Nothing, directly, but it does make the position of the company more tenuous. Low share price makes them more vulnerable to acquisition from an outside company and scares off potential investors. Also, it increases the odds of suits trying to interfere in the creative process to make the product more "marketable."

You know what also sucks?

The contact Core in the facility

I know there is a GWJ templar cabal. However I hear it is dead alot. I am in a guild called Gryphon Division and it is full of nice people. We have been around since start of game.
Me and Jaedor are part of the guild and could be a good place for other templar Goodjers to congregate.

Shoot me a tell if you are interested in game.

Yeah, that is the hardest fight in there for sure!

Thanks Ruhk, that's exactly it, put very succinctly.

Secret World Issue 2: Digging Deeper

AUXILIARY WEAPON #1: THE ROCKET LAUNCHER!

Introducing a brand new weapon, featuring seven brand new abilities, wrapped in a brand new auxiliary wheel!

With the addition of a third weapon and eighth ability hot-bar slot, you can now augment your existing decks with the awesome might of the rocket launcher. The rocket launcher that goes 'Boom!'.

More details will be revealed very soon -- and this is just the first of many auxiliary weapons to come! We're already working on the next one…and The Secret World should prepare for a real Texas-style massacre. Rrrrrreeeennnennennnennnnn!

THE MODERN PROMETHEUS!

Inside an abandoned abattoir in the bowels of Brooklyn, the infamous Dr Anton Aldini (Peter Stormare) has set up his paraplastic surgery -- the Modern Prometheus -- and on August 28th, his practice will be open for business.

With the Modern Prometheus, we're introducing new heads and new facial features, allowing players to completely alter the way their characters look. The first visit is free, but subsequent nips and tucks will cost PAX. Coupons will also be made available in the item store for those players who are short on in-game cash.

OCKHAM'S RAZOR!

Unhappy with your hairstyle? With your beard or moustache? Your makeup? At Ockham's Razor in London, you can change them all!

Doubling the number of available hairstyles, players can use in-game cash (PAX) or coupons purchased in the item store to alter their 'do, facial hair or makeup.

NEW MISSIONS!

Mission Pack #2 -- part of August's issue -- adds new investigation missions, the auxiliary weapon mission, and lair action missions to the game:

'Digging Deeper' continues the story that began with The Kingsmouth Code, and sends players back to Pastor Henry Hawthorne at the Kingsmouth Congregational to dig deeper into the town's secret history and Illuminati legacy
In 'Death and Axes', players learn more about Sophie's close connection with the spirit world. In Transylvania's Besieged Farmlands, the dead are restless, and Sophie is increasingly sensitive to their pain -- causing Cern some concern for her well-being, and sending players on an investigation into the terrible events that have transpired here
'Strangers from a Strange Land' introduces players to the ancient history of Solomon Island, going back to when the island was visited by Norsemen in their longboats, a thousand years ago. This investigation begins with Red (of Red's Bait & Tackle) and introduces players to a pair of famous talking ravens from Norse mythology...
In Transylvania, Iele -- the guardian of the Shadowy Forest -- needs the player's help in order to revive her 'Singing Stones' and fight the growing infection that threatens this delicate magical sanctuary
Acquiring the first auxiliary weapon -- the rocket launcher -- won't be a cakewalk. In the first of a series of exciting auxiliary weapon missions, players will work with the Council of Venice to retrieve a highjacked shipment of rocket launchers. During the course of this mission, players face powerful new Orochi technology, travel to a brand new location, and come face to face with the two-faced Phoenicians

And these are just some of the missions that will be made available as part of Mission Pack #2!

NEW NIGHTMARE MODE DUNGEONS!

Two additional dungeons are receiving Nightmare modes in issue #2: The Facility and Hell Eternal.

Further testing the extreme limits of the players' abilities, these new additions bring new challenges and new rewards to The Secret World.

