Avatar: The Last Airbender - S3 Catch All Thread *Spoilers*

Katara/Zuko is so much more interesting. I think part of the problem with Aang is that he "has" to have children so there can be more Airbenders.

I'll check back at the end of S3. I don't remember the end being cringeworthy but frankly I don't remember the ending in great detail.

I agree Aang's crush is a basically out in the open for the audience to see throughout seasons 1 and 2, whereas Katara's romantic thoughts and feelings get a lot less screen time. Those are conveyed more subtly in glances and looks.

Unpopular opinion, but I like the live action version of AtlAB. I saw it before the animated version, and was only vaguely familiar with the cartoon when I saw the movie.

That is almost definitely the hottest take I have ever seen. Bravo.

I love the fact that the return to Netflix has brought this show back to everyone's attention. Korra is coming back to Netflix as well. That said, I do agree with Po and others that it is not nearly as good as AtLA

Man, I really wish they were doing a 3rd animated series instead of this live action remake of ATLA.

Yeah, I'd much rather see the original team given a bunch of money and a clear commitment for several seasons so they can do something without worrying about cancellation.

Checking back in after wrapping up the series again. I'm glad to report it still holds up.

I really missed the presence of Iroh in season 3. I know he was there, but the original voice actor died during S2 and I suspect they just weren't sure how to account for that in S3. It felt like he ought to have had a bigger role in S3 than he ultimately got.

The final battle with Aang and Ozai is a huge adrenaline rush. The final moments afterwards aren't the memorable part and I didn't find them cringeworthy.

I did buy The Promise, the omnibus graphic novel of the events after the show concludes. I'm glad to have read it but I wish I'd found a way to borrow the book. It's okay, the illustration is good and it's enjoyable to spend more time with the characters but the story is just okay.

The Appa plushie I got on the other hand is a huge hit and my daughter is already an Appa fan after just a few days.
