Random non sequitur posts catch-all thread

I watched one video on some channel about the recent Fallout 4 update and the issues it introduced. There was nothing in that video to indicate their political leanings, but their other videos must have had a bias because I started getting all these recommendations from Anti-woke youtubers about how diversity and the LGBTQ were ruining gaming.

I quickly removed the offending video from my view history and everything returned to normal.

Strange how well you think the algorithm knows you but then you watch one wrong video and it's like it doesn't know you at all.

Doing the “Not Interested” and “Don’t Recommend Channel” seems to help too.

Oh, I've been doing that religiously for years now, which is what makes the switch so ridiculous.

I can have told it not to give me Joe Rogan interviews with Jordan Peterson 5,000,000 times, watched and liked a deluge of libcucked soycontent, but I watch four videos about guns and the algo goes "So the Epoch Times, yes?"

Everybody! Backstreet back! ALRIGHT!

My beard is like 5-7% gray, mostly down on the front chin. Which is where I used to have some brownish red tint to my default dark brown to black color.

So the main color is holding strong, it's just my highlights that faded hehe

That's weird, your Rocket League highlights have been fading too.

BOOM I'M OUT

Very true. The algorithm definitely seems more aggressive on the recommendation side to the point where I sometime decide not to watch something because I don’t want to trigger it. Whereas it seems to take a while to convince it that you don’t want recommendations of a certain type.

For videos you don't want to affect your recommendations, try opening them in a private browser window.

RE: The new Twister movie -

What the f*ck is a "Stand Alone Sequel"?

If I had to hazard a guess? Marketing speak for "please feel obligated to watch this if you liked the first one, but please do not rewatch it before watching this one because the direct comparison will do us no favors."

Looking at the wikipedia article, it appears to mean that Helen Hunt had an idea for a sequel, the studio rejected it, so now we have a sequel that nobody involved in the original is in.

This looks magnificently stupid.

/sighs

I will be seated.

I’m just gonna wait until Twist3r comes out.

The climax of that trailer is hard to differentiate from this classic:

I think Armored Core VI ruined other soulslike and mech games for me.

Stand-alone sequel to me means that you don’t have to watch/remember the original(s).

I will never forget the moment in the first one when the "evil" storm chasing team showed up. It was such a WTF moment.

It appears that in this one, the "evil" team are good now and end up helping out the good gal.

Tried ribs in a bag for the first time. You cook the ribs in the bag. The bag melted in one spot. This cause grease to leak out which then caused a grease fire.

I got to it fast though and put it out. I thought I lost the ribs but they were just semi cooked. I cut the ribs into thirds and airfried them. Best damn ribs I ever had. Might even be worth the cleanup.

Wrong thread.

“The Second Act,” a talky French comedy about the making of the first movie directed by AI, mustered a lukewarm 3.5-minute standing ovation on Tuesday night in Cannes.

There's something incredibly funny about the performative nature of standing ovations at Cannes that a 210-second ovation is "lukewarm."

The internet failed hard today. There isn’t one good video of the performance of the Google I/O DJ on the web. Not YouTube, Tik Tok, Instagram, or even AI.

It’s my birthday, I’m in a different city on training, and I may end up going to bed at like 9pm. And I’m not even mad about it.

Spoiler: Extremely NSFW

My shopping list today was:

Frozen Chips
Bread
Tea
Fat balls
Apples

The apples were optional.

Also, my mate Carol and I did a drive by. She needed to give someone money for a day out. We drove to his house and saw he was watering his front lawn. She called him over and handed him an envelope through the cracked window then we drove off.

Gangsta

I was hoping that Fat balls were some delicious donut-like snack. Google results were disappointing.

The birds can’t get enough of ‘em.

The top half.

Spotify works with my car, but every song displays in my car as "No title", "No name".

One morning this week, I got into my car and Spotify started playing and actually displayed the artist and song, I checked on my phone to be sure it was Spotify- it was- and switched playlists and it kept displaying the artist and song.

Then at lunch I started the car up again... I'm back to "No title", "No name" again. No clue why it worked perfectly exactly one time.
