King's Bounty: The Legend Catch-All

Pages

Thanks, guys. I've now restarted Crossworlds. No, that's ok; I didn't have anything else planned for my time...

One other note for those playing Warriors of the North; it is rather buggy. If you aren't afraid of minor spoilers, you may want to check out this list to avoid some issues that can affect you.

A common one that hit me is the "crystal collector" bug:
Crystal Collector Award stops progress: The collector award tracks the total number of crystals you carry at one time. If you spend crystals on spells it stops counting until you find enough to get above the previous number.

Guys - quick, should I just go for Kings Bounty: Armored Princess, or get the bundle? And is Warriors in the North worth it?

Just get the bundle. Let Warriors in the North bake a little longer. Play Legends first and then go from there to Crossworlds. You can skip Armoured Princess because Crossworlds IS Armoured Princess with some content added. It has some extra content for the AP campaign and some new self contained campaigns. In fact it even gives you the option of playing AP without the new content. No need to install both.

The only reason to get AP instead would be to run it on a Mac, if the store is accurate.

I bought the bundle a while back, and can confirm that Crossworlds is the only game in the series that doesn't have a Mac version.

Thread necro!

As someone who has never played a King's Bounty game... what would be the best place to become inaugurated at this point: The Legend, Crossworlds, Warriors of the North, or Legions?

Probably not Legions. It's a F2P game that finally broke free of Facebook, so I doubt it's really indicative of the overall gameplay of the franchise. I believe it retains the combat style of the series though.

I haven't played Warriors in the North yet, but Legend and Armored Princess (and it's expansion Crossworlds) are very similar in gameplay (though I liked the 4 Spirits of Rage from Legend than the dragon from AP). AP is a direct continuation of the story from The Legend. I' not sure if WitN continues with that story, is mostly separate.

Legion's is a port of a F2P facebook game, and could be skipped entirely.

Start with Legends and then get Crossworlds if you like the game and have a hankering for more. Crossworlds is basically Armoured Princess+, it's the same game with some added content and you don't need both of them. You can even play base AP from within Crossworlds if you really want to.

Excellent. Thanks all! I'll plan to start at the beginning, with Legend.

Has anyone picked up the new King's Bounty: Dark Side?
So far I think it's the weakest in the series (I'm not a fan of the premise, though I do give them credit for trying something different), but more King's Bounty is never a bad thing. They.. may not have exactly made progress with their portrayal of women since Armored Princess.

Arise!

I've had this on my backlog for so long (along with Armored Princess). Nothing like a sequel announcement to push me to finally get around to trying its predecessor!

I always get stuck in Crossworlds. There comes a point where there are no more powerful troops and all the enemies are either Very Weak or Invincible.
