Official Age of Conan Wiccana - PvE

I've tried for guild invite the past few nights, but the guild interface appears to not work reliably. I'm able to find the guild and apply but nothing happens.

I'll give it a shot again and maybe whisper a few of you if I see you online. Currently playing my demonologist - Aphesian at level 21.

Just curiuos what got ya to roll on the PvP side to start with? I know none of us were talking about how peaceful it'd be over there

I will be installing my copy when I get home from work. I was in the Beta for about 3 months and I still haven't decided what class to stick with, so I will probably be rotating 3 or 4 alts here at the beginning :). Does anybody here have much experience with Bear Shamans? I got my ass handed to me at low levels a few months ago in beta and I haven't tried one again. Conquerers and guardians seemed fun and easy so they will probably be a dime a dozen, I'd like to try a less common class (don't want to get stuck as the equivalent of a Huntard in WoW ).

I need to find a good class to match my predominantly solo game play. I have tried the Bear Shaman but found myself dying far too frequently. I switched to a Dark Templar which is better, but still not resonating with me. I enjoy classes with at least some magic as opposed to exclusively melee, any suggestions?

Try a HoX...they might be more magical than melee but they are total destruction.

I had RL friends that where playing on a PvP server and wanted to join them.

HoX ?

My main is probably going to be Tycho a Priest of Mitra. My main alt will probably be on of the warrior types with a name variant of Tycho, once I figure out which is the 'coolest'. Guardian or Dark Templar?

The word on Bear Shamans is that when it comes to PvP they're the ones to beat at high levels. Im hoping to prove them wrong, but there's a lot of people running bear shamans with chips on their shoulders and telling me i wont be able to touch them in 5 levels. We'll see.

I am predominantly a Solo, PvE player like CrashedHardive and when I played my Bear Shaman in those situations I got stomped on. Granted this was like lvl 1-12, but still, not fun to get stomped by every boss. I have not tried a HoX yet, maybe that will be my next experiment. I am still open to any suggestions for fun character to experience the PvE content solo or in small groups.

Screw Hanta, man.. he's always talking trash

I just installed last night, and only played for a couple of hours. I got a bear shaman named Stengar up to lvl 8, but I may reroll him to be something more pve friendly. Although, based on the roster so far, I may just keep him so I stand out from the crowd. I guess it'll depend on how hard I get my ass kicked, since I haven't done much combat.

1.5 Hours into the install i hope the remaining 20 minute patch is the last one. The game is teasing me like some strutting tavern wench with a wardrobe malfunction. i spent lunch time tracking down the last standard copy of AoC in the 11747 zip code. i would have scored the sold out collectors edition but the hax0r who rung me up was claiming that jewel for himself, much to my protestations.

With any luck i will be slogging though pools of my enemies' blood, hearing the lamentations of their women as i seek out fellow goodjers in the realm of Hyboria before midnight. Wiccana here i come!

Just be careful how quickly you judge HoX. You get zero damage mitigation till level ten. 7-10ish can be very frustrating once you hit ten though its pretty smooth sailing.

I have a BS named Wreaker, lvl 13 or so I think (didn't play last night, RL kicking me in the butt atm) but will be asking for invite soon. Wife will probably be switching from the PvP server to Wiccana, I'll have her register here as she will probably want in as well.

I tried looking for the guild last night, to no avail. Also, due to the time I was looking I didn't see any members online either.
Actually there was a Dolza on, was that you Poly? By the time I typed and sent the message, he was offline. Horrible timing
I have a Conquerer named Ariesius, and an Assassin named Arianne. If anyone with invite powers can shoot me one when you are on, that would be great! If not, I'll find you guys somehow.

I'm confused, I thought you said you have not played the game yet.

If you log in to Vent, there are always people there that can hook you up.

Doh! I don't know why I didn't think of that.

For those of you who want to roll a bear shammy, they do seem to get better at higher levels (I am 27) but are infuriating to get to there. You will only be able to take 2 equal level mobs and even then it can be very close.

You have to always keep your hots up, as these are the most important thing to you. You take alot of damage but if your not fighting too many, you should be able to heal through.

Ill continue to give updates on what I think of the class to those who are thinking about/at lower levels with one.

I scoured the thread for people seeking invites, compared it to what the guild looks like in-game, and came up with this list:

Still needs an invite to Lo(t)BO:

Ange
Arianne
Ariesius
Gaheris
Neph
Sinatar
Stengar
Wreaker

the above names exist in-game, so if you don't see your character listed above, post the name again, please.

Please invite Patoruzu to the guild....He feels left out..:)

Neph

You can add my toons as well for needing an invite.

Arovin - Tempest of Set *alt*
Shahes - Herald of Xotli *main*

Also I got my RL friends to follow me to Wiccana. If it is OK with everyone else could we allow the two of them in as well?

Maralin please. I deleted my Bear Shaman and re-started as an HoX.

Zatnikatel - Stygian Tempest of Set - Invite plz

I'm a 25 Bear Shaman so I'll chime in here.

BS is a tricky class to play for the first 15 levels. Their healing power is very low to start and taking on more than one mob at a time is comparatively more difficult than a lot of other classes, especially the Tortage Nights quests because all the instances match your current level. In addition, the ability Slam becomes virtually irrelevant by level 7 and should simply be taken off your hotbar as it will knock mobs back so infrequently that it's not worth the effort.

If you can make it to level 15 however, things change dramatically. Healing gets a good boost and damage seems to flow more quickly. You also get a knock-back that actually works again which can be used to buy yourself time to heal, time to get in a kill shot, or simply time to run away.

By 20 you have your full spectrum of heals and some great personal buffs. Damage remains consistently good and taking on 2 or 3 mobs at a time is very doable as long as you keep your HoTs running. You should rarely need to use healing potions at this point and many times won't even need to use your direct heal. Your regen rate should be thru the roof. The ONLY thing you will find yourself running out of is stamina because all your damage is melee-based. Mana is never an issue.

Anywho, that's my take on Bear Shaman. Though class to play in the early going but gets progressively easier if you can live through the first few frustrating levels.

Vyoletta - Stygian - Tempest of Set

Invite please. I tried looking for the guild but all I found was one called "Legion."

Don't forget guys. Just send a /tell to one of the following: Favour, Certis, Dolzer, Lucifist, Torgana or Elysium if you need an invite. If nothing else, the system will buffer the message so we'll get it when we login. There's something screwed up with the application process and guild listing.

Also, we can't send invitations to people who are offline, so if your messages go to offline folks and you're not around when we log in, there's not much we can do. Try another person if your first try isnt logged in. I dont mind logging in to a hundred buffered messages if it means you guys get in faster

Edit: By far, the easiest way to get in is logging into the Vent server and asking for an invite. Chances are that someone with invite power is there. Vent info is stickied on the games/platforms forum.
