Castle Catch All.

I approve.

ALL SPOILERS!!! TURN BACK NOW!!!

I thought it got pretty original towards the second half of tonight, which makes me wonder why they did soooooooooooo many rip-offs of Taken along the way. At least they gave it a hat tip, but damn, couldn't they at least use a different European city?

I guessed early on in the first part that Alexis was the target, since the writers were laying it on so thick that she was just a collateral kidnapping. Also guessed once they said that it was about who Alexis was that it was about Castle's father, and that this dude might be him.

I think it's kind of interesting that Castle and his father both tortured dudes (the latter off-camera) in the first episode.

Towards the second half of last night's show, I was really hoping Fillion would channel a small part of Captain Reynolds, but instead he did a great job of keeping the "fish out of water," scared stiff Castle face going throughout. Really enjoyed the way the wrapped it up, but I do have one BIG complaint: 3 freaking weeks before the next new episode?!?!? WHAT ARE THEY THINKING!?!?!?!

Yeah, three weeks is crazy! And they're following up their Taken copycat with a Ringu copycat?

Btw my wife and I also opted to delay part one until last night, and get the whole story in one sitting. I suppose we missed out on a week of going "PARIS?!?!? WTF!!!!?!", which might have been cool. That was a cool moment in the show.

Man, I fell asleep earlier last week than I thought I did because I completely missed Paris. Tonight's episode was pretty damn awesome though.

Spoiler:

Congrats, Castle! Your dad's a badass!

I liked the directions it took. It went from mildly cheesy to frickin' awesome real quick. Kudos to Molly Quinn. She really seemed scared.

I'm not sure I buy Castle's dad as a spy. Seems more suited for hotel management.

And yeah, I know I didn't spoiler-proof it. If you come to a show thread before watching the latest episode, you do so at your own risk, IMO.

I'm one of the zealous anti-spoiler crowd (which consists of annual meetings of Gaald and me) and I agree with that. No need to spoiler stuff that's aired. I'm a strict DVR watcher and I know to just avoid threads until I've watched the current EP. That's the standard even in the non-spoiler threads that will tar and feather you for posting upcoming show titles from Wikipedia.

What, you haven't noticed me at those gatherings? Granted, I sit in the back and rage silently.

Anyway, I agree with this.

I spoiler stuff the night of, because east coast vs west coast. But yeah, once it's the next day, why haven't you watched yet?!

I spoiler stuff the day after just in case someone didn't catch it yet.

Spoiler fanatic, and I agree with the last few posts. With the exception of course that the teasers that play right after the episode, I still consider spoiler territory.

Anyways, enough of that.

First of all, I loved when they brought in Jacque (Christopher Heyerdahl) the French independent contractor. Heyerdahl is a really good actor and played that part perfectly. But then the twist and we get James Brolin who plays an even more bad ass character! Then we find out he's Castle's father and all of a sudden so much of the connections Castle has with the FBI and stuff makes even more sense!

Really good two part episode. It sucks they are taking 3 weeks off, but at least it gives me time to watch some of my other shows.

Happy Monday! Castle is finally back!

And there are now Castle trading cards!

...why, I have no idea.

Special Guest Star Wes Craven.

Yeah, I really dug that episode. They can pull off creepy and funny quite well. I loved the Halloween episode they did with the house/ghost hunters.

I did not like the episode that much. Maybe it was the lack of Martha and Alexis.

Alexis does make everything better.

I don't think so. There's times when they just force her into an episode just to have a family moment, aka the morning talks.

I think it's awesome that Castle has Craven's phone number memorized. Not even just a contact in his cell--actually dialed the number.

Wes Craven looked like he had a lot of fun doing that cameo.

Fun episode. I like the "driving at night in the middle of nowhere" horror-movie schtick. Reminds me of In The Mouth of Madness, my favorite horror movie.

I enjoy when they kind of mash-up a different genre into the show.

I enjoy Martha, and Alexis is fine, but I can't say I missed them this episode. This was a zany/horror episode.

REALLY enjoyed the bit where Espo was letting Castle know how much he valued his friendship.

Castle said "cabin in the woods", but I was hoping for another Whedon nod there.

Saw a rerun on TNT this week where one guy convinces another guy that they should commit opposite murders... one guy kills the other's wife while the other kills the guy's father.

Um... just watched Strangers on a Train a few weeks ago on Amazon Prime, still catching up on old movies I hadn't seen. Interesting copy of that story.

Another interesting copy? The Lonely Island's Motherlover (NSFW).

Overall the episode was fun, but I felt that they cheated to prolong the suspense which annoyed me a little bit. Seems like the "testified against a serial killer" link should have been discovered a lot sooner. Also, the medical examination "No bruises, cuts, or punctures. Well, ok, there were two punctures, with really weird burn marks, maybe from a modified super powerful taser? I dunno, that's probably nothing, I'll just leave that out of the report."

Well, the ME is no Laney.

I believe it was a melee taser, not a stun gun, so I don't think there would be any punctures. No idea about burns, though - I thought of that, too.

my biggest complaint was Kate's make up. She looked like a mannequin through that whole episode.

Happy Monday!

New Castle!
