2008 Gaming Goodness... better than 2007?!

Everyone speaks of 2007 being a banner year for gaming, yet here we are in the later half of 2008, and the list of gaming goodness that's fixing to be released is delicious!!

Great point. This time last year I was lamenting the outlook for 2008 given how many big releases were inbound for 2007. Now I'm doing the same for 2009 :).

Does anyone actually believe that Starcraft 2 is coming out in December? Based on Blizzard's past performance, I'm calling June 2009 at the earliest.

I really do hope it does but I highly doubt it. Maybe Q1 09. Left 4 Dead on the PC will hold me over for awhile I hope.

Blizzard actually already pretty much confirmed it isn't.

I'm still crunching through backlog, since I didn't get a current generation system until this past June (unless the PSP counts)

Games I'm looking forward to on the PS3:

Bioshock
Beautiful Katamari
Little Big Planet
PAIN Amusement Park
Just Cause 2

Games I'm looking forward to on the PSP:

N+

Not much, but there's plenty of backlog to crunch through-- Overlord, Folklore, Devil May Cry 4, etc. I have budget for two PS3 games and one PSP game before the end of the year, and I'm having a hard time deciding what to get.

If only all my problems were so hard.

Does anyone have that big master list of what is comming out when?
The guys went through it on the Podcast a few months ago and now I can not dig it up.

I've just been using the Gamestop 'Coming Soon' list... and I just spotted another game that may garner my gaming dollar-

Facebreaker

Preorder supposedly ships 9/3...

Did you play the demo? I found it to be remarkably awful, but that may be because I wanted a boxing game, not an arcade-style fighting game (and I rarely play fighting games anymore, so my opinion's no use for those)

No, I haven't played the demo, but in my mind I wanted this game to be the Punch*Out for this generation of console... I won't be purchasing it if it's more like DOA than Mean Joe Green...

It's hardly even a fighting game. It's a pure/unadulterated button mash. Definitely check out a demo, it might be all you can stomach.

I was surprised to see how little interest Facebreaker was generating, considering how hard EA's pushing it as a new franchise.

Then I played the demo.

Question answered.
