Nope, haven't seen one.

I think he means one of these: http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/1...

I have some extra ones that came with my Steelseries glass mousepad. PM me an address, and I will mail them to you for free if you would like. They've just been sitting in a drawer forever. The standard pads on the G500 work just fine for me.

Cool. Thanks tuffalobuffalo. You're a real sweety.

I know they are also sold in hardware stores.

Yea that is the one.

I asked this a few years ago and didn't get an answer. I'll try again since there are more users now.

Trying to remember the name of a rap song, maybe from the 80s or 90s. It's upbeat, I think it has a horn sample. Some of the lyrics, as best I can remember them:

'I ain't no pimp / but if I was, dig it/ I'd get a pink 18 wheeler and rig it/ with spoke mags and white walls and redlights for headlights/ and a payload of fillies in fishnet tights / [something thing] / hard as a rock I'd haul the rig down to the dock / clock dumb dollars off lonely sailors / then I'd buy a few more tractor trailers'.

I think it had verses about opening a barber shop called the razor's edge (doing high tops and fades) and maybe being an astronaut. I think the chorus was 'If I was'

This has been annoying me for years.

The lyrics don't really line up exactly, but kinda reminds me of Skee-lo's "I Wish"

I, too, wish I was a baller and that I was a little bit taller. Thanks for the effort, but that's not it.

Still a classic rap tune. Too bad he never did anything after that.

Here, Rykin, I made this: http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/1...

My house has bass-ackwards heating.

I have central air in some rooms, which is controlled by a programmable thermostat. However, the kitchen and bathroom have seperate electric baseboard heaters that are controlled by simply dial thermostats (i.e. not programmable).

What I would love is to replace the kitchen and bathroom thermostats with something that is either programmable, or better yet, wirelessly talks to the main programmable thermostat so that the kitchen and bathroom are kept at the same temperature as the rest of the house.

Any ideas, Goodjer Hivemind?

Snap into a Slim Jim?

(split ductless like that Mitsubishi seems a good way to go)

Nuke it from orbit, that's the only way to be sure.

Well, that would ensure that all regions in the house are approximately the same temperature... (Not a livable temperature, but you can't have everything!)

Is there a chip-tunes/VGM enthusiast thread on GWJ?

Just got my digital rewards from the Nubuwo Winter Bundle and stumbled head-long into this rearrangement of FF6's Awakening that I just want to shower on people:

OK, another one.

I'm trying to remember a quote I read about war. I think it was from a Greek or ROman philosopher. It something along the lines of only people that haven't been to war want to play at it, or perhaps children that play at war something something. Maybe something about dreaming about war and praying they're never i it.

An anti war quote. Quite profound. I'm searching now to with no luck.

Damn that is good. I have been wanting to replay FF3 (I die a little inside every time I call it FF6) and this doesn't help.

Forever Rachel has always been my favorite. So sad and beautiful:

And of course Celes' theme because of the opera scene. Easily one of the greatest game soundtracks ever. FF2 (FF4) had some great ones as well and that same artist did one of the best: Rydia's Theme.

I didn't know about that, bad ken. Thanks.

You guys just hit me right in the "Logged about 10 hours of FF VI over the holidays and want to play more". It's a very sensitive spot, kinda like my bathing suit area.

Where did I put my car keys?

Sounds similar to Sherman's quote, although lacking the "play" element.

It is only those who have never heard a shot, never heard the shriek and groans of the wounded and lacerated ... that cry aloud for more blood, more vengeance, more desolation.

Is there a method by which one can estimate the cost of a tattoo or does it vary from shop to shop?

Haven't gotten many, but I can tell you that each shop will differ based on overall surface area of the tattoo.

The shops I've looked at have an hourly rate that differs from artist to artist; beyond that, the length of time it takes depends on the size and complexity of the tattoo, I'd assume

I meant to play Super Metroid and A Link to the Past over the break but instead I put a ton of time into Far Cry 3 and a marathon of a couple of seasons of Stargate SG-1 (I had forgotten how good of a show this was).

Oh question: we just had a Pho place open in our neighborhood, as someone who has never had it what should I try? One catch: I don't like fish/shellfish. Also how do you pronounce Pho? I've heard it said like foe, is that correct?

I've had Pho once. I went with my Asian friends of varying heritage. They all pronounced it like foe. They all told me to get a cut of fatty red-meat. I'm not big on red meat or veins of fat so I compromised and tried a lean cut of steak. I was skeptical, especially of steak in a soup, but it was really good. Next time I go back I'll try a vegetarian or seafood pho, but that's just my palette.

Is there a way to see how much time you've put into a game on the Xbox?

For beef Pho, there are basically 4 ingredients you can choose from: lean slices of meat, brisket meat (very stringy and marbled, but full of flavour), tripe, tendons. You can have them individually or in various combinations with each other.

My suggestion to you would be to try brisket, or brisket and lean meat combo first. Unless you know what tendons and/or tripe is like and want it in your soup. Once you figure out that you like Pho with brisket/lean meat, try adding one of the others to it as a combo. That way even if you don't like their texture, you still have something else to eat.

In a similar vein, there's also this one.
