It's kind of tough to notice with all that's going on visually, but it's actually pretty complex. Reminds me a lot of Explosions in the Sky. But I'm pretty big on prog, post-rock and all that instrumental guitar stuff.

Yeeah I don't think we're going to agree on this one.

I grew up on post-punk, electro and hip hop.

Me too!

Prog just sounds like a monkey hitting trash can lids to me. ;)

I disagree.

You know I'm right.

GWJ doesn't allow for iframe links. You need to take the bit after the slash in the video's URL and paste in after clicking the "Youtube" button.

Like so:

But you're a grinder, so that might not work for you yet.

Wooo Natalie MacMaster! Half of the reason I have started trying to learn the violin was to play this style of music.

Although, today is kind of a Blue Sky Black Death day for me...

Y'all know there's a new Jimi Hendrix release, right?

Jimmy Hendrix: Tupac of the 60s!

The new Jim James album is really good. You can listen to the whole thing right now on NPR.

Little late to the party, but I just tuned into these guys and they are freakin' ace!

Heh. We put out a track of Vijay Iyer's
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...

That was a fun piece, Aaron D.

My Bloody Valentine released a new album after 22 years. I'm completely in love with it.

Clock, that's awesome that the record is good. In my opinion, it's very rare that a reunited band (especially with a long hiatus) actually puts out a good record.

I've been on this sort of Psychobilly/Goth (Gothabilly?) kick lately.

I completely missed this track on the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack. I had to import the album this song is part of because I want more.

Um. Wow. How did I not know of this before five minutes ago?

in that case check these guys out

Added to my Spotify! Thanks!!

Captured a pretty good version at band practice:

Happy Valentine's Day

Daniil Trifonov is a really, really good pianist. He's playing a recital at The University of Washington in April. I wish I had an easy way of getting there. At any rate, he's now on my music radar.

You can really tell just how good he is when he's playing Chopin like in the NPR Boston concert and the below video.

I guess he's signed to Deutsche Grammophon, so I imagine he'll be putting out some good CD recordings in the future.

Bastard. Thanks for making me cry on Valentine's day.

That was... simply brilliant. Thanks for that Gimpy, now I have to go play the game again!

I completely missed that a new Hidden Orchestra album came out last year.

She has a few albums out, but I don't think that exact cover is on any of them.

I've been really loving the new Dropkick Murphys album, in particular this song:
