Are the little white lines the pneumatic tubes that move the gerbilles around? I know they carry packets while the weasels carry electricity.

Other than that computers may as well be magic to me.

Are the gerbilles and weasels magic?

“Other than that”.

The red wires carry oxygenated electricity, and the blue wires carry unoxygenated electricity. The fans are there to ensure that a constant flow of oxygen is available to keep your computer alive.

My spell checker knows the name ‘Squarepants’ but doesn’t know the name ‘Spongebob.’ Not sure how that’s possible unless a lot of people are going around calling him Mr Squarepants.

With 59 years of practice, my mother is an expert at torturing me emotionally.

This dawned on me today:

Other than turning you invisible, what the hell does the One Ring actually do? Like, what makes it so powerful?

It rules them all. So it allows you to control the ring wraiths?

Didn't it make Gollum effectively immortal? Also, it gradually makes you more of a d!ck. Like reading Ayn Rand.

...

It controls the other rings.

"One Ring To Rule Them All"

Allegedly, it's other powers are only usable by wielders of great native power anyway, and hobbits don't count. Hence why it did bugger all for Frodo barring being hard to spot.

The one ring was meant to give him control over the wearers of the other rings, so yes, in a sense. The nine kings of men were easily taken over by Sauron and the One Ring, their influence eventually turning them into wraiths.

The elves, btw, were too wise and took off their rings as soon as they felt Sauron’s influence. The dwarves, on the other hand, where either too stubborn or too obsessed with wealth to be dominated.

As with all MacGuffins, it did whatever the plot needed it to do.

I've been looking for a handwritten font for a project for some time now. I've tried a few. I made my own just for testing. None of them worked out.

Turns out I made a font back in 2016 (for another project) that might fit my needs. As I was working on that 2016 project, I hated the font and thought it was jarring. For my current project, the fact that it's amateurish (at best) works in its favor. I had completely forgotten about it, and as I was taking my daily walk, it all came back.

I THINK I just found the original files in order to make some minor changes to it (namely, make the strokes slightly thicker). I'll have to reinstall FontForge to confirm that (I think it's what I used back then to make it). Fingers crossed!

How is it possible in 2020 that I'm unable to find ON THE INTERNET, a coloring page that contains a unicorn AND a rainbow AND a princess?

Can get any two of those. Not all three.

I can have my daughter draw you one. Or you could ask Pyxistix or better yet pay her.

I am surprised too but I couldn't find one with a quick search either. I did see some that looked like it wouldn't be hard to add a rainbow to them, just draw it in with a sharpie after printing it.

Ok now do a princes and a unicorn fighting a bear and an evil princess with rainbows.

You should still hire Pyx to do one for you.

Pyxi is great, I wish her all the best with her art-commissions, but no, I'm not commissioning artwork for my 6 year old to spend 3 minutes scrawling on before getting bored.

That said, now you've got me thinking about what I could commission her to do....

This is rapidly heading toward Rule 34.

As long as no one brings up a dragon and a car in a compromising position we should be okay.

Excuse me, the Rule of Rule 34 is that this already exists.

Well good, that'll make it easier to find the coloring pages.

And I gotta say, this is a pretty pedestrian invocation of R34. I know we can do better, people!

They didn't say where the princess was putting the rainbows.

Food trends baffle me. My little NYC suburb has never had a ramen place, but now has two Vietnamese places and two Thai places.

Pho's pretty awesome though.

Just wait until actual soup weather. Pho is awesome.

Having Pho was my first experience with fish sauce, in that I mistook it for soy sauce and had an interesting tasting lunch. Pho is very good though.
