesn’t use that. I can’t get it to use anything other than IP address.

Have you enabled the setting to allow your browser to send your location to www.google.com?

yeah this should work. I was just trying Google maps on my PC and it was not detecting any location at all. After I set the default in Windows and restarted my browser it began to work. This was with Edge, so I can't speak to Chrome or other browsers.

I am not sure what you mean, but have you tried DuckDuckGo? I use it and when I search for something like Costco, it shows me a map with the local stores and their hours and such just like Google.

Have you considered just moving to Las Vegas?
Lately, some podcasts I listen to have had location based ads. But, they are always something in either Mandan or Minot, ND. I'm about four hours from Fargo, which is right on the ND border. Mandan is more than halfway through the state and Minot is about the same but further north. I'm not going to drive 8-9 hours to go to a car dealership that I heard about on a podcast.
It seems like computers are somehow just really shit at figuring out where you are.

I’m searching for places to order specific products. Usually Google Shopping is great for this because it surfaces a lot of online ordering options even for obscure products.
I should just search on my phone I guess. It knows where I really am.

What is the most amount of positions someone in America could be voting on in a single election? Theoretically could someone be electing the president, federal senator, federal congressman, state governor, state senator, assemblyman, local offices in November? Is there any limit?
No, there is no effective limit. How big is your municipality? How many school board/port authority etc positions are there in your municipality?
Toss in ballot initiatives too (if your state has them), and the limit there is only how many people there are collecting signatures to get those initiatives on the ballot.
It is pretty normal around here to have 15-20 positions on the ballot.
Federal, state, county, city/town. Judges, sheriffs, comptrollers, the list is practically endless.

Late Early 90s or Early Mid 90s. Depends on whether you are a glass-half-full sort of person.

I'd say tail end of early.
