Crazy weird dreams that you've dreamt!

The were a box-top license, but then they put them inside the box. :\

Night before last, I had a zombie dream. The first 90% of the dream qualified as fun, with me alternately escaping from, hiding from, or shooting zombies. Then it took a turn for the worse, where I was being pursued down the street by one inescapable zombie, who caught up with me. In the same way people fend off dogs in movies, I was trying to hold the zombie off with my forearm, while it was trying to bite me.

At this point, the wife woke me up because I was making loud 'AAAAGGHHHH' noises in my sleep that she said, and I quote "sounded like you were absolutely terrified". I was drenched in sweat, and it took a good 10 minutes before I got over the fear enough to go back to sleep.

It's particularly weird, because I can't even remember the last time I had a nightmare. It was at least a decade ago.

I had a dream last night. It started off fairly normally. Myself and two life-long friends were camping outside of this large building which, although it looked nothing like my school, was somehow my school. We had to get provisions or something and so we entered the school but one of my friends went missing so we started searching and clearing the school room-by-room like any good Rainbow Six squad. At some point the whole school suddenly became some sort of night club though i don't remember seeing any other people.
Eventually we found him in the bathrooms, standing in the corner, Blair Witch style, roaring drunk. While i was trying to get him out of there he was saying that he was fine but he was staggering round like a complete drunkard. The dream ended fairly soon after that with me being quite distressed about the whole situation.

While vacationing on an archipelago of barren red rock islands, connected by a series of wooden bridges and little thatch hut villages, we came under attack from a race of sea creatures. I ended up battling a pair of hideous mermaids, who moved and attacked exactly like the medusae from God of War, with the Hello Kitty chainsaw from the Post A Picture, Entertain Me thread.

I made sweet love to one of our interns of last summer. And although I love my girlfriend like I have never loved a human being before, even though I want to spend the rest of my life with her, although I have never cheated on her (and never have cheated period) and never will, goddamn it was AWESOME.

I dreamed that MAG was released for the Wii. Apparently Zipper did a great job optimizing for the hardware because it looked just like the PS3 and all of the GWJ crew was there too. I remember specifically resurrecting a fallen ThirteenthDi and getting shot in the head for my trouble. At first I didn't even notice I was playing the Wii then I looked down and saw the Wiimote+Nunchuck combo in my hands and suddenly the game felt a lot harder to control. I think that's when I realized I was dreaming and woke up.

You see, Z, the Wii represents your mother...

Wii controls - just don't think about them.

Pork chops. I get hit with pork chops. They fly.

Being in someone else's dream was way freakier than I first imagined.

MAG on the Wii? Sounds more like a nightmare than a dream

I had a dream that there was a secret second level in Alien Vs. Predator that had an in-game mode select and everyone started in a virtual lobby room before going through their class door or whatnot. We then discussed how amazing this secret level was and couldn't understand why rebellion wouldn't release that as the primary demo.

Man that was a lame dream.

I had yet another Left 4 Dead dream last night. Most people would say that this means that I have been playing too much L4D, but since I haven't played all week I think it's obvious that I have played too little.

This one was a lot more muddled and didn't have anywhere near as coherent of a plot as my last dream.

At first it seemed to be marginally connected to my last dream, in that it involved a shadowy corporation that was trying to weaponize zombies and the zombie virus. The L4D and L4D2 survivors had independently been investigating the source of the virus and had tracked down the headquarters of the corporation. right after they introduced themselves and whatnot the lights were killed and all of the different special infected, and some commons, poured into the room to kill everyone.

All of the zombies were killed, but unfortunately about half the survivors were killed as well. Also in the course of the fight the floor had broken and Zoey fell down into the factory. I guess in my dream instead of zombies being created in the normal way, dead bodies were brought to the factory and turned into the different types of zombies. Zoey wasn't dead, but the machinery wasn't smart enough to figure that out and a big mechanical arm picked her up and put her in one of those pods at the end of HL2, which took her away, shouting.

At this point the dream was starting to get pretty interesting! Unfortunately instead of continuing down that plotline the rest of the survivors (me now being one of them, before I was a bodiless observer, like watching a movie) just skedaddled. The rest of the dream consisted of escaping from the corporation by crawling through air ducts (the cliches have infected my subconscious!) Once we escaped we were in my old college campus, and we had to crawl up a large burned out building to get to an airport or something. Another weird part about this second half of the dream is that while the first part really felt like a movie, this one felt like a video game, not something that was actually happening. We ran into like 20 other people in my college campus holed up in a building and I distinctly remember thinking that it was cool that Valve was putting other survivors into their game.

