Creepy spider!

Pages

Just had to post this. This evening my wife and I went out, and upon coming home, we found a giant black spider on our deck. My wife freaking out, I grabbed a small Tupperware container to trap it, so I could get a better (safer) look.

After getting it in there, I had a drop of water from the container drip down my finger, I freaked out, and dropped it.

When I picked it up, I noticed hundreds of new baby spiders, crawling all over the inside of the container, and the large spider was dead (edit: Dying, as they're eating it).

I tried getting some pictures, but can't get any that really show much of anything. I need a new camera.

Pretty sure it's just a giant wolf spider, so no threat, but it's still creepy.

Ewww! I'll thank you in advance for my nightmares tonight!

sweet!

Seconded!

If its a wolf spider, the babbies were clinging to momma's back most likely.

Wolf spiders are hairy, big, and nasty looking. Careful letting it out, because they jump.

If it looked like this:
IMAGE(http://www.spiderzrule.com/spider308/Wolf%20Spider%20with%20babies%204-23-08%201.JPG) it was a wolf spider with babies.

I almost just posted that as a link, but I figure, if you click on a thread entitled "Creepy Spider" you should be expecting pictures.

(in case anyone was overly horrified by the spider)

That Cat seems terrified of the ducklings.

Spiders are awesome.

There we go.

You bastards.

Gahh...the kitten/ducks picture is the only think keeping me from completely losing it. I'm screaming on the inside.

Normally spiders don't phase me, but when I'm stuffing my mouth with cheerios and that first picture pops up, my stomach gets a little queasy.

Of course my work's websense is BLOCKING the nice(?) cat/duckling photo, but not the scary spider.

**Edit**
Now that I'm home and can see this adorable photo, it makes me think the ducklings are doing an SNL Night at the Roxbury sketch with the poor kitty unaware of what's going on.

I wanted to see pics from the OP, not random pics from a "giant spider close up 1280x800 wallpaper" google search.

To overcome the spider's curse, just recite a Bible verse!

Thou shalt... not...

*ROCK*

Ye gods, what is wrong with you people and your giant nasty freaky spider pictures?!

Joe, thank you for the ducklings and kitten. Much better.

I always knew there'd be an occasion when I could dig this one back out!

I took this in a hallway in our house, just inside the door from the garage:
