Zune Pass Subscription Change

From Engadget:

Microsoft has just announced that, beginning today, Zune Pass users will be able to select ten tracks per month to keep forever (and ever, and ever), and the $14.99 monthly subscription rate isn't headed up. Agreements have been miraculously nailed down between Microsoft and EMI Music, Sony BMG Music, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group, not to mention a number of independent distributors.

That just sounds ... well... Nice.

That do sound nice. Really nice.
Really close to me getting a zune nice.

Not only do you keep 10 tracks, but the tracks are DRM-free.

I think I may be sold.

That is nice, but I seemed to be hooked on Amazon's MP3 service. I'll be working on a home video, think of a song that might make it better, hop on over to Amazon, and 99 cents later, have the song. Amazon has turned into my obscure, one-song storage spot. There. I've admitted it -- I'm hooked on Amazon.

To put it in perspective, the service is 15$/month. 10 tracks free/month at the value of $.99/track equals service is 5$/month with a free album per month and the ability to sample full albums without time limits all the time. Damn good deal, will it break the ipod monopoly (heh yeah right) or even cause apple to offer something similar, remains to be seen.

It wont.. but for the Zune faithful this is a pretty sweet deal.. and certainly keeps me signed up for another 6 months. Wish more GWJ'ers would make the switch and get on the Zune's social list.. its cool to browse other peoples choice of music and actually be able to download it easy and fast.

Agreed...I used the search function, but haven't found a Zune tag list here on the forums. Shall I start one?

Yes, I'd like to see what everyone is listening to.

Anyone going to make a thread? If not, my Zune tag is Scathar.

Thread here.

For those of us that also have 360's, most likely the Zune tag is going to be the same as your 360 tag.
