Creepy spider!

Awesome.
I'd totally get something like that on my shoulder, upper chest, calf, back-of-upper-arm (these are "ors" not "ands").
Somewhere that it might be seen, but NOT on the side of my neck. Good on her for doing it.

Yeah, she's going to get her neck slapped on occasion.

That's pretty cool looking, but for her entire professional career, if she has one, she'll be known as the Spider Lady.

Might be okay, but ...

My first thought, too.

Do follow the link if you haven't already. I'm almost positive it's been posted somewhere earlier in this thread, but it's definitely on-topic.

You know, if she started heading towards boogling someone, and they didn't know that was a tattoo (or even if they did and jus forgot) it would make for some interesting* reactions.

* depending on your definition of interesting

Clearly I need more spiders in my brain to keep me from doing dumb stuff like double posting.

He's even got a landing pad.

You son of a...

So I'm generally okay with spiders. Not great mind you, but okay. But last night, while I'm taking a shower, I notice this fairly large spider crawling across the window sill. It's a bit different than most spiders in the house: black and powerfully built. It's a relatively large spider, but not a giant spider. So I do the thing where I make sure that it's not going to do anything spider crazy, and continue about my business. I keep an eye on it and I keep noticing different things about it. Its body is covered with tiny black hairs, giving it a furry appearance. There's a small red dot on its abdomen. And it has long, prominent fangs, about half the size of its legs. I put the thing out of my mind and begin soaping myself up, watching it out of the corner of my eye as it disappears and reappears across the horizon of the window sill. Then, I open my eyes to discover that the spider is not crawling docilely back and forth across the window sill anymore, he's facing outward--the damn thing is staring at me naked in the shower! I actually jumped out of the shower, yelling, "That damn thing is looking at me!" This understandably draws my wife into the bathroom. She regards me skeptically as I describe my spider peeping Tom. Basically, this all ends with her capturing a spider in a cup as I look on soaking wet and naked.

(Demodex folliculorum. Technically an arachnid, but a mite, not a spider.)

Someone else follows IFLS, just saw that on my FB feed now. Thinking about everything that lives on the human skin makes my skin crawl.

Things are crawling on your skin whether you think about them or not...

For me, I had a lucky experience yesterday. I get to this pedestal with one of our taps in it, and not only had someone broken the locking mechanism so I couldn't pull the top off, but the tap itself was bolted to the ped. I had to pull it up out of the ground enough to get my hand in there with a 1/2 ratchet, and get the bolt off, so I could work.

The whole time I'm thinking "please don't let there be a huge spider in here..."

After I get the ped off, I'm thanking my lucky stars, then I look in the top of the ped and sure enough, big-ass spider hiding in the top. I'm just glad he didn't get knocked down while I was working.

I was thinking it would make a cute plush toy.

Spiders are the reason I always carry gloves with me when I go to work on something. Just in case I have to go poking around some dark hole.

Spiders love my motorcycle. It is turning into a habitat for them.

Of course you check your gloves to make sure there aren't spiders in them. Right?
