Castle Catch All.

Fillion so carries this show. His partner has been just a bit too much of a "straight man", but this last episode she's been a little better.

I think she's great. She's not been given much of a character other than "tough, attractive cop" until this last episode. This isn't great, life-changing tv, but it sure is well-made candy. We're eating it up here at casa del lobster.

Agree with this completely.

And to anyone that's watching this but never tried watching The Mentalist, you should really give it a shot. It's a procedural drama, like so many others, but like Castle it actually has a sense of humor. Both shows make me laugh pretty regularly and have their standout characters. They overcome the procedural nature of the show by dropping the oppressively serious attitude some of the other things on right now just can't seem to get away from.

The only show I've been watching that I liked sitting down for better than these two shows was Life, and that one's unfortunately done at least for the season.

Is it just me, or did Lady Detective seem more enthusiastic in this episode? I liked that. Sure, you can have a reluctant cop grudgingly see that the author can help. Or, in this case, they can both get into it and actually do some good. That was cool.

I like every episode more and more. Here's to hoping they don't cancel it.

Was last night the season finale? I didn't see a "next week" so I'm guessing so. I hope it gets picked back up next season.

I agree, this is a very well done show. After last night's episode, my wife says, "Ok let's watch the next one now." She didn't realize that we were not a week behind Castle like we have been getting on lot of shows lately (due to having better stuff to do than watch TV). She's going to be real disappointed if that was the finale.

I think that the writers put in a hook about that possibility... Given her outrage over Castle even asking about her mothers murder and that they would be done if he looked into it (after he already had), and the episode ends with him talking to her about the case... If the series is canceled we can assume that she refused to talk to him any more, or next season we go off with a whole new arc about looking for her mothers killer, with a MotW thrown in.

QFT. Bring it back, ABC!

Normally I would say that this show was way too good to survive the morons in network television, but since they shoehorned in a model to play one of the parts, it's got a shot.

Who was the model?

His daughter?

Wasn't Stana Katic a model?

If not, can someone call Maxim for me and get that remedied?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stana_K...

Stana Katic (born 26 April 1978) is a Canadian film and television actress active in the United States. Stana Katic was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and is of Croatian decent. Katic moved with her family to Aurora, Illinois in 1979. After graduating from West Aurora High School in 1996, she studied acting at Chicago's Goodman School of Drama.

In addition to English, she speaks Italian, French and Serbo-Croatian (Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian).

Stana plays the character of Hana Gitelman in Heroes, Collette Stenger in 24 's season 5, and Jenny in the Morgan Freeman-starring film Feast of Love. She also played Morgenstern in Frank Miller's newest film The Spirit, Corinne Veneau in new Bond movie Quantum of Solace, and Simone Renoir in the third installation of The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice.

Sounds like an actress to me. I also think she does a hell of a job in her role. I'm not going to fault her for being hot enough to do Maxim.

Be careful of the blind faith in Wikipedia

Not blind faith. It has sources, unlike the hoax you linked to. Wiki is perfectly acceptable for these kinds of discussions, because if I'm wrong, someone will always post some evidence to refute it. However, if I was writing an article on her, and being paid for the work, I would need more than Wiki to support what I wrote.

Would it have been better if I posted her IMDB entry instead? Or would I need to post clips of her actually appearing in those films? Maybe if I could track down her paycheck stubs? Would that seal the deal?

Seriously, wiki works because you can check sources if the information is important. Just because some reporters failed to do their due diligence does not make anything quoted from there false.

What I can't find, however, are any of the photos of her or references to her appearing in Maxim.

And again, far from shoehorning, she does a great job in the role.

"Santa's not real, but we still like opening his presents."

I really hope this show keeps going. Ten episodes has only whetted my appetite.

I was definitely bummed that was the season finale. This show very quickly became one of my favorite things to watch every week.

Ok, just head's up. my posts lean a little towards the sarcastic side. Sometimes into full fledged jokes. But, thanks for educating me on that new "Wiki" thing, I have never been on the internet before and did not know of such things.

Why so serious?

This and House are the only things I watch on a regular basis (unless you count a standing DVR order for Good Eats). Any update on the cancellation status? Last I read it was still considered to be "on the bubble".

No word yet, but IIRC, ABC should be releasing their fall schedule sometime next week.

Finally watched the season ender last night. Good episode. Dying to know what was found in her mother's case file.

They'd better bring it back for another season.

Did the ending of yours get cut off? The ME that Castle took the case file to explains what's up:

[color=white]
The medical examiner essentially tells Castle that her mother was murdered very specifically (the kidney wounds) and that a few other people were killed the same way around the same time. So it seems that if they're coming back for a second season we'll have them hunting down a serial killer, most likely over the course of the entire season with crimes of the week.

Hmm. I thought there was more to it. The medical examiner was going to tell Castle something else, but we don't hear what it is he told him. Or am I mis-remembering?

This show makes me happy. Fantastic entertainment. Fillion is doing everything I loved him for in Firefly, and that's enough for me right now.

There was clearly something else going on beyond what we hear the ME say. Didn't you note the ominous music playing while the star of the show stared morosely out the window? Very telling.

Another copycat killer using one of his books as inspiration?

That would be a nice reset.

Well this is a good start to a Saturday morning: ABC renews Castle. Yay!

That's good news.

Nice to hear about a good being taken care of. This could be a very solid show for a number of years becuase it doesn't try to do too much. But what it does, it does very well.

Wow, Castle and Dollhouse... some network exec must have the GWJ forums bookmarked.
