Has anyone else noted that Usain Bolt is incomprehensibly fast?

Yea watched the race live today, wasn't going to post anything till it aired in prime time for everyone else.

Have you seen him lying on a path/track (however you call) while making his way to locker-room before race? I have no idea what that was about but for few seconds they showed completely random image of Bolt just lying there, getting up and going with his coach to the locker room. Booze?

Seems like he'd be kind of slow and shambling then. Or are you talking 28 Days Later kind of zombie?

USA softball gets upset in the gold medal game by Japan. Ironically, one of the arguments for dropping softball after Beijing is because the US has won every previous gold.

US Women's soccer team took the gold medal this morning in a tight game with Brazil!

The men's gold (and bronze) soccer matches are tomorrow morning. The gold match with Nigeria and Argentina should be quite good.

Well amidst all the controversy of the Beijing 2008 Olympics, some of them small (Graphical inserted fireworks) and superficial (Cute Chinese girl lip syncing song) other scandals such as the age of the Chinese Women Gymnastics Team are a bit bigger on the scale since Medals are in question. Now we get to something as simple as the US National Anthem.

In short, Peter Breiner composed a certain version of the Star Spangle Banner and it was used at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. He now is accusing the Chinese Olympic Committee of using his version, rerecorded with slightly different instruments, illegally and without compensation. Of course the Chinese Olympic Committee is telling him to go fly a kite.

BTW Our US Women's and Men's Beach Volleyball teams kick much ass. They have both won Gold and they are both the first teams to win back to back golds in two Olympics.

Oh and our Track and Field team is sucking it up hardcore. Two dropped batons in the relays both for men and women. Sad.

Is Usain Bolt made of lightning? WTF?

Michael Phelps comes home.

Figured this might be an interesting thought on how foolish it is to argue the ownership of copyright on The Star Spangled Banner .

Good news, everyone. NBC finally wised up and decided to show the men's basketball finals live. But, there be one catch. Check the times in your area stateside:

I may have to hit up some friends and find a 3am bar to watch it. Actually, maybe the casino is the right place.

Anyone else as dog-ass tired as I am but thought it was worth watching every minute of?

So I walk in this morning to my wife watching the official Olympic event of the GWJ Conference Call.

That's right, competitive hoop and stick. I sh*t you not.

Hoop and stick was the winner of the gold medal in the competition for sport that least deserves an Olympic slot. It actually managed to edge out ping-pong, which surprised me. Also, hats off to Team Handball for the bronze.

Olympic speedwalking seems pointless to me... Now if there was Olympic unicycling, that might be interesting.... Like, team handball on a unicycle. I would pay to see that.

It's not about the song in general, it's about the specific composition, instrumentation, and organization -- a particular rendition -- of the song. He claims they ripped off his version, and that's a legitimate claim.

I'd be happy if they just went back to the drinking song.
