I'm all in on that burburbur

Mmm steamed hamhamhams.

Curious if Avengers can do the $1B opening weekend, although I doubt it. More curious to see if it will be the firm that finally beats f**king Avatar for the #1 spot all-time.

Globally, you mean? I can see it going as high as $350M domestic, smashing IW's record

And it looks like it did. $1.2 billion worldwide opening.

That is exactly its domestic opening. Good guess!

Have you ever wondered why there isn't a Juggalo version of Consumer Reports? Worry no more!

ICP's Violent J and his daughter review a furry suit!

2019 consistently manages to throw out new sentences that I had never even conceived of prior to now.

Also, there is something hilariously pure and wonderful that the daughter of one of the ICP dudes is a furry, and that he has completely embraced it.

I'm intrigued, but I also don't want to ruin my YouTube recommendations forever.

Incognito mode isn't just for porn.

IT'S NOT?!?!?!?

Sonic Movie Director Vows To Fix Hedgehog Design

Sometimes, shaming works.

Meanwhile, I am still bamboozled as to how they decided THAT was a good design for the character, when random internet artists have made far, far better work for free.

I read speculation it has to do with proportions to match the motion capture suits that seed the animation.

As some people have pointed out on Twitter, I feel immense sympathy for the VFX artists, because this movie's supposed to come out in December and they are going to have a whoooooooooooooooooooole lotta work to do.

And the movie is still going to be sh*te.

Wherever you read that is mistaken, because current performance capture technology permits mapping a performer's data to arbitrary geometry. The software has had that capability for years. It is even possible to preview it live in camera during shooting. James Cameron worked with Weta Digital to develop the first version of this for Avatar. The most recent advances have been in improving the resolution and interpolation of the mapping, so we now see results like Thanos, where the CGI captures every nuance of the actor's face and body.

The Sucker Punch artist's rework is pretty remarkable. Maybe the lesson here is to use video game artists to do CGI for video game characters. Or at least someone who has played a video game.

Clock is right, though. Any rework is a complete waste of money. The likely result is something like the llama credits from Holy Grail.

Yeah making it look like Sonic will be the 100 hour a week plus weekends work load cherry on the heaping pile of garbage unfortunately.

And again, all of this was so, so, so avoidable. So avoidable.

Favorite quote from Hyperion so far

"Who was Hitler?" I said.

Tyrena smiled slightly. "An Old Earth politician who did some writing."

I've suspected for a while, but I finally sought some answers regarding my mental health.

Turns out I have ADHD. It makes a lot of sense. E.g, why I was always just 'ok' at university until I studied online (going from a 60% average to 80%+!), then struggling again when back on campus. It explains my bursts of hyperfocus, which result in a silly amount of hobbies/obsessions, and it explains why I just can't seem to watch a movie or read a book.

It explains everything.

I'm not surprised, but I'm still processing what it means. A label doesn't change who I am, but it does give me a framework for future development. I'm hoping to stay away from medication if possible, but if medication IS the answer, I'm willing to try.

I just can't believe it took 28 years for me to find out.

I hear that - I was diagnosed at age 5 or 6, but never got treatment or medication until my re-diagnosis in my early 30s.

Things I learned from pharmaceutical commercials today: Women with IUDs can bring their car to the mechanic. Finally, you can get your car fixed without the risk of getting pregnant.

To be fair, there are plenty of videos on the internet showing that there is an increased risk of women having unprotected sex at auto shops. Also with pizza guys, pool boys and plumbers.

To be fair, the average Pornhub video is likely more accurate than the average YouTube video.
