Random non sequitur posts catch-all thread

If you're in Mordor the best way to celebrate is escape for a while. :p

How about a trip out to the Grace Hotel at Magaliesberg for lunch? It's a great drive and the hotel is beautiful. Or Parys, it gets dissed a lot but it's a cute town with really nice restaurants.

Would someone please have a debate about what is the PBR of gaming? Screw this Citizen Kane nonsense.

(Was going to make a thread for this but chickened out, Demyx suggested putting the question here instead)

Call of Duty? Madden?

Mafia Wars.

It can't be CoD or Madden - it needs to be something that was "ok" in the past, hit near-obscurity, and then a resurgence with "gaming hipsters".

Maybe genres would do better, instead of individual games? Would it be Point-and-Click adventures? Or Turn-Based CRPGs?

Roguelikes.

PC Gaming?

That's easy: Deus Ex.

8-bit lookalikes i.e. Hotline Miami or Gunpoint.

Ah, a fellow South African. What a nice suprise I'm in Jo'burg. We probably go to botanical gardens every 5 or 6 weeks. So having a picnic would be considered a normal event.

I'm thinking of taking her to a little restaurant where we had our first date for breakfast. After that I'm a bit clueless. She's got a bit of a fear for driving so perhaps I should encourage her to face it and take her go-karting? But that can turn out good or very bad.

We also like exploring and finding second hand bookshops. We go to China mall to laugh at the silly engrish products.

Buy her 42 pounds of books at a second-hand shop and carry all of them as a present - as a book-lover, I know I'd be plenty happy with that as a gift!

And maybe the picnic could be fancy? A nice wine, fancy sandwiches, and cake or something?

Why not both?

Wasn't that an episode of House?

At least you can't catch crazy.

I suddenly find myself on my way to NYC for the next 4 days.

The song "Springfield, Springfield, it's a heck of a town!" Is stuck in my head for some reason.

I can't help being this guy at the gym sometimes

Sometimes?

Other times he can't do that while in sweatpants and still be presentable in public.

That guy's got a heck of a bubble-butt... What? Oh. Ohhhhh. Yeah, never mind.

I was so disappointed at the prosaic "Unknown Zip Code" error on the weather sites today.

For the entire month of July it never rained once in Vancouver. I feel like some sort of universal constant has been violated.

Of course it's raining today, but still. A whole month. Madness.

That is crazy!

See what that cat is doing? Imagine it's doing that over and over again inside a picture frame.

Flip/flick book.

I'm sorry but I can't allow you to take that information into the past, the damage would be too great.

Or phenakistoscope.

I just came up with a punchline. Now I need the joke to precede it.
