12-26 sales

Just a heads up to folks, there's some totally sweet sales going on today. GoGamer.com has Halo 3 for $30 and World in Conflict for $20. EBGamestop is doing a buy 2 get 1 free deal today only for all used games and accessories. They also have a big list of discounted stuff. I'm linking to the CAG threads because it's easier then hunting down all the individual deals.

I just picked up Assassin's Creed, Orange Box, and Skate for $82 after trading in CoD4. I believe a "w00t" is in order. So go... consume! Spend! The xmas monster needs more dollars!

Wow, guess GoGamer really wants to clear out that warehouse space.

Does anyone know if it is currently possible to walk into a Best Buy or something today and pick up Rock Band? I'd like to snag it, but I don't want to head over there if it's unlikely that they have any. A friend has his largely teenage kids here, so if I could pick it up today it'd be a bit of a bonus.

I would check to see if there is any stock for the "In Store Pickup" in your area.

Anyone who doesn't pick up World in Conflict for $20 (unless they already have it) should be hung by their unmentionables. Put down your Master Cheefs and Bio Shox and play that damn game now.

I checked Best Buy's website today (looking for Rock Band 360 myself) and the game is back-ordered online and not availible for in-store pickup.

*shakes fist*

I'm afraid, as per your Rock Band thread post, that the EBay sellers have latched on to the band wagon. Thus, no Rock Band on shelves. Hopefully that won't persist.

*shakes fist at EBay privateers*

Sad thing is, that's $0.01 more than you need to pay to play it legally. It went free-to-play a few weeks back.

There is zero chance I would step into a Best Buy on Dec 26th, even if they had Rock Band for $12! If you are looking for a portal to hell, Best Buy the day after Christmas is it.

A couple weeks ago, Amazon was accepting orders of Rock Band to be filled from their second shipment. I got mine around the time they said I would. Dunno if they're still doing it, but I'll be looking into it for future hard to find items.

Would be a good idea. I plan to have Logan sit in for me when I am on my honeymoon.

- Legion, taking "keeping it in the family" to a whole new level.

Wandered into a newer Best Buy today, and not only was it only marginally busy, they had at least twenty 360 versions of Rock Band waiting to be loved.

Also, it's worth mentioning that the Steam store has discounts on pretty much every game for between 25% - 50% off.

You know, after this Christmas my budget and I can't justify buying any non-essential items until Mid-January at best. Thankfully I got a few games so I can easily hold off that long but still, I do wonder at times who these sales are aimed at.

People who get cash as presents. Pretty much the norm for me as all my presents were in the form of money or gift certificates as I'm way too indecisive to make a good list. eg I spent close to 300 today on stuff I needed or have been wanting for awhile and got the exact brands/sizes or what have you that I wanted. Couple of relatives went out today looking for Laptops and HD T.V's. I know at least one picked up a Toshiba laptop at future shop marked down even further as it was the last floor model.

I did most of my purchasing FOR Christmas online. Why should I do any less for the post-Xmas sales?

That being said, I purchased some games from Gamefly's sale, specifically: .hack//GU Vol.2, LocoRoco, Monster Hunter Freedom, and Sid Meier's Pirates. I'm also tempted to buy Eye of the North from Gogamer.com, but my character is only at level 7 right now. Of course, by the time it arrived, he probably would be pretty close to 20...

Gametap is having a 50% off sale on their year subscriptions. You get a full year's service for $59.95.

I'm tempted but I'm a base building whore. The multi-player demo never really grew on me.

I was shamed into buying World in Conflict by *Legion*'s impassioned post, but got an email saying it was backordered. I am still trying to figure out if I will still get the sale price on my backordered copy.

Is... is that a joke? That's saying you're saving 50% as compared to the monthly subscription for the same year. It's like a magazine saying you get 60% off the cover price if you subscribe. That's been around since they first implemented a yearly subscription.

Gamestop is having a BUY TWO GET ONE FREE sale (finally!) on their used games.

from now until 12/30 I believe.

Multiplayer is OK, but the real strength of World in Conflict is the single player campaign, which is something I haven't been able to say about an RTS in... forever?

I'd rather play Supreme Commander multiplayer, but World in Conflict solo, easily.

I've seen Rock Band at Sears and at Fred Meyer. Maybe they are available at the less popular stores?

Speaking of World in Conflict, that's Amazon's Deal of the Day. They also have it for $20.
