Celebrate Freedom by Clearing Your Pile

For me, this month will be the month of Oblivion, Mass Effect and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - all on the pc, natch. So expect to see me again sometime next year...

I picked up the Diablo Battle Chest last night and put in a little time on Diablo 2. That will be my game of the month.

I am going to sign up for Diablo 2 Exp (yeah, I never finished it...) and Zak & Wiki on the Wii as my July picks.

I think I mentioned it before, but please put me down for Medal of Honor: Airborne for this month also. I started goofing around with it and I'm enjoying it very much. With the upcoming holiday weekend, one of my games will fall.

Sorry, I must have missed it.

List is updated.

Okami. is. done.
Finally.
Wow, what a great trip. More games need this artstyle. If it weren't for the plodding story (with only quasi-fast-forwardable text) and annoying voices, this game would have been monumental. As is, it is merely fantastic. And that's ok.
I think Mass effect should easily be done this month - I'm almost done the third main story planet.

Mark me up for Diablo 2. If/when I finish it, I'll grab the expansion.

I'll be canceling my gamefly account at the end of this month, so I'll be able to finish all the stuff that's been piling up for the last year or so.

Since I have nearly 6 weeks of freedom, I've compiled a big list of shame...initial targets are:

Jack Keane (PC) - this should be done in another 2-3 hours.
Diablo II: LoD - Years ago I quit in hell; I just got bored of it. Started a new character yesterday and am almost through Act II - I WILL see this through this time!
Lego Star Wars (Gamecube)
Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 (PC) - about halfway through for a year now...time to get it done.
Professor Layton (DS) - halfway as well.

AUs, I put games that have come out on more than one platform under "Multi-Platform."

Guess I need to pick something, and make a "Pick of the Pile."

Wooo, two months in a row I've done the pick of the pile, although I didn't actually finish my game from last month.

I'm torn between Diablo 2 and Half-Life. Someone lend me a hand.

I've just played the first Act of Diablo 2 and I'm really liking it, but I'd say go with Half-Life.

Have you played Diablo 1? If so, I'd say Half-Life - I recently beat Half-Life after having beaten HL2 and it was well worth it as an FPS history lesson. If you haven't played Diablo 1, load up D2, do not pass go, do not collect 200$.

I've beaten Diablo 1, played through most of Act 2 in 2 and started HL1 about 20 times. So, I've got history with both.

I have a huge crush on half-life. It played an important role in my formative years. So I'm gonna suggest that. I would argue it definitely feels less "more of the same-ish" than Diablo 2.

Half-Life it is.

Yay!

MGS4 and Uncharted for the PS3

I also am about to finish No More Heroes for Wii and then pick up Final Fantasy Chocobo Tales.

Hotel Dusk goes down. I guess this is what happens when I go away from civilization for a few days: I get my gaming done. I had really good time with it. Got stuck a few times and resorted to looking in a FAQ. In retrospect, it's clear what a funneled, linear, minimally interactive experience it is, but for a good, well-written story, I'm willing to go along with that.

Have you ever played a game where you were had very little problem kicking ass...then, you enter the next dungeon and you're getting owned in every battle? Isn't that freakin great?

I have never rezzed so many people in my life time. The last two days have been so brutal that if this constant ownage continues, I'm dropping this game. It's crazy how it just went from smooth sailing to @#$%! ARG.

Well, if this doesn't work out, I know what my next game will be.

Well, Jack Keane is done. Enjoyed the story quite a bit, and the two of the final 3 chapters are downright exciting! Unfortunately, the game could have used a bit more bug testing.... Still, recommended!

Put me down for Ratchet and Clank again. I swear I'm almost done!

I have to think about my next game.

List should be current.

Sorry, Uliairi, but MGS4 is too new for Pile of Shame.

I've never added this one to the pile, but I think that I have about 4 months of shame on it already! I loved Lost Odyssey when I imported a Japanese copy in February, but reached JRPG saturation (a terrible condition from which I am a chronic sufferer) at the end of disc 3.

By adding it to the list, hopefully I will push myself to the end.

Do games that I should have played months ago but only just bought today count? If so, Rainbow 6: Vegas needs to go on the pile.

I think I am going to make some effort to clear SP of ether WiC or CoH... Choices choices choices...

Come back in a couple of months on that one.

Let me know what you want listed.

Barkeep! Put down Lost Odyssey on my pile. I've finally gotten into the swing of playing it again. It should be as good as finished this month. Especially since I have a new 37 inch 1080p lovely to look at while doing it.

That will be $6.50.

Put it on my tab, dont worry I'm good for it!

Bioshock and MoH: Airborne are both toast. Bioshock was great. It got a little monotonous at for a little bit, but it was well worth it for the atmosphere and story. MoH was OK. I didn't expect greatness, just a solid WWII shooter. It's going to go to GameStop now. For my next trick, Half Life 2.
