When you buy a blue Hyundai and you suddenly see blue Hyundai's everywhere, that's your mind playing tricks on you. But when Patrick Klepek says the word "Patreon" in a podcast and the exact same moment my watch buzzes with a notification saying "Patreon" (my monthly bill)? That's something else...

Holy f*ck, we're old, Q!

Well, you're old, I'm seasoned.

Seasoned / leathery, potato / potato.

Month and change to go for me.

I almost wanna say something mushy about how this place has been a total outlier on the internet, the only place I ever considered calling a home for what is, in internet terms, a literally insane amount of time.

But in reality, I'm with Mix. HOLY F**KING SH*T I AM OLD JESUS CHRIST.

Misplaced my dice and can't decide if I want to buy some more or just use one the dice rollers I have on my phone.

I read a post from an IT guy how the cable management in warhammer 40K rogue trader was disgusting and asking why a culture capable of space travel would do this. It was two pages of lore that all kind of explained cables, but I don't think there is any cable specific lore for the Imperium of man.

Does anybody remember when Rudy
on The Cosby Show grew a mustache? That was weird.

That haiku was weird.

I just started reading the Rock Paper Shotgun review of Rogue Trader and the reviewer has used the word greebling twice.

I have no idea what he's on about.

Owlcat's generally good down the line for their games, at least based on Pathfinder. I feel like the correct time to buy it will be Christmas.

2024.

Originally coined by George Lucas to refer to taking pieces of model kits and using them on other models to make them look more detailed. It can also mean simply adding minor inconsequential details to a cg model or practical set (particularly of ships) to make it feel more realistic. So for Rouge Trader it'd be the details on the ships besides its basic hull. Antennae, vents, pipes, wires, etc.

Rouge Trader? The game is evidently more limited than I believed...

Yes. In the distant future, only beauty products will be profitable to transport.

It's because it's missing a season word. Common mistake.

F**kin' hell. Losing Lance Reddick and Andre Braugher in the same year?

Eat shit, 2023.

Rudy Huxtable
Grew a mustache on TV
That was really weird

I drank some coffee
Bill Cosby said "please relax"
My butt senses pain

Ah, the joke is rape.
The raping is the whole joke.
How clever, my friend.

My wife is downstairs playing Mario Odyssey while I'm upstairs in my home office with the door open.

It sounds like she's torturing some poor soul downstairs with a hot poker and some needles.

"Hoo! Ah! Ooh! Wah-ha!"

Spoiler:

Just in case, I went downstairs and checked and there's zero torturing going on

Hm. Do we try and see Poor Things this weekend or The Boy and the Heron?

Poor Things, if goodjer opinions of Boy and Heron are any guide. Looks like reviewers find both of them outstanding. Are you looking for heartwarming, or extremely weird and also possibly heartwarming? Yorgos always delivers the weird with style.

It's only Thursday, and yet today feels like a Friday, I'm not sure why.

Well, in my case it feels like Friday because it's my last day of work until 2024.

For me that's tomorrow. Maybe it's because I had a lunch date with my BF today? Not sure.

Same. Was supposed to be tomorrow, but death in the family this morning. Have to head home early so today/tomorrow became bereavement leave. Merry Christmas. Ugh.

Sorry to hear that, Stele. My condolences to you and your family.

Thanks. I didn't know where to post, loathe thread or what... but I guess this is the anything thread. There was a stroke a few days ago and we were scrambling trying to figure out of my wife could get home with the kids and me come later, trying not to be gone for more than a week for the holidays. Our cat recently had some urine blockage, so I was going to stay and keep an eye on him for a few days... and all the stress of the last 48 hours was wasted because we're going anyway. Vet appt tomorrow.

One kid has had a fever for 3 days, so trying to get her in to dr tomorrow. Lots of crunch all happening at once. Plus the general holiday stress. I'm tired already and there's so much to do. At least I can not worry about work for a while.

Oh man. Well, it's good you're able to take care of your family. Just gotta power through it I guess. I can sympathize.
