Gametrailers has the exclusive trailer for the upcoming LEGO game. As usual, the gameplay is rudimentary, but I absolutely love the attitude and style of these games.

Looking forward to this and the Indy game as well.
Funny how it takes a set of plastic blocks to make a decent Batman game, huh? If you'd have told me 5-10 years ago that I'd be looking forward to LEGO videogames, I would have thought you were nuts.

Looking forward to it as well. I still remember buying the original Lego Star Wars for the kids and then ended up playing it far more than they did.
I do hope they go more casual than the last game. I liked some of the additions in Lego Star Wars II, but it was a lot more frustrating in parts.
Wow, I feel so much less alone now... I never do multiplayer! - beeporama
There's an Lego Indiana Jones game in the works too. Both look pretty sweet!!
Holy some assembly required, Batman!
Holy crap, Certis was at the combine this past weekend.
Did you get to see his penis?
Yeah, Lego Indy is due out sometime in June. Talk about a game franchise (LEGO) that has really made up for past crap! Star Wars rocks the fat ass, Indy looks great, Batman looks awesome.. the "fake Lego Halo" even looked good for the little bit of silliness that it was. Is?

I would totally buy Lego Halo
Just goes to show you how Traveler's Tales (the developer) has a unique understanding of the concept: all of the Lego Star Wars games have just been downright fun to play. There are not that many games I can truly enjoy playing with my 4 year old, but those games are definitely among them. Looking forward to both the Indy and Batman games.
I imagine if these games keep doing so well me might see Lego Superman, Spiderman, or some other DC/Marvel heroes.
Lego Indy gameplay video!
I agree, it looks fantastic, I really can't wait for it to come out
Thanks for the link Certis, that was a great trailer.

The Lego game actually does look pretty good!

April issues are getting more clever, I tell you!
Thread, rise, and some such.
Apparently they're turning Lego Batman into a TV show.
I rented this yesterday. I've beaten the hero levels and am currently at work playing as the villains. This is a simply awesome game. I didn't play Lego Indy but I couldn't be happier with how this turned out.

Played through the first Riddler mission last night. If you've played Lego SW or Lego Indy, you've played this game. That's either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your own personal POV.
One "new" thing about this game is that there are many fewer characters, but more costumes for each character that do different things (the first one you find is the "demolition suit" for Batman which allows you to plant large bombs). There's also a new "batarang" mode, which is a little like Captain America's shield in ULTIMATE ALLIANCE-- you have to hold down the attack button, which brings up a batshield logo... you move it around the screen and target "hit-able" objects.
Beating Clayface in the first mission was incredibly, ridiculously easy.
Is this the only catch-all for this? Found two topics but this seems to be the more recent.
Sat down for some coop fun with my wife this weekend. While she's having a blast, I'm getting more annoyed with every bug.
We were actually completely stopped on the Poison Ivy level. The boss fight just bugged out completely. Apparently it's supposed to drop some bombs to destroy things with but nothing ever happens. No goons respawn. We have just sat there for about 10 minutes with no progress at all. And unlike most modern games there's no autosave or checkpoint. Why can't I just reload from the boss cutscene and try again? No, you have to quit the entire level and lose all progress (studs and hidden things collected).
I know it's "just for kids" but that doesn't excuse lazy QA.
Disappointed to hear that. My youngest son (4) has been playing Lego Batman off and on for over a year now. And to be honest, despite the occasional misfire (no vehicle levels are great) the game is still quite enjoyable. I've purchased Lego Batman 2 and it's en route but we won't open it until the end of August when it's my son's birthday.
Bummer to hear the bugs are getting in the way.

We've dabbled in a mission or two every night now, and so far no more show-stopping bugs.
But the camera angles are awful, especially in coop. Anytime there's a delicate maneuver one of us must perform it's actually better for the other person to drop out, and then the camera will zoom in on whatever action you are doing. This works for climbing, switches, villains controlling people, glide jumps, and just about everything that's remotely challenging in the game. It's all much more difficult when coop but becomes simple when solo, just due to the crappy camera.
Still we both laugh at the cutscenes and my wife is having fun with the simple gameplay. She also enjoys being Poison Ivy, Catwoman, or Batgirl in Free Play, but I think she's about done with the Boy Wonder (Robin again? )
