Creepy spider!

That is the single best qualifier for the "Kill it with fire" meme. Ever.

I told the missus its not the beer making me fat!

Also, Sydney resident for ten years, and no funnelweb sightings yet. That toe video was nasty though.

Thread winner. If I ever saw that in my house I would run screaming like a little b*tch. I don't like spiders at the best of times, but that just takes the biscuit.

I've been bitten by spiders while sleeping at least five times now. Either the variety biting me is not particularly venomous, or I have a pretty good resistance to it. My resistance is likely even building, as each subsequent bite has been less and less of a problem. The first one scarred pretty good when it healed up, but my most recent bite (happened last week sometime) hasn't even broken the skin.

You know, I don't despise spiders as much as many people do, but Sinatar's picture just makes my hand itch for the Raid can.

Do you really thin that would be enough?

That would be my biggest problem with seeing that in my house, now what the f*ck do I do (other than sh*t myself)?

Oh, Raid kills spiders. It takes a little longer, but it works.

QFMFT

I can usually tolerate spiders, if they're not too large, but that picture just plain creeps me out. If I was to see that in person, high pitched screaming would definitely be heard.

How long do you think you could run, while screaming at the top of your lungs? Then what would you say? "P-Please help! Spiders in my house!"

I would go for a can of deodorant and a lighter myself.

Or nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to make sure.

I'd go for the raid, a lighter, and a sturdy fly swatter. Raid will eventually kill them, but it knocks them down first, so you'd probably need to squish the big one. (I'd actually probably use a hammer.) Then flaming raid to dispatch the rest. Spiders don't really incite fear in me, I mean, hell, all even a black widow (the worst we have here) can do is make you sick.

However, my mom and girlfriend are allergic to spiders, so it's much worse for them, so I'm usually the one that has to terminate them anyway.

Or kill you. I'm not saying it's common (or even likely), but you can die from their bites, and your chances are increased if you don't get medical attention.

*sigh* It's a bug hunt.

What did you do with the vacuum afterward? Would they not just climb back out?

When I was in high school I had a girlfriend whose house had the worst spider problems. Visit for a few hours and it would never fail I'd leave with a couple of spider bites on my arm.

One summer day we were sitting on the couch in the living room. I see some movement out of the corner of my eye, look over and baby spiders were pouring out of the vent. Within seconds the entire living room wall was black with baby spiders. Quite possibly one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. It was insanity. Imagine that picture of the spider with the babies, but multiply the number of baby spiders by several hundred and picture them crawling and jumping everywhere.

Naturally her parents weren't around. Not knowing what to do we grabbed a vacuum cleaner and started sucking them all up. No way did we get all the little bastards but we did the best we could. Her little sister had looked in one of the other vents and swore she saw a spider as large as the one in that picture. I didn't see it myself but with the sheer number of babies I wouldn't doubt it in the least.

The worst part? Apparently that wasn't the first time they had something like that happen in their house! Not okay.

Ran into her a couple of years ago at a wedding party and had her validate that it really did happen. It's one of those things that you think back and wonder if it really was true. Yeah, it was. Freaky.

You know, I honestly don't remember. I think we vaccumed as quick as we could, took the bag off and either tossed it in the garbage outside or burned it. I was pretty much terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought so I think my brain probably shut down for awhile afterward

The chance is 1 in 20. I wouldn't mess with that.

Wow, I didn't know reality used d20 mechanics.

Now that you put it that way, you've got a really good chance of making your saving throw.

Spiders are soft-bodied critters so the trip through the vacuum usually kills them.

Usually.

The rest of the time it just really pisses them off.

Speaking of creepy..

Don't worry about the arachnid menace. Kirk's on it.

Don't risk it, make it a 25-man Raid with sturdy tanks, ample healers, and massive DPS.

Is Raid flammable?
