Question:

Does the imminent release of Guitar Hero: Van Halen mean that we're probably not going to be getting any VH tracks for RB2 any time soon, or ever?

Dammit! Why do good musicians put their babies on an inferior product?

This is what made me happy. How could I have gone an entire week without getting down with my bad self?!?

I just wanted to note:

YES. A THOUSAND TIMES YES.

Hear hear.

Oh my god, I can't believe Penny Arcade went there...

edit:

while I'm at it, what the hell is funny about this one? Or is it not supposed to be? =P

I like the Nirvana one.

The second one...the guy sends the dude into the cave and waits...and waits...after a while it is obvious the other guy isn't coming back. Kinda funny.

It's his son he's sending in, and he ain't coming back; I don't think it's meant to be funny. I love the Nirvana one, though.

I'm pretty sure it's his student, not his son. But it's an interesting take on the "send the pupil into the cave to prove his worth" schtick. What does the master think if the student doesn't come back?

And agreed on the Nirvana strip. Sometimes Penny Arcade's sheer lack of good taste is brilliant.

Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out

I think I squeed like a little girl when I read that. Actually, scratch that: I did squee like a prepubescent adolescent female. That one song has to be one of my favorite tunes to play in all of rhythm-instrument-gamedom. My son heard that tune so many times from my Guitar Hero playing days that he has a video on You Tube from 2007, which features him prancing around like the 3 year old he most adorably was (which will surely haunt him in high school when I show it to all his friends). Oh yes: next Tuesday will be a good day.

Heh yeah, that was the one that really grabbed me too. It was a total blast on Guitar Hero N.

Luscious Jackson. That's a name I never expected to see in a game.

Smooth Criminal and the two Allmans are all definite buys for me.

And I got ONE MORE...........SILVER DOLLAR

I bet that guitar part gets old quick but the chance to sing those lyrics drunk as hell...so worth 160 points.

Whoa. Luscious Jackson? Cool! I didn't even notice that on my first read-through of the post.

Nice!

Jane Says is one of the least fun songs to play on Expert guitar that I've ever encountered.

More Disturbed is always a good thing in my book!

"Cause I am stricken again that your gone........"

Wow, good eclectic set of tunes this week. I might pick up all off these. Never thought I'd see the Replacements on Rock Band. Good deal.

Sweet!

Peace Love & Understanding would have been awesome, but i'll take Radio Radio, thank you!

...if for no other reason than to rock a Bill Murray impression on the mic.

They will find it very difficult to release enough Steely Dan for my tastes.

I know the subject matter is a little too adult but I really wish they would release Kid Charlemagne at some point. Reeling in the Years would be awesome as well. Tons of guitar solos in that one.

Insufficient Social D for my tastes! More, more, MORE!

Kid Charlemagne was released for GH:WT (along with Black Friday and Bodhisattva). I hate the overlap between the two games. There's plenty of Steely Dan songs for them to choose from.

Or they could release all of The Royal Scam or Aja.

You make me so
very happy,
I'm so glad you
came into my life.

More Pearl Jam coming in the future. That's sounds good to me as Ten was a brilliant and challenging addition.
