What are your dream cars?

Okay, here's a pointless little game inspired by Quintin Stone's car picture thread. What are your dream cars? Name one vintage car and one car from the last few years (we're talking less than 10, preferably still in production). Assume money is no object, nor is practicality.

For me:

Vintage: '60s Mustang Fastback (yes, it was already this before I read Quintin's thread)

Modern: Bentley Continental GT Coupe - the first time I saw one of these in person, I immediately headed to my bunk.

Vintage: 1969 Hemi Dodge Charger

Modern: Aston-Martin DB9. Just gorgeous. Same engine as the Vanquish and it costs like half as much. Honourable mention to the Ariel Atom.

A helicopter. I hate traffic.

1969 Mercedes 220D. My parents had one and I loved it.

Aptera plug-in hybrid. When it gets out of CA lol.

Same. '67 was a great year.

I'm also a big fan of 60's-era monster/boat Cadillac's.

For today, I'd go for a nice luxury sedan.

Since we're dreaming I'll go with a Mercedes S-Class S65 AMG, at the low, low price of $195K.

Vintage: '69 Corvette

Current'ish: Probably not a surprise to some, Lotus Exige 265E (Technically never made it to production, but we're doing dream cars, right?)

Always been a fan of the MB McLaren SLR.

My dream car flies and has laser cannons, though.

Dream cars, eh?

Vintage: A restored duplicate of my very first car: 1967 Olds Cutlass 442. Mine only had a 350 in it though

Modern: Mondern cars are a lot tougher, but since Fed gave us 10 years to play with for modern, I'm gonna go with a 99 BMW M3. I love that particular 3 series to death

I want an Aptera just because I am a geek. So dreamy.

Classic car, I'm going with the Shelby Cobra

IMAGE(http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/5607/shelbycobra427196701xv7.jpg)

New: the Bugatti Veyron - 0-60 in under 3 seconds; just imagine

Dodge Viper ACR: This car can kill you and that is why I want it.

Is that because when you turn the steering wheel it appears to not be connected to anything, like the wheels?

f*ck you, traffic jams!

I second the Shelby Cobra....I am at least planning on a kit car of one in another 10 years. I have a 57 and 56 chevy bel air I need to finish restoring first though...

Classic: I think after the car show, my new favorite is the '67 GT Fastback. (My wife said she preferred the '67 Coupe because she didn't like the Fastback's sloped back-end, "too much like a Camaro". But what do women know about cars? IMAGE(http://rps.net/QS/Images/Smilies/blindfold.gif))

Modern: Are they still making Firefly-class transports?

Just for fun: Fastest Cars in the World

1.SSC Ultimate Aero: 257 mph+, 0-60 in 2.7 secs. Twin-Turbo V8 Engine with 1183 hp, base price is $654,400. Tested in March 2007 by Guinness world records, The SSC Ultimate Aero takes the lead as the fastest car in the world beating Bugatti Veyron.

I can never remember the name of this car, a Packard, but yeah, I like the old cars:

and something like this:

Luna wants a SUBIE?!?! jeesh!

Now if we are going for older cars say 50's and older I would have to go with this one:

1931 Daimler Double 6

I personally think this car is the most lovely thing ever to grace the road. SWOON!!!

What's wrong with a Subaru? Those things are awesome.

Yeah but those are easy to get a hold of. I guess my dream is to drive a car that hardly anyone drives that is cool. Now if she said a race prepped Subaru...

The image URL suggests that might be a '73 Cuda?

My classic dream car is the 1973 Hemi Barracuda.

It might end up being my modern dream car too.
IMAGE(http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/4449/newcudalm4.jpg)

In the meantime though, I'm sticking with the Ferrari 599 GTB.

Lousy non-typing fingers. Grrr.

Thanks for the heads-up.

You know, this is a complex question.

I'd love a real cherry Hemi Cuda, Fastback Mustang or a Javelin/AMX for pure driving thrills.

But practically, my dream car right now would be: 1) fully grid-chargeable electric car or 2) hydrogen car w/local filling stations.

Those WRXes go like the devil, I'll say that.

Gosh I miss mine!

I'll third the Shelby Cobra for my classic and I too will eventually have a kit car down the road.

My modern desire would be a Nissan GTR or Cadillac CTS-V.

I already have mine. An 85 Subaru Brat. It's almost identical to this - IMAGE(http://offroadingsubarus.com/images/video_makingamesssubaru_brumby_brat.jpg)

Yeah I know. I'm kinda odd.