In addition later on in the level a witch (why on Earth were there so many witches?!) insta-killed me and I restarted right after we escaped from the corporation.

Other than witch number and aggression, the only other noticeable difference between the real game and my dream was that the spitters took waaay too many shots to kill. Even the survivor AI was about right, which just proves that my subconscious mind is a douchebag.

"Shoot the witch shoot the witch shoot the witch!" I shouted as I backpedaled past my oblivious buddies shooting.

On the second play through I didn't want them to shoot the witch, but they did. Then when I shot at her she changed targets and ran towards me instead. Luckily I downed her before she got to me. Then when the second witch ran towards Francis (why were there so many witches?!) I killed her too.

I had a dream last night that I was trying to post a dream to this thread. The dream was some about some political conspiracy taking place in a science fiction world, but I couldn't remember some key details and just ended up not bothering to post.

Had a weird one the other night. It was 1971 (8 years before I was born), but I was my current age. Swimming in a pool of dark water filled with stingrays outside a Howard Johnson somewhere in Florida.

I got out of the pool, got a towel, and went inside the diner/restaurant, which was fancy on the end I went in, but sort of morphed to an old fantasy English style dining hall by my table (too much Oblivion lately, I guess). At my table were my parents and brother, none of whom I've spoken to in 5 years. A few seats down was the Joker, somewhere between the animated series and Arkham Asylum versions. He just grinned and didn't say anything, I sat next to my brother, and started eating my pancakes, which were cold.

My parents then said "of course they're cold, they've been here for 20 minutes." At that point, I went apesh*t, like a pissed-off Hitler slamming my fists on the table and screaming at them, wanting to know why nobody came to get me or sent a waitress out to let me know. End of dream.

Seriously, brain, f*ck you. Just let me dream of being Mex for a day, and quit with the confusing sh*t.

I had a dream that I was driving a cab and Funkenpants was in the back. So it's driving fine and then the engine starts to hiccup. I find this odd, as the gas gauge is near full, and then suddenly the gas gauge plummets down to empty. "Stupid used cars!" I say. Funkenpants asks what's happening, and I explain that I'd just bought this cab and I thought the gas tank was full but it's empty and hopefully we'll be able to drive on fumes to a gas station. So it's close, but we do. I pull up in front of the gas station only to realize that what I thought were pumps aren't actually pumps so I use what's left of the gas to maneuver to some pumps. I parked too close though and I have to squeeze out through a barely open door and then Funken insists he has to get out too (and through my door at that) but he can't fit.

I had a pretty weird one last night about being on a boarding party or something on a spaceship that was bigger on the inside than the outside; the outer ring of the spaceship was a portal to a whole planet. So you could be piloting your ship, and then go take a break and go fishing or something.

It struck me, after I woke up, that you could end up with a professional staff that just rotated in to man the ship, like a normal 9-5 job. They could have normal lives and families, and then eight hours a day, step across the portal and be manning an interstellar craft. It would be a very different culture than the current 'captain is in total charge' model that we use, when ships are cut off from home for such long periods of time. You'd have a whole team of captains with shifts, sick days, and paid leave.

In the dream, there was some problem with the portal, and it started to close, so we were rescuing our crewmembers.... one of them had a bicycle and couldn't fit it through the remaining holes, so I had to help him. Then I got to looking at the bicycle, and wondered why you'd need a bike in space, and that woke me up.

For the environment you insensitive clod!

Few dreams stick with me after more than a week, but I had this one about two weeks ago and it is still a bit haunting. I was on the hollowed out ledge of a large granite mountain that overlooked a typical bright green forest below. In the ceiling were two huge piston like machines that were rotating and each driving a large rectangular heavy metal object toward the floor but not actually hitting it. Where the objects would impact the floor were two perfectly cut out shapes about five feet deep that seemed meant to receive them. I had the sense of people in the background, a large crowd of spectators, but no one was actually visible. The only sound was of the pistons clanking loudly and the rush of displaced air as they descended toward the receptacles.

Two men walked out and lay down in the cut out area. The pistons quickly plunged down and evidently crushed the men completely. There was very little blood. As they ascended a bubbling greenish liquid filled the receptacles and drained leaving no trace of either man. There was no voice, but I got the impression that they were criminals being executed and the crowd was there to watch.

