Castle Catch All.

I approve of that party.

Guessing that was the 100th episode?

I don't generally watch previews or whatever, or any other show on ABC besides Modern Family, so wouldn't have seen any "coming up on Mon, Castle's 100th" promo.

But the line about how many cases, oh about 100, seemed like a wink at the audience.

EDIT: Yes, it was. Here's a nice article with Fillon, Katic, and the creator.

Yes. Also the blood/ink that is usually at the point of the pen on the title card was replaced by the number 100.

I loved the episode last night.

Spoiler:

The usual formulaic nature of the show actually became a strength as I was looking for the mundane twist and not the surprise party. Well done.

Happy Castle Day!

Spoiler:

Bigfoot

tonight I hear?

"Who's Darrell Meeks?"

"Who's Darrell Meeks?"

So it seems that they are starting to set up the end of the relationship. Either that or a wedding.

Yeah I think that was more a "get serious or you're going to lose her" drama. Maybe a proposal in the season finale.

Show can't go forever. Would like to see them married at some point before it's over.

Ditch the captain. No fault of the actress, but they really haven't done anything with her. She likes sticking to the rules, has a husband, is mostly grouchy, and likes to collect dolls. Whatever.

I've been calling a breakup since forever. When it happens, I'll have to dig up my old post.

They'll break up at the end of this season, but find a compelling reason to keep fighting crime together - possibly developments with Senator Bracken, or 3XK. Then one of them will almost die, they'll remember how much they care for each other, and they'll reunite for good. The end.

Spoilers!!

I feel so sure about this that I wondered if I should spoiler tag it.

Happy Monday Castle Day!

I'm such a sucker for nostalgia, this episode was amazing.

Hah yeah one of the best clip shows ever.

And a nice bit with the Captain at the end.

I think that clip shows are lazy tv, but I have to admit, this one was well done.

This show was supposed to play last week, and last week's was suppose to be this week, but they changed it after the Boston bombings. I cannot imagine going from this show's "we love each other forever" to last week's show's "why doesn't he/she love me?" And if next week plays more off of last week's theme, then this week's show is going to be stand-out-jarring. I am not certain what way the writers are trying to take this relationship.

I guess that makes sense. My wife commented about the bomber being so soon after Boston.

Buffy had an episode in s3 (Earshot) where there were some lines about a school shooting and it was due to air the week after Columbine. It got pulled until the summer.

Surprised they were able to make the switch on Castle, just 7 hours after the incident.

The Captain is more bearable if you think of her as Cassidy Yates (DS9) instead of Mrs. Palmer (24).

Yeah, this order worked a lot more logically.

Wait, so the timeline is supposed to go from them nearly dying and professing their love for each other to immediately being unsure of their relationship? Ummm, yeah, wait what?

"Plausible deniability" FTW.

That would have made the episode before last even more annoying, and it was already pretty annoying for me.

Kate sees an actor that looks exactly like Castle buy jewelry for another woman as part of an elaborate conspiracy fingering Castle for cheating on her and murder, but she trusts him throughout.

"Oh no, Kate is spending time with a guy even richer and more good-looking than me! Toddler tantrum time!"

Was that Carlos Bernard, aka 24's Tony Almeida, tonight?

I knew I remembered him from somewhere!

The preview for the season finale is strongly hinting that my longtime theory is going to be correct!

Finale night!

Bravo, I didn't see that coming. I am dumb. It's nice to see their story evolve more than past years, but I can't be the only one thinking that the mystery/case portion has suffered greatly because of it. I don't think many of the weekly cases this season were very interesting, and when they were it due to a special or thematic episode.

Spoiler:

Super happy about a change of case. Huh, see what I did there!?

Yeah, we didn't see that twist either. We figured it would end differently.

I can still be right on most or all of my theory...but now I've got to wait several months to find out.

I think it would be awesome if she took the job and the nature of the show changed for part of a season. Never happen, though. It's too hard to get a sufficient audience; you don't risk alienating them with a hard left turn. It's too bad, because I love the idea of a TV show drastically changing gears.
