Saint's Row 2 Details

Link

Is it wrong for me to be more excited for this than for GTA4?

I'm looking forward to this one too, Maybe not more than GTA4 but still excited. I really enjoyed the first one. The multiplayer was laggy for me on my old connection at the time. but it was still fun. I never got a chance to play any of the Co-Op levels I wish I could see that link now... It's blocked here at work... I'll check it out when i get home tonight though...

I've been playing Saint's Row lately. I've really been enjoying it. I'm not sure how they took the GTA idea and made it a bit more fresh, but they did. I could definitely see playing a sequel.

I think they managed it by taking all the stupid, frustrating mechanics from GTA (I'm looking at you, garages), and approaching them from a different angle.

Co-op through the whole single-player campaign? Sign me up.

The first one was pretty good, but the lack of water and air travel was a bit of a bummer. Also, the characterization was kind of lame, but I can forgive that due to the customization options being so good.

Ultimately, I don't really care for the stories in these games but I can't imagine what else you can really do with a sandbox-style city game. The game-play is very good, so it barely matters what the characters are actually doing.

I really enjoyed the first one, and I would be interested in playing a sequel for sure. Too bad the original's MP was plagued by lag.

I'm all over a sequel! Here's hoping they keep improving on any of the remaining control and gameplay problems with the genre. I enjoyed the first game much more than any pripr GTA game, and can only hope that the competition between these two games results in continued leaps in quality.

Granted, I still have to finish up the first Saints Row, but driving a Semi Truck with a trailer at high speeds tends to be about as tricky as it sounds. *sigh*

I'll play it just to see if they explain the ending of the first one. No spoilers, but when I saw it I scratched my head and said, "Huh?".

Im into it. The first was extremely well done, from the controls to the graphics and the design. How could I say no to more?

I liked the first one, but the story missions all ended up being "go over there and kill 20 guys". I hope they add some more variety to the story mission structure.

I enjoyed the game two and really hope this is the start to a ongoing battle between Rockstar and THQ for who can crank out the better game. We'll reep the benefits if the end and I'm really curious to see how this plays out.

The first one was really good and I look forward to Saints Row 2 but I am more excited for GTA IV.

Loved the first one, so I'm very excited this sucker's carving out it's own niche. I do wonder how that multiplayer will be...

But "go over there and kill 20 guys" is one of the fundamental forms of dramatic conflict.

What else can un-educated gang bangers do?

I don't think that would pass the ESRB.

A Q2 2008 release would be ideal. At that point, I will have caught up on the current fall releases.

Gotta love Gary!

I finally got around to finding the last CD and finished the last Insurance Fraud Mission and got my 100% completion. And all of the offline achievements. Screw the online achievements. Bring on SR 2!
