Rock Band Downloadable Content

Don't Stop Believin is surprisingly awesome on Expert Drums. I was enveloped in joy.

I read things like this and weep that my 360 is 900 miles away I saw that was being added to DLC and had a little joygasm.

It says its 3circles difficulty on guitar, but damned if I can't get past the guitar intro on Expert. I Gold Starred Geraldine, though, with 100%. That's not too hard, though.

Shins!

Also, the country pack that came out earlier (the one with "Hillbilly Deluxe") is REALLY fun to play, especially with a group of friends. And I'm not a country fan.

I feel like I should know that shins song but I can't place it.

It was on the Garden State Soundtrack

ding ding ding we have a winner, that is exactly where we heard it from.

Where do I know that Warriors of Time song? Does an NHL team play it in their Arena often?

Also, Glasvegas....now The Shins? Yes! Next week Arctic Monkeys....crosses fingers.

I'm wondering whether they're making extra or pissing away money by not offering pack downloads to Wii owners.

I'm more curious on how the numbers stack up across platforms. Do less Wii owners download then the average PS3 or 360 user?

I bought The Shins songs. It's kinda weird. The note chart is fine and fun-ish to play but the band and crowd are still rocking out despite how mellow the song is.

How is the storage handled on a Wii?

The reason they aren't doing this is actually because Nintendo won't allow duplicate content on their service, and they decided it was better to offer the choice of individual songs over the discount of song packs. I imagine monetarily it's probably a wash.

Anyway these songs are coming first in Rock Band PSP (aka Amplitude + Rock Band skin) first and will eventually end up as DLC for the real game:

3 Doors Down - "Kryptonite"
AFI - "Miss Murder"
Alice in Chains - "Would?"
Audioslave - "Gasoline"
Black Tide - "Show Me the Way"
Blink 182 - "What's My Age Again"
Freezepop - "Less Talk More Rokk"
Jackson 5 - "ABC"
Tenacious D - "Rock Your Socks"

The rest of the Rock Band PSP tracklist/DLC will apparently be drawn from the existing RB library.

Both the internal memory and on SD cards. It streams from the SD cards.

WOW - hitting me right in the midwest-suburban-kid-from-the-late-seventies spot. Don't care about the collaboration tune but I will be getting the rest, no doubt about it.

Also, who the heck is Hautewerk? (too busy at work/lazy to look up on my own )

Hautewerk doesn't even have a wiki entry. Here's their myspace. Friends of the devs or someone on staff must be in the band.

I could totally sing some Renegade.

*knock knock*

Who's There?

Rock Band!

Rock Band, who?

Shut up and give us your money!

... ok.

On a side note, while I understand in a logical sense the reasons, the absence of Sail Away makes me cry.

Rock Band - My Senior Prom edition.

I'm still waiting on the This Band Could Be Your Life compilation.

This track pack could have saved my marriage. Seriously.

My soon to be ex has been to see REO/Styx 20 times. And she HATED my playing of videogames.

I'm psyched about Renegade, but why do they have to keep releasing re-records? I want the originals in all their glory.

this should be a rock bad ad (excpet for the gh peripherals)

I was worried, but in recent performance videos, the singer sounds almost indistinguishable from the old master track. It will probably be fine, and certainly not as bad as those Jimmy Buffet re-records.

So Styx is AWESOME.

Man, I was so wrong about how the re-records sound. They are technically proficient, but they lack the energy of the original recordings, or even the recent live ones. It sounds like they're just going through the motions. Sad.

On a positive note, Take It On The Run is pure cheesy awesome.

Psh. I thought they sounded great.

Hell, f'in YEAH.
