Happy Hump Day Survey!

"Thus Spake Zarathustra"

Happy hopefully you're off work so it's not really hump day!!

You can pick a fictional travel destination to go to rather than go to family Christmas parties...where do you go?

Sweden

Any of them.

Risa

Thedas

Real answer: Narnia!

Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory

The Tardis

I think I'd rather have been in the Shire...much more relaxing but still with lots of food and drink! This Disco doesn't go without elevensies at Christmas.

You're absolutely right. I completely missed the "fictional" part.

Well then I have no idea. Gold Saucer maybe?

Holiday hump days are hard to keep track of...

Happy new year!!

What are your favorite songs that have a year or number in the title?

Prince: 1999

When I saw "year" this was the one that popped into my mind:

"Number" is a while 'nother story. Still thinking about it.

Obligatory:

Also:

Sort of a minimalistic, trippy song, but it's kinda trippy and served as a great pseudo-intro to The Mob Rules, the next song on the album.

Another minimalistic song that served as an intro to the album of the same name, in which Eddie van Halen shows how much he liked synthesizers.

[edit]

Holy crap! How did I (almost) forget this classic? A great song, but an even better video IMO, due to the use of dialogue and video from Johnny Got His Gun, the film adaptation of the book that the song was inspired by.

Good answer.

Yes, the whole thing! We have assumed control!

I'm sure there are MANY better songs, but now this ridiculous German club song (Eins Zwei Politzei) from like 10 years ago is all I can think of.

Video is slightly nsfw...almost nudity in the first few seconds.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

What are the best movie speeches/monologues?

The first thing that came to mind is the nose monologue in Cyrano de Bergerac. Admittedly, it's a movie based on Edmond Rostand's play of the same name, but still. Gérard Depardieu was absolutely brilliant

Aside from that... I can think of a few:

Roy Batty at the end of Blade Runner

Zorg's sale pitch for ZF-1 in Fifth Element

I'm sure someone else will mention Jules Winnfield's monologue in Pulp Fiction, but I didn't stick with me.
