Awww! I’m gonna go boop him on da nose.

I'm pretty sure the spiderbot from Questionable Content is cuter than Lucas.

That's a hard call, Roland. While I love Gordon, I have to give the hat tip to Lucas, myself.

(I need to ask for Gordon in the next Bonus Strip poll, I think....)

This spider eventually realizes it's prey is helping clean its feet and allows it

"Yes, pleb, clean my paws, you servant!" -spider, probably

After this was filmed the man was found dead with two mysterious holes in his neck.

"I won't sting you." said the scorpion to the frog.

I realize that's not an adorable jumping spider, but I still imagined hearing Lucas's voice at the end.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!

So a spider moved into my place and I told it or could either pay rent or provide proof it is keeping the place bug free. I feel said spider needs a name but I don't want check if it is male or female.

Any ideas on a gender neutral name for a daddy long legs type spider? So far all I have is Alex.

Squatter.

Master.

Well I sat down with Payton and explained the rental agreement as well as the definition of "Hostile ejection with prejudice" So as long as there are no breaches in rent and the paperwork is properly signed it looks like I have a roomie.

As a side note Payton is more afraid of the swiffer than of me. I find this insulting on some level.

Well, the Swiffer *does* look like a giant, amorphous spider out of his nightmares, so...

North Carolina burger joint offers burger garnished with chargrilled tarantula

I'm not going to embed the pic, you can check the link yourself...

People say it tastes most like crab, or other shellfish, sometimes with a bit of a metallic-y taste. BUT, the legs, the body...each bite tastes a bit different. Best way to answer that question? Try one for yourself!

Seems like a waste of perfectly good tarantulas...

Bull City burger is one of the best restaurants in DUrham IMO, and they do a really good job with exotics meat burgers. That said I think I am going to pass on the taratula.

Well, I can officially thank this thread for starting a “questionable foods” arms race with my students today.

We had some down time before SATs this morning and for some reason they had seen the same tarantula burger article online (thankfully not in this forum, though), so we inevitably started discussing the grossest food combinations we know of - and that were actual products you can buy, which is an important stipulation.

This also led to us daring each other to eat said questionable foods, and...

Long story short: I purchased some wasabi-flavored Kit Kats for my students and I’m on the hook to try some fermented shark yogurt.

I hope you people are happy with yourselves.

Oh, interesting. Not sure it would taste all that great, but interesting.

I do have to say I'm not that repulsed by the tarantula burger. Course I've also driven to the other side of the greater Los Angeles area to eat a restaurant specifically because they offered crickets, silkworms, and scorpions.

Eating the grasshopper taco at Oyamel in DC was one of the highlights of that trip to DC. Science march I think?
7/10, would eat again, 10 with rice.

It... looks like a toy.

Yeah, but I'm sure it is some cute Australian species whose name translates to "instant death".

It's a European species that was almost extinct in the 90s. This guy got lucky as it is very rare to find the Ladybird spider.

Facts also shamelessly stolen from reddit.

"After the 35-80 eggs hatch, the spiderlings receive a liquid from the mouth of the female. The female later seems to digest its own body, which leads to her death a few days later. The spiderlings then suck on the mother. The next spring they leave the web and build their own in close vicinity."

I don't think the title of this thread has ever been more appropriate.

Motherly love in spiders. its sweet.