Finally, for anyone still on the fence about the game, there is a new, three day free trial

Edit to add: The three day tryout starts today. This may be of interest to existing players:

Didn't Eve start out with bad reviews?

I'm horrified that they'd add another slot for an active ability. I use every key on my Nostromo as it is. I guess I could pull the escape key, since I found out how to retarget myself... Or, alt, yes, that can go...

Okay, I'm good for another slot or two.

I use my Naga. I can handle up to 12.

lol was going to suggest the old wow trick and use ctrl for a 2nd row of commands, alt works too though

Good choice of actors.

I like that they've got some real talent for the voice acting, I haven't found a badly voiced character yet, they're all genuinely engaging to listen to. The fact that they're going out of their way to actually note who's voicing a new character (although if it's Peter Stormare, I can see why you'd want people to know) means they're clearly taking it seriously.

I also like that they've hired a popular, big name actor to voice a cosmetic NPC.

I love the idea of auxiliary weapons, rocket launcher then chainsaw, and if they do it right it could add an element to combat to really spice it up.

I use my Naga. I can handle up to 12.

I've got more than twelve keys, but think about it - it's hard to be in a fight and hop back and forth from a side keyboard to the main one. So I have the WASD keys mapped to the 8-way switch (works great); CTRL is the button above that, so's I can chat with my homies on Vent; 1-7 are on the keyboard, along with ESC, SPACE for jumping, ALT for targeting myself; sprint; autorun; loot; and two others I can't think of at the moment. I could repurpose a few of those, like ESC and ALT (since I turned on the click-to-target in the Options); but if they double the active skill slots eventually, I'll be out of keys.

Well, I "finished" the game yesterday. That is I finished all of the story missions. Now my goals are to run all of the dungeons since I've only run the ones up through mid Egypt. I've also been trying out tons of random builds while running around in PvP.

For all of these new missions they're adding in, any idea if they're going to give you some kind of message to direct you to the new content or will I need to read through all of the patch notes each time to see who I need to track down?

Usually the news section on the website gives you hints about who to talk to. Also there is an achievement for the episode missions.

The only person I've encountered so far that had poor voice acting was the guy in the junkyard in Kingsmouth. Otherwise it's been fine to really good. No complaints.

A peak at the barbershop and plastic surgeon coming with 1.2. Can't wait to see some of those ridiculous hair styles out in the open.

So I got this last weekend and have been playing it whenever I had the free time, really loving it. I still need to make up my mind and decide what I want as my build, though most my points are in assault rifle at the time.

I just wrapped up just about everything in Kingsmouth this evening, finding Savage Coast to be a bit overwhelming if I'm not paying attention. Would anyone be up for walking me through Polaris? I'm on the Grim server, Dragon and character name is Berke.

So I ran though a lot of old content again to get the 1200 bonus FunCom Points that I missed by being on vacation during celebration weekend. Redoing all those missions gave me enough AP and SP that I've finally got what seems to be a viable build and I'm finally making progress in Blue Mountain.

OTOH, I'm currently sitting on around 80 unspent AP and 20 unspent SP and aren't quite sure where to put them. I've thought about working towards one of the standard decks but looking at them they all seem a bit sub-optimal (I like my current setup better than either Slayer or Necromancer; the two I'm closest to). So I'm trying to figure out where to build out next. I'm primarily AR/Blade but have the inner circle finished for Blood and Fists as well.

Here's my current setup in Chronicle (which still seems to lag by a day or two)

Actives:
Grass Cutter (Blade) - Single target, more damage if target afflicted
Forking Paths (Blade) - PBAoE, some healing if target afflicted
Clearing the Path (Blade) - PBAoE, consumes all blade resources. Always penetrates if target afflicted
Anima Shot (AR) - Heal and leech
Suppression Fire (AR) - TAoE frenzy
Frag Grenade (AR) - TAoE, consumes all AR resources
Shot of Anima (AR) - Heal and leech, consumes all AR resources

