Gather Round The Maypile

MOTHER 3 falls. I enjoyed it even more this time through with the partial patch.

I just started playing Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 1 and so far have great time with it. I believe I will finish it before the month is over, so write it down for me (PC). At least the shame of not finishing Chrono Trigger again this month will be less palpable.

Sorry, wandering, I'm not going to put a game that came out yesterday on the "Pile of Shame." If you haven't finished it in a few months, we'll see, but the this is more for backlog and not new purchases.

I suppose you should take off my Age of Conan - Lots of Levels from the pile then.

I'm a few hours into Assassin's Creed now. It'll probably be my title for next month.

Sorry, you're right, I forgot for what "pile of shame" stands for. I stand corrected and ashamed.

Ugh, I've made almost no progress on God of War this month. The shame. However, I've made a lot of progress on Baldur's Gate 2.

God of War is done. Unblockable at-will attacks FTL! Roughly a dozen attempts at Ares' last form.

Nice, only 2, or was it 3, times on the monthly list?

Not that I'm one to talk. MGS2 and 3 are going into next month.

That's nothing. Resident Evil 4 was up there forever until I decided I wasn't going to finish it any time soon.

BG2 will probably be some time into next month. Not sure about Throne of Bhaal.

Finished up Beyond Good and Evil last night. Good times!

How was it? It's been sitting on my pile for quite a while. I first played it on my Gamefly sub, and I didn't get too far (and i didn't think too much of it at the time). Then I picked it up for the Xbox during the Circuit City clearance sale 2 years ago for $9.00. I've got so much stuff to get around to playing, that it always seems to take a backseat to something else.

I got destroyed by Neclord in Suikoden after about half an hour of not being able to save because there's only one damn save sphere in the entire damn castle.

At least I made progress before he obliterated my party.

Stupid vampire.

Down falls Crisis Core. The story was a bit confusing at times and I hated how you had no idea how the DMW worked or why it changed throughout, but as the ending credits rolled after the great endings I felt it was a great experience. If anyone has any doubts about it just at least give it a whirl. It's under 20 hours long.

It was good, definitely worth finishing. My biggest complaint was the controls (played it on a PC with mouse/keyboard) and the (sometimes) forced camera angles.

Scratch one Oblivion! There are still a couple of remaining side quests that I may or may not do (one that I don't think I can finish unless I get some really good frost protection), but I'm considering the game done. I am the Arch Mage, the head of the Fighters' Guild, the Grey Fox, the Grand Champion of the Arena, the Listener for the Black Hand, and the Champion of Cyrodill. Now I get to push papers for the rest of the day. But, after that, I begin my conquest of each city of Cyrodill! Mwa-ha-ha!

Month is wrapping up, and we've still got a lot of stuff not scratched out. I'm guilty of starting a couple of games from the pile that I didn't put on the list and then my wife and I got into Wii Fit. So, I'm thinking of only putting one game on the list for next month, since that seems like all I'm capable of doing.

I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get through that game I did get about 10 hours in to it last month, but then GTA IV hit, and I now finally have (most of) Rock Band, so Oblivion hasn't hit my 360 at all this month. I think I'll keep it as my June game though, even if I don't get back to it straight away -- I was enjoying it before I got sidetracked, so I'd definitely like to come back to it once GTA IV is done and dusted.

I'm making good progress on Planescape. I think I'm halfway done or so. I'll roll it over into June, hopefully carrying on enough momentum to see me through it.

I'm having a real good time with it. Solid writing. Intriguing story. Probably the most self-abusing protagonist I've ever played. I've used my own arm (detached from my body) as a bludgeon. I've had my intestines removed while conscious. And shoved a previously removed eye back into its socket. Good times.

RAAM is dead! Gears of War is down. My only complaint about the game is that it was a little too short. Maybe I can lengthen its life in Gears and Beers. It's nice to meet my goals. Now, to decide what to take on next month.

I got to a point where I had to walk away from Oblivion for a while. I mean, I've clocked over 150 hours in the game. Sometimes you just have to take a break and do something different for a while. That's when I started playing GoW.

Gargh, at the end of Suikoden and just can't finish it. Stupid grinding for the last few major battles.

Okay, despite Mario Kart Wii's best efforts, I'm coming in under the wire with Sam & Max: Season 1. Done!

Fortuitously, Season 2 is now available as a package on Steam.

Oh yeah, I beat Mass Effect a week or so ago.

I have less than 2 hours to beat Suikoden, but I'm literally right outside the door of the last boss. I can do it!

Done!
