Name a Band / Song We Should Know About

Well, that successfully broke my brain.

For some reason every time this band comes up I'm reminded of this song (which is definitely not from them)

There are many versions of this song, conveniently collected together here:

Garbage Collector!

That might get some love over in the Joys of Programming thread.

Apparently this happened!

DOOM The Dark Ages inspired music

Very nice Industrial.

TIL there is a genre of metal called "Argent Metal," basically defined as "sounds like a DOOM soundtrack."

Certified best band ever (TM)(C)(R) Viagra Boys has a new album coming out in a few months.

:D

Mick Gordon really kicked off something cool. If you like this here's some other musicians to check out:
- STÖMB
- Silent Planet
- Andrew Hulshult (in particular the Prodeus soundtrack)

And here's something completely different to brighten your Sunday:

Hey All.

Do we have a music video catch-all?

Been doing a deep dive into the classics, as well as unknown stuff and thought it could be cool.

30 years ago yesterday, Richey Edwards went missing - presumably having jumped off the Severn Bridge, although no body has ever been found.

I don't know why I thought about that today, but I did, and there is no one else to share it with, so here you go. Very important songs to me at one stage of my life.

I picked up a CD by Ozean this weekend.

Ozean was a band formed in the early 90s. They released a three song demo on cassette in 1993 and broke up shortly afterwards. Someone found the demo and posted online in 2017, which gained awareness of the band. This lead to the 3 song ep being sold on Bandcamp, which funded subsequent vinyl and CD releases. It's magical that the songs are finally being made readily available.

The EP is short and sweet, but amazing. Their songs for me conjure up Slowdive and Ride with a bit of The Sundays mixed in. If you like the song posted here, there's two more just as lovely waiting for you to hear.

Ozean has a super cool wall-of-sound shoegaze sound. Love it.

Amusingly, an unrelated album shows up on their Apple Music page. A German electronic duo called Egokind & Ozean, with a rather different downtempo synth sound, produced an album in 2014.

Ozean's 3-song EP is also there, released by "Numero Group" about a year ago.

I've been dancing around the house and singing this song all day. My kids are not impressed

Wanna hear the most late-90’s thing ever? Eve6 just released a cover of Len’s Steal My Sunshine.

FWIW, Eve6 is a great follow on Bluesky.

omg Inside Out is Eve6? I have missed them lately! Glad to see they are doing well.