Passives:
Bloodsport (Fist) - All hits apply afflicted
Incision (Blade) - All hits that penetrate apply afflicted
Twist the Knife (Blade) - Extra damage on penetration
Fortunate Strike (Blade) - Chance of extra damage on penetration
Fatal Flourish (Blade) - Penetration bonus to hits that apply afflicted (see Bloodsport)
Sharp Blades (Blade) - All blade attacks do more damage
Salt in the Wound (Fist) - Extra damage on hits that apply afflicted (see Bloodsport)

So I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. Just about everything I've got either applies or exploits afflicted so (almost) everything is working together. The big trick (which someone upthread pointed out, thanks to whoever you are!) is the realization that you can use passives from weapons you aren't using. Getting Bloodsport gave me a huge boost in damage output.

But I'm not there yet; I'm still unhappy with some of this. I'm not sure I need to keep Incision now that I have Bloodsport; I can't tell if the afflictions stack or not.

I'm also not happy with my AR actives. I've got two consumers which I think is one too many. The heals are helpful but can't always keep me alive (as I found out at Kraken Point last night :()). I think I need to switch to remembering to use potions for emergency heals and focus on damage instead.

There are some high-damage AR skills but they all seem to have ridiculous cooldowns (as in 30 - 45 seconds).

Skillwise I've got all AR, Blade and Trinket skills at 6. Blood is at 4 and Fist is at 3. I'm trying not to get too far ahead of my gear here and right now I've got nothing better than QL5. (Saw my first QL6 trinket last night but it was no better than what I already had.)

So, anyone have any words of wisdom they can impart?

But I'm not there yet; I'm still unhappy with some of this. I'm not sure I need to keep Incision now that I have Bloodsport; I can't tell if the afflictions stack or not.

I think you can drop Incision. Otherwise you have a nice dps blade build there.

Here is my build - http://chronicle.thesecretworld.com/...

Something that really increase my dps was getting some passives that increased damage by percentage like lethality and twist the knife. I really saw a big difference after adding those.

berke - I'll be on maybe tonight after 11Pm and a bunch tomorrow if you can catch me on and we can run through Polaris or grab some other and hit some dungeons. I've even been working on a healer build for guild run but haven't really used it

I also have been thinking about moving to blades/pistols for some variety but pistol is mainly support so i haven't been able to find stuff that fits my blade dps skills.

I knew that F2P would be a risk when I got the lifetime, I just hope that they don't screw the life-timers too bad.

I think it's inevitable that they'll go F2P at some point. I just hope they follow the Cryptic model; they seemed to do pretty well by their lifetime subscribers when LOTRO went F2P.

Thanks. I think I'll replace Incision with Lethality for now.

great, thanks! I'll be off and on during the weekend, but added everyone with the Dragons to my friend list.

I definitely hit a wall the first time I got to the savage coast but I picked up a blue QL5 AR and shotty from the Venice store and things seem to be much smoother now. I was using blade/AR when I got here but I prefer the mobility and range of AR/Shotgun I think. It's really hard to fight stuff like Ak'ab if you have to get up in their face.

They've updated this article with a response from Funcom, one bit really sticks out:

Funcom wrote:

We do want to make it very clear that we remain fully committed to The Secret World, and as we are demonstrating at Gamescom this week, we have many short and long term plans for the game. This includes regular content updates, such as the New York raid instance coming in October and the vast Tokyo adventure area planned for release in early 2013, both of which we are revealing at Gamescom this week.

I'm not very familiar with Tokyo itself outside of game appearances (The World Ends with You) and general pics of the city, so it'll be a surprise to me how they use it.

I'd recognize the Shibuya scramble crossing under any circumstance... just sayin'.

Ooh, Tokyo is a good choice. Really any big city would do, it'll fill a bit of a gap in the adventuring spaces we have right now. I mean we do have London, New York and Seoul, but they're not adventure areas per se, so it'd be good having a metropolitan area to explore and adventure in.