Next a young brunette woman walks out and kneels in the right depression. She is wearing a bright multicolored bikini and her hair is wet as if she came strait from a pool. The right piston rushes down almost too quick to see but stops mere inches above her. She screams out in fear (one of the most disturbing parts), and the piston rises quickly, the green water rushes in and she falls backwards while it hardens around her sort of like carbonite. Then the piston flies down again and shatters the stone like substance she had turned into. It was almost like the machine was alive and enjoyed its work.

I got the feeling that she wanted to die like that and that it was common for people in that reality to go out of their way to experience death in extraordinary ways as they had some technology that brought you back and virtually made death irrelevant. Very creepy vibe when I woke up. Seeing the girl fall back into the water was extremely sad even though I somehow sensed that she wanted it.

SCORE!

Last night I had a dream where I could fly. But not ONLY could I fly, but I also had wings. And a jetpack.

I can now die happy

Nothing like redundancy.

Ever heard of Icarus?

Did i write about my dream about the wizards having a big massive war in a parallel dimension to ours and they were all killed except one (Merlin) who had the job of tidying all the magic fallout up and that i stumbled across the access to this other dimension in the middle of an office block in the southern UK? Oh, and it turned out that i somehow had some telekinetic powers as they awakened when i saw the destruction left behind after the battle that had occurred centuries ago.....

Talk about weird.

This. Dreams where you can fly, while awesome, tend to take that ability away from you at the last minute. Quite a downer, didn't happen this time though! I didn't actually have angel wings and a jetpack with turbines or something like that. It actually looked more like it was made out of ice crystals, but the effect was the same. Instead of *just* flying around I was able to become a jet aircraft for a bit.

I get it!

Arise, thread!

Last night I had a dream that I lived in a house with a ground-level bedroom, and every night thieves would come in through my open bedroom window and try to rob me. I kept waking up in time to chase them off, so one of them got angry enough that he tried to strangle me while I was asleep. Luckily, I woke up in time to free myself and kick him out of my house.

Apparently, my continued foiling of these thieves was enough to anger the leader of the local Thieves' Guild, so he placed a bounty on my head. From that point forward, every night a thief would sneak into my bedroom and try to murder me and bring back my ponytail as proof of the deed (everyone in the dream sported long, Chinese-style queue hairstyles for some reason). I think at one point I installed bars in my windows and slept with a gun under my pillow but the thieves kept attacking.

When I finally woke up for real I was completely tangled up in my blanket and covered in sweat, so I was probably flailing around like crazy trying to defend myself from imaginary thieves.

I had a dream last night that I was being surrounded by a zombie hoard.

I blame this thread.

I had a dream last night that I was part of a bank robbery in a hilly/snowy Pittsburgh-like residential suburb.

It's funny, 'cause I'm a pretty passive individual by nature. Anyway, so it opens with me and my cohorts (3 or 4 people maybe?) rushing the bank lobby, guns akimbo. There's a Plexiglas barrier positioned at the service stations much like you often see today and it flashes to me that the employee's behind the glass aren't taking us seriously enough due to their relative safety.

So I grab a customer and level my sawed-off dual barrel shotgun to their head, motioning to the bank tellers and saying in essence that, "It's blood on your hands if you don't hand over the cash."

They get the point and pass over the money. Then things get weird.

So I have a sense of deja-vu that I (and my team) has done this before and gotten busted in the process. So I somehow grab the loot and suddenly find myself at the getaway car in the parking lot by myself. I intuit that if I exit "north" I'll be apprehended, so I hop in the car and head down the road south.

Pulling up a long, elevated driveway I park behind several cars who are part of an outdoor get together...like an outdoor BBQ in winter. I blend in with the crowd of strangers thinking I'll be aces just sitting tight less than a mile from the scene of the crime while the cops expand their search radius looking for a fleeing bank robber.

End.

Weird. I'm not a criminal, and I like to think that I wouldn't sell out any cohorts if I were. I totally did in my dream though.

This week I dreamed that that I was sitting on the tail of an attack helicopter in flight. I had to move my hand to the other side to avoid the tail rotor.

I had a dream that my wife and I were house-sitting for 2 gay guys who thought they were members of a race from the Myst games. So we get there and there's a bunch of bugs in the house I'm trying to kill. Then there's also pets we're pet-sitting, some cats and dogs. The next thing I know, we're also taking care of their young kids and I had to give one of the kids a shot or IV or something.

That wasn't a dream. Also, I highly doubt demonbox and Burnt Toast will ask you to house-sit again.
